    I appreciate the video, being shared. I mean no disrespect but it is rather funny that the taper is telling it to f off in what I presume to be warranted fear from the massive beast yet as soon as he sees the man the stag roars in fright himself and takes off.

    • @broadsideoutdoorsnz1445
      @broadsideoutdoorsnz1445  4 года назад +3

      I see how you'd get that impression mate! Thats me roaring a stag in to show a first time hunter what its all about. Thats the hunter saying "f-off" as he's pretty scared! I roared at the stag when he was super close to give it a fright and vacate to calm my man down... Cheers!

    I know you fellows do this not only for sport but to feed your family but I can't help but feel for this magnificent animal and it's sheer mass it was as frightenind of you as you were of it what a roar it's just crazy the sound that they make did you say don't shoot it at the start

    • @Jake.The.Snake.
      @Jake.The.Snake. 3 года назад +2

      Yes he did say that at the start of the clip, and I also briefly felt empathy for this creature as well, but I reminded myself that this creature is only this massive because it's at the end of a long life; unfortunately this majestic creature will soon succumb to an injury from fighting for mating rights, disease, or natural predation - all of which are incredibly slow and painful ways to die. To hunt these large(older) herbivorous animals, is truly a mercy to them.

    • @markwhelan9887
      @markwhelan9887 3 года назад +1

      @@Jake.The.Snake. I understand your logic but I can't help but feel it's pain especially not being aware of the impending doom. It's just me im not for one second saying it's wrong, as that's your call it's you that lives with your actions, and im sure if you can provide your family with food or sustenance from this mighty beast, it is well worth it. Ps when I heard the F_ckoff, I instantly was reminded just how similar our slang words are, both Australia 🇦🇺 and also magnificent New Zealand, 🇳🇿alike, are unlike other countries, full of mystery and treasures, that are unique to the said lands. It would be simply magnificent to visit, the Land of the long white cloud. Your forests are a sight to behold.

    • @relicthominoid
      @relicthominoid 2 года назад +2

      It is also worth noting that we're talking about New Zealand here, where all of the deer are actually invasive species introduced for hunting (ie they dont have any natural predators) so human involvement is necessary to keep numbers low to protect native ecosystems. Don't get me wrong though, I love deer, and especially our mighty red deer and I do agree with you, and I'd wager most ethical hunters probably do too.

      @DangerRussDayZ6533 7 лет назад +2

      That's just a lame excuse. Sure you eat it, but that is generally not why you kill it. People need to start calling it what it is, trophy hunting. Nobody brags about killing a 3 point buck. They want as many points as possible on large racks. That certainly doesn't affect the meat. It's for the trophy, for the prestige.
