I was half expecting to see how 24 Lely Astronauts actually worked, from labour handling. I was expecting to see cow's, roaming out in the paddock!😂🤣 I'm going organic vertical hydroponics and aeroponic farmer. I truly will treat my fruits and veggies with lots of love and light. Literately!😋 It's interesting and all the best.
Robots must be going cheap in NZ. The point of producing grass based milk (for the farmer) is that its cheaper and efficient, he's right that regulations are going to change how we do things in a big way (especially notable to NZseeing as it is they have feck all restrictions) but in my opinion keeping the animal indoors year round and milking of feed only isnt the way and isnt right.🇮🇪
Very similiar here in Vancouver . Fraser Vally is all Native Dutch Dairy Farmers . Very similiar methods !! I can’t imagine what you save on fence upkeep every year 😂🙈
Typically Lely systems have id/tag recognition, that will allow entry to milking after a lapsed time from last milking. These systems are typically "voluntary", although this is an odd concept as once into a lactation and fed high yielding TMR, the cows really don't have much "choice" as they have to get milked to relieve the build up in udders. While swanky and modern, these zero grazing systems fall into the intensive category. Public perception is often wildly off the mark with agriculture in general, however, 365 housed livestock and intensive systems get their bad press for very good reason.
wheres the pasture the cows can go out on? why dont you show quality of the herd by showing how they are laying out on pasture??? looks like your just about MONEY not cow comfort
Hate to break it to you but farming is a business and money is one of the main objectives. If cows are the slight bit unhappy in any system they'll show it by producing low milk yields to eventually none. If the system in the viedo is allowing cows to produce high milk yields, it means the cows are very happy. Constant supply of fresh food, dry clean bed from the elements, the cows are quite happy.
No such thing as kiwi pure they give palm kernel extract to cows and use urea on there grass which has the isotope cadmium which is radioactive ☢️ were all fucked and it’s only a matter of time before you get cancer

That’s your opinion, if you judge a cow off of production you’d be wrong. And a happy healthy cow milks more so I don’t see your point
Amazing to see how many cows do you milk with the astronauts?

Is it strictly voluntarily the cows coming to the robots or does the robots supplement the conventional milking parlor

the only way to make MONEY in the dairy industry is to make sure cows are AS COMFORTABLE AS POSSIBLE or else they wont make any milk

Well it's environmentalism alright: you're building the perfect environment for pathogens.
