Hey iskall, this is quite a common misconception about monsters triggering shriekers. Tango has pointed out that it is not possible for any monster to trigger a shrieker and generate clank
Mobs can trigger sculk sensors, but only players-made sounds can trigger the shriekers that the sensors are connected to, and clank is detected by shriekers
Imagine mobs being able to trigger shrieker, that would mean a warden would be able to spawn in areas where there's a naturally generated shrieker close to a non deep dark biome :D
It would also mean that Wardens could trigger shriekers and spawn more Wardens and that's an exponential nightmare no one wants! @@Mortexize
Don't open the stairs to the level below if you don't have business down there. It switches so all loot drops down there
Came here to say the same thing
Guys dont get ur hopes ups hes just gonna abandon us for another 3 months
@@andrewwill8368he did not "abandon". Some serious stuff went down and yt burn out was also present.
@@andrewwill8368get outta here with that negativity. Let the man have a life, he doesn’t live to serve you. You obviously have no idea that people can have multiple priorities or obstacles in life.
@@ryanrudi but he lives to serve God
Tango had initially not wanted hermits to watch other people's DO runs and wanted everyone to learn on their own. He just kind of gave up on that because everyone enjoyed watching other people so much. So you're playing the way it was meant to be played!
Tango is so exasperated by all of the hermits not being as ruthless and guarded as he was hoping 😂. They’re all sharing tips, paying coins forward, watching each other’s runs… hermits can’t help but help each other
Tango probably also enjoyed watching the hermits run, so he can't really deny them xD
Other people didn't refuse to read books about how to play the game though, him trying to figure out the rules instead of reading them is frustrating.
With one important caveat: You can watch other runs via streams, but freecam is against the rules. Tango doesn't want people accidentally seeing secrets when they clip into the walls.
@@rileyenginerd4154and doc was using it to watch iskall's run. I hate that the hermits were explicitly told not to do that but they still do anyway...
That last run was incredible but such a heartbreaking ending
Yes
If only he would’ve got the berries at the campsite
I think he overgreeded a bit (and wasted time cause excitment). It was still a great run
I died inside lol wanted him to get a win
Spoilers
My favorite thing about Iskall is, whether he is playing vault hunters or decked out, if he dies he usually just laughs it off. No anger or frustration just laughing
That last run was so heartbreaking. Hopefully you will get another chance at the Bionic Eye of Doom
Agreed. I was in so much pain at the end as iskall took the long way around to the exit and died because of it :(. oh well - you die and you learn I guess
@@theemumeister3887 pretty sure the shortcut was a hazard door
Shriekers only react to players, so you don't have to worry about bats or ravagers increasing clank. I'm also sure a lot of people will mention: when you use a key or open a door back up, it swaps treasure/embers to only drop on the next floor you're "going to." So you deactivated all your level 1 treasure drops on the run where you tossed in the key "for fun"
Tango confirmed that only players will set off shriekers
yeah you can see bats and ravagers setting off the sensors, which is what causes the confusion, but shriekers only go off for player movement or other player actions
It's such a clever use of that mechanic too ngl
@Ironsight_Army Does eating set them off , or does he have it set to only react to footsteps?
@@rfresa Yes. Any player action that makes noise
2:05 Scar only had to buy 4 Victory Tomes to get 6 points. It is placement based and is now explained in the book to the right of the scoreboard.
As tango said, 3 or 4 victory times for a first place in phase 1 is worth the same as 20 tomes for first place in phase 8. Victory tomes are more valuable early on as there is less competition, so you have to balance getting a few tomes in early on for some easy points, or to build your deck and hope to win later phases
Yes but Iskall doesn't read books lol

Tell tango about the ice pond trap. He'll trade a shard to keep it a secret 😊
After yesterday's stream most of the hermits know. Lol
@@liamengram6326 He still said he'd refund hermits that get trapped
@@___Alastor___ He said that last phase. He already said no refunded shards anymore unless the dungeon is broken. The refunds last week were to keep it a secret so more Hermits got trapped. It's very easy to see that a chest is trapped. Skill issue.
@@liamengram6326 The hermits have a level of trust that the shard is definitely not needed to keep it a secret. It's a refund for the funny but unfair death.
