I fancy i'd have a sounding pole to feel the bottom in there. Having said that, wild horses wouldn't drag me in there. Great video...........Cheers

Always a great underground adventure. I listen with headphones to hear the acoustics properties change as the team moves through the mines. It can change dramatically, adds to the experience. Thank You!

Great exploration guys, looks and feels pretty cold. I like the “teeth” minerals, pity the miners never really found much, all the digging and hard work for very little reward.

Thanks for another great video. I'm sure I'll get myself a copy of Ioan's latest book sooner or later.
It was interesting to see those quartz veins at the start. Last week I was helping to re-point the slate block walls of Ty Mawr bridge on the Talyllyn Railway (TR) and I was interested to see quartz veins on the ends of some of the slate blocks there. Slate waste blocks became a readily available building material after the TR opened in 1865. Thus they were used when Ty Mawr bridge was built to replace a level crossing.
The rail section shown in the video really is a very heavy section for a mine adit. I wonder if those particular rails became available cheaply, after a local railway either closed, or upgraded its track or just ordered too much new rail.

Very interesting & fun video to watch! Any deeper you will have been swimming through the mine. Nice clear water better than our rivers. ❤😊

What amazes me is the amount of hard Labour that goes into driving these Mines, for such little reward.
What were the wages back then.? 6d to 12d (sixpence to a Shilling per month?) Equates to around one Pound a year.!?
Getting on for 200 years ago, that would be a good wage.

You maniacs should have way more subscribers. This is way out of the norm. Nobody spends as much time in the water as this team. Would you ever rope up in case of holes or false floors.
