I have officially made a blog post with all the measurements listed here: tamarasjoy.com/drawstring-backpack-4-ways/ This will make it easier to refer to as you are sewing your backpack! Happy Sewing!
My nephew who is 54 sent me his childhood NFL curtains that were purchased at Sears Roebuck! He wanted drawstring backpacks for his college and high school kids who run track so they could easily carry track shoes, small towel and change of shirt. I made four of the #4 backpacks out of the curtains! Love your easy to follow directions. Have to go to Hobby Lobby tomorrow and get the rope and then they are all done to be delivered on Wednesday!
Absolutely love this tutorial. So easy to follow. I actually made two of these for my twin great nieces and I combined number three with adding a pocket from number four. They turned out adorable. I also embroidered their name on the lower half of the front of the bag.
Thank you for an awesome detailed tutorial and I your blog with all the measurements and steps to follow. You've got yourself a new subscriber from Cape Town, South Africa❤.
Thank you! I’m excited about making the fourth bag (28:08), but with the made straps. I’m going to make them for our local Christmas charity. Four days later I made bag #4 with purple unicorn fabric. It’s so cute. Your instructions are perfect. Thank you so much. I hope you enjoy teaching the world to sew.
Great job on the videos. I just made the bag in #4 video. My first time making a draw string bag. And I love the box corners and lining for these bags.
Thanks! I made #3 without lace and added a hook and pocket from #4. It turned out great!! My girls like it a lot so now i need to make another one. So they can each have one.
Thank you! I am happy to get back to being creative in my sewing room. It was much desired after a busy summer with the boys ☺️💜 And I am so glad you commented! I missed reading your kind encouraging words!
Hi Sue! I would do the first or second version and make sure to do the rope straps because the length can be adjusted to fit nicely after the fact. If you want it smaller, you could cut the whole thing down a few inches. But kids grow quickly so I don't think it's necessary. Happy Sewing!