@@theroboman727 Tango LITERALLY said it was hush money, and several hermits already learned about that pond through others on the sand digging stream the other day. Let's just say some Hermits were watching Joe when he triggered it, and other Hermits heard about it from them before any hush money could be paid out.
Victory tomes go in the ShulkerBox and then are immediately removed via a hopper. This lets Tango count them on the backed, so be sure to put your tomes in the shulker box before the end of the week.
or save them for when you think you have a shot at being top 3 for that week
@@ZombiezKey I think victory tomes depreciate in value each phase
@@ab-mc2nq They don't. You can collect them in any phase and then put them in a box all to0gether 3 or 4 phases later and they still all count.
@@mementomori5580 yes you could do that, but people are more likely to have more tomes in later phases, so a single tome counts for less as phases progress
@@mementomori5580 Plus you also dont get points, victory tome count is for points if you dont submit them you dont get points in that phase and the points from each phase are added to your win. So if you try to keep the tomes you lose out on points each phase and you have no chance to earn points for the win if you stash them into one phase
Also clank has absolutely no effect until it's maxxed out, so don't worry about leaving your artifact until the end. Tango himself has recommended getting it before greeding for loot so that you can judge it better.

That last run was so heartbreaking!! With the dodging you did in the mushroom forest, you totally deserved a W there!
agreed!
The best part of Decked out 2 is that as far as I can tell Tango does not care if you exploit the game mechanics like Hypno or Etho, or if you run blind like Iskall. As long as you play the game and have fun while at it he is the happiest man alive.
What did Hypno and Etho do?
@@Randomname9094 oh hypno did so many things, he basically found so many cheats for parkour challenges in level 2 , tango had to change them quite a bit
He does care. He just is not shutting everything down to fix it or taking anything away that they did. He has already stated that some of the cards are going to be heavily nerfed because of those 2.
@@rainmaker709 exactly this
I haven't seen anyone else go through that painting yet (although I'm not caught up on all the videos) so I was super excited to see someone finally go through! I wonder if there's treasure/an egg hidden in there or if it really is just a shortcut.
It is just a shortcut you can refer to Hypno's video where he was completely blocked from progressing due to hazard blocks and a ravager and had a chat with tango about it and tango added a path so that they can progress at the cost of a few hearts (there still might be some secrets hidden but it is added very recently)
@cosmicdevil1746 Thank you! :)
Yeah, I've caught up on hypno's vids now :D I think it's a great addition!
A little bit of info that should be on an FAQ:
1. Bats and other mobs can't trigger shriekers, they trigger the skulk sensor but it doesn't give you clank.
2. You have to get the artifact either way to collect your loot, so 3 clank now or 3 clank later makes no difference. Having the freedom to book it whenever you want is probably optimal: you want to get the artifact out of the way ASAP and then hang around for a long as you reasonably can.
Untrue: Max clank stops treasure/embers from dropping, so you really want to loot first then get the artifact and go.
@@myrandamiller91max clank is supposed to kill you (but vexes are dumb) so ideally you are closer to the exit when you hit max clank so his strat is more optimal.
3. Dont open doors to lower levels, if you dont need to, as treasure will start to be distributed down there and you will get less on your level.
Adding Sneak cards to the deck and getting the artifact after they're played could prevent the clank.
That was such a pro ravager dodge in the ice chasm room! I haven't seen anyone successfully pull that off yet!
Was just thinking this.
*cough* hypnotized doing 5 pro ravanger doges on level 2 *cough*
the ice chasm, the geode, looping them round the mushrooms. iskall's so good at dancing round them and pushing on even when the situation looks rough
yeah but idk why he cant get a single win i think hes just bad tbh@@KatieWillems
yeah this place seems like a death trap when the doors close off, geode as well
so satisfying watching iskall dance around the ravagers in dead end rooms/scenarios. your runs are really fun!
I think learning on your own and not watching other hermits play is totally the right call. More immersion
Your jukes are SO GOOD. You handled those ravagers like a pro!
Why does that ‘like a pro’ sound like Stress’ voice in my head 😂😂😂
Vault hunters instinct lol
None of the passive mobs or ravager cause skulkers to trigger. Tango explained on a stream.
I'm guessing all the sensors are the calibrated ones. Which means that Tango has set them so the redstone signals are only registered with a player made noise.
