I don’t want to pull RLB to bits for the job he has done, however the way to stop other teams scoring is to have the ball in there half.We have chucked far far too many points away this season, lesson must be learnt now before it’s too late.No more five at the back when leading by just one goal. Ipswich last season put attackers on the pitch at 65/70 mins, not extra defenders.
The thing with RLB saying he needed to get minutes in Samed is that now there is no way he should be starting another match anytime soon . The manager has been great, but his comments really translates as we don’t expect Plymouth to up to much. Negative defensive substitutions played a part in the late goal yesterday. Dan Neil must play the role he has done so well in for the last two months . It was potentially a day for Alecsic or moving LeFee into the centre with Mayenda wide
It should've been an ideal opportunity to give Samed game time. We would have expected to dominate, and we have enough quality to put teams like Plymouth to bed, whatever the formation.RLB may have been considering future fixtures against Boro and Leeds where Samed might be needed. Can't really fault the idea. Plymouth played a day later, were given the runaround, and did the traveling. The change shouldn't have disrupted us that much. It was a bad day at the office. We have not only lost too many late goals but lost them by losing a game of penalty pinball despite bringing on more defenders, which sends out a negative message and hasn't worked. Might still be net positive if Burnley and Leeds draw but it was still a massive opportunity lost.
Patterson at fault for the 2nd goal, no if’s or but’s. Any other competent footballer, not even a GK, comes and claims that nothing ball instead of asking O’Nien to try and head a soft, floating ball back out into safety. Might be a good shot stopper, but he needs dropping.
Defensive...Sunderland allow crosses and the goalie does not command his area...which creates pressure on the defenders having to defend deep and face to the goal...Then distribution is clueless and creates turnovers that are also adding to pressure especially last 20 mins of games...Plymouth and many other teams use All their subs...So fresh legs in the last part of the game???
An absolute shambolic performance because of the Burnley performance sunderland thought they could walk through that match to meany changes no high press going defences putting 5 in defence just invited confidence and pressure very bad call it's all on the manager for that shambles of a game
Hi Phil, salis is not a championship player ,to slow, gets caught on the ball , and his inclusion totally killed our normal play ,,Regis first big error this season …set up and formation and tactics are massive in any football game regardless of the opposition!
Salis was the wrong choice yesterday but he is a good player, his stats prove that. He'll be of great use in the cominmg months especially in away games.
@@JanetteAtkinson-c9f The manager made a big error and it was a big error because it cost us two massive points he disrespected the opposition because they got beat 5-0 by Burnley. He should have known they would be hurting they spent two days at Newcastles training ground working on their defeat RLB played a weakened team when he should have made sure we win no mistakes. That draw may well cost us dealy. .
@bjornshigg7687 The two main stats for him are that he played against Stoke and Plymouth at home and he made errors in both games that led to the opposition scoring! He reminds me of Jeff Whitley!
If we fail to go up this season, it will not be down to being beat off better teams. It is our own self inflicted failings to beat what in most cases are teams of jobbing clunkers. Plymouth are nothing more than a team of first division journeymen. We allowed them to dictate the game and were lucky not to lose due to many unenforced errors of our players and unfortunately our coaching staff.
When Hume loses his man where they hit the post is not the fault of 4-4-2, it's just Hume as a defender. We didn't even go to 4-4-2 as Mayenda stayed on the right. Then he was moved to the middle when Isidor was subbed off. So it wasn't 4-4-2 at fault it was bad characters at the back, the same characters who have turned in our worst performances last season and season before. We're onto RLB and had Mowbray, Beale and Dodds who all cannot stop the the leaky lazy goals. There's a point where you have to ask is it maybe the players? What's the latest in Neil's contract?
RLB got this all wrong, wrong starting 11, wrong subs at the wrong time wrong tactics from start to finish wrong players attitude, all in all the perfect storm of wrong doings the only positive for us is we were lucky to get a point.
Coach to blame for this result just like Sheffield they changed the team for no reason at all we had coming 8 days before our next game plenty time to rest up. What we've done now is just gave the other teams more confidence to fight on we have definitely shot ourselves in the foot and I think we will struggle from here on in only my opinion but we are simply not strong and good enough to get to the automatic places it's game over for me 👎
If we don’t get a goal scorer we don’t go up that simple or maybe even drop down out of the top six. Sorry Phil Dan Neil has no X factor for me. The manager picked the wrong team what’s gone wrong with high press. Play like that and Boro will hammer us. Bitterly disappointed.
Totally agree Dan Neil is not good enough watched his body language yesterday not good he was dead on his feet, for me he would be sold immediately and get someone in who is stronger and who has a better football brain so get rid while we can get decent money for him waste of space as a captain 😡😡😡
Disagree with this, Neil is one of our best players. Not sure you can use him as a scapegoat for yesterday either. We’d be nowhere near the top without his presence this season. I think he’s only improved as the seasons gone on. Yesterday everyone seemed a little off the mark
when will people realise we are not good enough to go up.we would get shafted in the prem f.f.s.we need to pick a side to compliment the players we have.am pointing to o,nein ,he,s not a c.b and never has been.ballard is head and shoulders above him .mayenda has got to play before samed f.c s.sell dan and take the money now.sentiment must go out of the window.sorry.

You can't go 5 at the back at home against a team bottom of the league fighting for their life's.

Yep!
When I watch the other "top" teams in the league I see a high intensity and aggression when going forward, I don't see that with Sunderland........
Won't win automatic promotion but nailed on to lose the play-off final by conceding a goal in 90+ minute.

Top 2 has gone. Far to many draws and lack of fire power. Just like the jack Ross Era
Top two
Not. The way we are playing
Sunderland Set back to mush