@@coolwizard22if I recall correctly they do trigger the Sensors, but shriekers don't get triggered by signals from mobs
@@coolwizard22 Not all. Even though sculk sensors go off, the shriekers do not trigger unless it is a player since only players can make wardens spawn. These being moved, will not spawn wardens of course. No calibration needed.
Guys dont get ur hopes ups hes just gonna abandon us for another 3 months
@@coolwizard22 He didn't have any calibrated sensors when building stage 1 and 2.
Every time you set off a shrieker it increases clank. So avoid shrieker locations or sneak near them
This comment needs more upvotes, a lot of the top comments (while helpful) are repeating the same things.
shrieker locations are unknown
@@macronevicktorif you hear shrieking then you're near a shrieker lol
@@ahmed4363It's good to remember shrieker locations but it's always randomized according to Tango, some shriekers are activated and some are deactivated. In short you won't get a shrieker shriek in the same location always, in every run😅
(Just shows how complex the redstone of this game is!)
Same remark. Running and jumping is okay, but please don't run & jump on locations that do have a shrieker, once you have triggered them once.
I realy enjoy watching iskall discover Decked Out at his own pace. Seeing him going in blind, realizing things on his own and learning is realy fun
"I don't want to read books, I want to learn!" he said while looking directly at the chest that's about to make you learn not to trust Tango.
First Doc with the trapdoor and now iskall with the ice trap, what a time to be Alive
On the plus side, he did discover that painting secret, which I don't think anyone's found yet.
that ice trap is cruel. On a level 2 run too.
Keralis also got drowned :D
Its so hilarious that he's like, 4th victim
@@bowxfire5275Tango will refund you the shard for that trap if you let him know and keep it secret from the others.
Level 2 is a bit rough if you get ravagers on the left side, as there's often 2-3, and there's no terrain to juke them with. Props on getting out of that spider mess, even if it was with a stuck ravager - I don't think any other Hermit survives there.
Mad respect for iskall for juking all the ravegers in the dead end spots.
Make sure you record each run. The system for distributing shards is based on your performance as tracked in the community document. If you have a run that isn't shared or streamed, you might want to message tango and let him know if you escaped the dungeon and how many members you had at the end. Tomes are now just for gaining victory points based on your standings and do not impact shards in future weeks.
That last run!! My butt was clenched the entire time, I can't believe you were so close! I almost physically screamed "No!!" it was that intense!
Just as a heads up, treasure and frost embers drop on the deepest level you have opened. So if you put the key in for level 2 all your drops will be in level 2
Just a correction, it does not indefinitely drop at the deepest level, when u press the button to come back to upper stage, it switches back
@@soumyadityaagarwalla1517correct, hence why the doors do not stay open and require a button press to get out. If there was another way to track the players whereabouts then Tango could have left the doors open once opened, but alas we do not have another way in vanilla survival for redstone to gather player location without player interaction...
Height of snow layers has nothing to do with the number of tomes Scar collected. It's related to his rank compared to the others. He could have got 100 tomes and still have the same height as you can't get higher than first! 😉
The reverse is also true. 100 tomes in the last week will only give a certain number of snow layers
That last run made my heartrate go higher than on a rollercoaster, I think Tango should give out extra shards for achievements like "most heartbreaking run of the week"
Picking up the artifact does give you clank, but you need to pick it up anyway. So it really doesn't matter when you pick it up, unless you can time it with some clank block. I'd say the best strategy is to pick it up early, so you know where you are at heart-beat wise, and then go looting afterwards. But opinions may differ.
15:45 Your paths were blocked due to HAZARD you need more sneak and hazard block if you are planning to keep jumping around 33:58
The ship run was fantastic! You were there one second and gone the next without any warning whatsoever. 😯That was my favorite death by far! Great playstyle!
You are doing so well! Good job on exploring the second level and finding creative ways to dodge the ravagers. You'll be speeding it in no time.
The Hermits discovering the spiders cracks me up every time.
Incredible. Frost walker trap, level 2 exploration, first one-eyed Willie kill
Skipping victory tomes was actually big brained, as it didn't end up factoring into how many shards were awarded for week 2. Though you will need to catch up on points still.
Yes but in the end all people are gonna be buying alot of victory tomes so if he doesn't start stacking now he might not be able to catch up
So entertaining. May not have been as successful as you wanted, but I love watching these runs. Hope you're able to build out that deck more next time!
That was so much fun! Those last couple of runs had me on the edge of my seat!
In terms of skill I think you're a front runner. I don't think I've seen any other hermit successfully juke a ravager in the ice room next to the key room. Really impressed. I also really appreciate you editing out most of the uninteresting parts of your runs.
Thoroughly enjoyed the episode! Avoiding those 2 ravagers in the mushroom forest was awesome! So glad to have you back on HC :) I missed your humour and positivity. Tango is reimbursing Frozen Shards for those that fall for the water trap.
Only because Mrs. T told him he had to. He is soooo whipped. LOLZ 😂
Hey Diskall don't you think Tango will be smart enough to take care of bats??
Sculk sensors have different signal strength for different activities.... So only player activities increase clank
I'm pretty sure you had frozen shards in your deck box and they were lost when you did your first run. The 11 you had was given to you by tango at the end of phase 1. I think it says frozen shards when you hover over your deck box with the mouse at the beginning of the video.
1:24 It's a card not shards.
Something you might not be getting quite right is that the artifact value is not based on the level it's on but the difficulty you select so if you go for medium, both lvl. 1 and lvl. 2 could have a 21 ember artifact, it's just that a lvl. 2 deposit place has a higher chance of giving you a higher value artifact but both could give you anything between 16 and 21 embers ( no deposit location has a fixed artifact it gives every time, which artifact you get from it is randomised once you throw in the compas )
tango has said once you put a key in to go to the next level all the treasure drops are moved to the next level. so if you don't need to go to a lower floor don't open the door.
Iskall: good at vaults with changing maps and super buffer mobs on a time limit.
Also iskall: fails nearly every dungeon run in decked out 2 despite it being a changing map with beefy mobs on a time limit.
Love watching these runs! You had some of the best “fail” runs I’ve seen! Getting a lot better!
20 ways to fail, but different 😂
My favourite moment was when you got the bionic eye and you got so excited! "That's my artifact! That's an iskall!"
The man the myth the iskall ❤
Doc let slip on stream yesterday (Cub, False, Ren, and Hypno were streaming and Etho joined as well) that you got the latest Easter Egg and I’m so excited to find out who its is and where!!
Is it a possibility that playing the original decked out is what inspired Iskall to create vault hunters? There are a decent few correlations between the two…
Vault hunters came before decked out I think
No because he said he was planning vault hunters since s5 of HC
an extraction looter game is a fairly well established idea, but the first decked out would definitely have provided a good model for how it would work in minecraft and would likely have significantly affected the final outcome of vault hunters
Vault hunters has its own gimmick of risking all your equipment. I haven't seen this idea much. The only two games I can remember is EVE Online and Escape from Tarkov.
Diablo inspired VH, Decked out came way later
"I don't know if it's worth getting those berries, I'm so close to home"
- Get's instantly punished
Watching your decked out runs is a lot of fun! You may not know everything about the game yet, but you are clearly enjoying it and that comes across in your videos :) I am looking forward to watching this one and seeing some more runs.
34:02
Clank is the thing that increases the heart beat and make vexes appear.
Hazard is the closing of passages and activation of traps.
Interesting! Normaly if you use a key to unlock level 2, Tango programmed the game to stop dropping treasure on level 1 and drop it on level 2 instead. But after you used the key and stayed on level 1, it continued dropping treasure on level 1. I wonder if that's a bug or if he programmed in an additional check to see if the player is on level 1 still.
Maybe treasure drops switch to whatever floor the most recent shrieker was tripped on? No idea if that’s how Tango did it, but *if* he did it, that’s probably how
Iskall makes the most entertaining decked out runs. The ravager dodging is the best I've seen too
Keep the decked out runs coming! I love watching them
39:50 that's why you sneak it delays the vex... At least sneak before going down
Try not to worry about people saying you're doing poorly at decked out 2, everybody doesn't have to play it the same way or play perfectly, your runs are fun to watch and you are doing fine, also you look like you're having fun.
“I had to call people, it was scary” is such a vibe, I want this on a tshirt or something
Its maybe cringe. But your optimism is awesome! Thank you Iskall for it in these hard days, even tho we don't know eachother thank you for everything.
No cringe. Positivity needs to be shared. Hope your day goes well, fellow Iskallian!
This is legit my favorite episode of Hermitcraft Season 9 now...
I love all the personality in how you all are editing your runs. Your super sped up entrance ride into the dungeon is so you and it is fantastic.
WOW!!! You’re the first person I’ve seen to survive the spiders!! The SKILL!!!!!!!
That Vex death when you had your own artifact hurt SO MUCH after all the effort that went into juking the ravagers in level 2...
14:41 That might be a legit (Cheese) technique: Make all the ravagers chase you, run "into the Spider Verse"™ ;P
...Probably die, then run the dungeon again on "3 Hard", and get to the 2'nd floor before the ravagers have got loose again ;P :D
Keys are considered "Treasures" & having additional Treasure Hunter Cards will help get a CHANCE of a key dropping sooner.
From what Tango told Etho, the +Treasure and +Frost Ember cards add chances for the rolls to treasure/frost embers to drop, so you may not get any drops or you may MAX LUCK roll the abosulte top number of rolls dropping the max amount of embers/treasure.
Iskall you're amazing! Don't let the dumb comments get to you, you're awesome and doing just fine!
Also, I love your POV of Decked Out. Looking foreard to more videos.
Iskall! That last run! You did such an amazing maneuver in the mushroom area, dodging TWO ravagers! And then die 15 blocks away from the exit! My heart broke for you, but you're getting better and better really fast! Keep it up!
Iskall's biggest mistakes summarized (spoiler free):
1) Bats don't generate clank, they only trigger the skulk sensor, says Tango
2) Buying a victory tome at the beginning of a new fase
3) Opening the caves of carnage when you are searching for a level 1 artifact, it will stop treasure and frost embers spawning on level 1
4) You can't use F5 in the dungeon
5) Remember your exit route and don't run straight into ravagers
6) The value of your artifact is random but the odds of getting a higher value artifact get better when you select a greater difficulty. For example you can get 'death loop' for 13 frost embers on easy difficulty and that is on the higher end for easy difficulty, but you can also get it when selecting medium difficulty and getting a comparatively easy artifact in the caves of carnage, but there you just got unlucky.
Please learn from your mistakes, your last run was great!
Is it just me or does Iskall take the LONGEST routes on his way out? So many times I’ve thought cool yeah he’ll be out now, then he does a few more (unnecessary) turns, and dies…
Hey Iskall! I would be great if you could show your deck for a second before starting a run. PS: Greatly enjoying your runs and your editing style. Especially the part where fast forward irrelevant travel just like the you do it for Vault Hunters.
Holy cow, Iskall is so good at dodging the ravagers! Probably the most skilled of any hermit I've watched play. Guess that's from all that speedy vault running in VH.
I feel like Iskall is really good at running, but he keeps dying because he also pushes his luck much further than most of the other hermits. Which is cool because he seems to be learning the game super fast, but also sad because he's not getting any rewards for it. I want to see him get some wins for all those great runs! I would love to see him get to build his deck out further and what he could do with more buffs on his side in the dungeon. Crossing my fingers that the dungeon is nicer to him next time.
Also I would absolutely love to see Iskall do some runs at a time when Tango is online. I really want to see his reaction to Iskall's crazy jukes. Listening to his commentary would be gold.
Not reading the instructions is different from watching other people´s videos. You gotta read the instructions to play any game. It´s better to build your deck if you are behind anyways, the shard give away policy changed. Also, the bats don´t increase clank because they don´t activate the shriekers, only players do.
Avoiding all the other hermits' videos is totally fine and even encouraged, but my dude, you are massively shooting yourself in the foot by ignoring all of the information TANGO has provided outside the how to play video - for example, the sounds tutorial right outside the leaderboard hallway, which will tell you what all the dings and hoots and gongs mean so you have better awareness of what's happening in the game. You might also want to rewatch the video now that you've done a few runs; it will help clarify some of the things you might have missed at first amidst the information overload (like the difference between clank and hazard).
Some advice:
1. You should watch all your runs again and look for errors and missed opportunities. It also helps to get familiar with the map layout. Because you could have made it back in your last run, if you went straight instead of turning right where you passed the Vex.
2. You already started doing this but think at the beginning of the run where you want to leave the ravagers. Because it is easy to loop when all the doors are open, but it sucks if you return and the only open path is blocked by a ravager.
3. As you also figured out, there are zones for the ravagers, which they cannot leave. Use one run to figure out the different zones and how many ravagers are in each zone. This helps alot with your planning, when you know that you have passed all ravagers of a zone.
But it is really impressive how you looped around the ravagers on level 2. You have everything to become one of the best, with a bit more map knowledge and a better understanding of the game mechanics.
Nice runs, not so lucky but maybe try to build deck better first. And if find over 20 embers artifact, run back. Everytime must get to exit, even from below levels. Love this ❤
3:45 bats trigger shulk sensors BUT this wont hurt you because it is ONLY a player that also activates nearby sculk shriekers. They can fly around the sensors all day (and they will activate them) but until a player walks by the signal for the shrieker wont happen (and thats what gives you crank.)
Heads up. The bats and other dungeon mobs can't increase your clank. The noise they make can't trigger shriekers because of the way vanilla Minecraft works. That's what Tango has said anyway.
Hey iskall, i watched Tango8s stream and noticed the button in the winning/returning ravenger room allows you to escape it, and if you do you get a trophy. But love your videos❤❤
Hallo Iskall,
Please please show us the rules to decked out. I really respect that you’re a pro at VH and can just figure out the navigation and finding your artifact. But there’s other stuff going on that the rules will help us and maybe you with understanding.
Stop jumping. Could have made that last run. But Iskall kept on jumping the entire time. Jump is half the hunger of sprinting a block.
Knowing what the cards does would help though 😅😂 Sneak blocks 2 clank. Stumble generates 2 clank. Artifact generates 3 clank
How was Doc watching Iskall run the dungeon? I just checked his Twitch and Iskall hasn’t streamed any DO2 runs (or at least that I could see).
Awesome runs Iskall. That last one was so tense.
Tip for you: DO drops treasure on the lvl it thinks you are currently at. So when you put in the key for LVL2 it starts dropping treasure down there, and stops dropping treasure on LVL1. So do not put the key in unless you intend on going down
Iskall reminds me of my buddy, he always skips the tutorial in every game then complains its to confusing or he struggling to much and i sit there like.
"yeah? i wonder why?"
iskall hermitcraft is great
decked out is great
iskall playing decked out is AMAZING
Hah, calling home internet support = scary, but making a video, post it to 200k people... not scary?
Tome should go in the shulker. And I don‘t think avoiding the artifact at the beginning is a useful strategy. Clank only really affects you when it is maxed out and you have to get the artifact anyways.
Iskall please share your Complimentary Shaders settings, your discord settings are outdated. Thank you
Iskall if you are reading this, you probably didn't have to go very far in level 2 in medium difficulty. If you font get your articact very close to door of level 2 go from the pther door. Its usually very very close
Mobs such as bats don't trigger shreikers. They only trigger sensors, which don't do anything regarding your clank level.
Me: I will sleep tonight because I have school tomorrow
Iskall and Grian uploads
Me: anyways
Wait... so doc was watching iskall with free cam? But that way he will know all the layout of the map... i didnt like that... hermits shouldnt be allowed to use free cam near Decked Out...
39:22 There was a shortcut forward, but it is not always open cause of the hazard(It leads right next to the exit, and you would've probably made it if you took it).
don’t spend TOO long building a deck before going for points.
Each victory tomb? tome? (I don’t remember which way it’s spelt) isn’t worth a point. It’s the top 3 people with the most tomes who are award points based off their PLACING. Not how many tomes they submitted. Tomes are for placement. Placement determines points.
Confirmed by Tango that bats do NOT set off clank. While the sensors recognize their movement, shriekers are not set off by them.
Iskall isn't having a good time in Decked Out. Like I'm genuinely surprised since it's not too dissimilar to Vault Hunters
you shouldn't have the brightness as bright as you have it now, it takes away from the experience and doesn't look natural.
Victory tomes are just as worthwhile to buy in any phase, because while you will have less frost embers to buy them with the same is true for the other hermits as well. And the ranking in a phase is purely based on competition. Building up your deck is good but the more everybody else is focusing on that, the better it is to buy a few victory tomes in a phase and get an easy phase win in early. Your snowball will still be just as potent, just delayed a bit, but the growth rate will be the same once you get it going again.
