Adding some context (for the -2 people who care) since at 12:20 Ray said 45 was a weird number for an RB. He was originally a fullback but in 2012 every other RB for Iowa got hurt, so he had to go in. Turns out he was actually pretty good so he stayed at RB in 13.

@@skid439 I’m an Iowa fan, so I just knew. We even had a name for it/all the injuries. Angry Iowa Running Backing Hating God AKA AIRBHG.
It should also be noted that in college football, there are no restrictions on certain positions using certain numbers, just recommendations.
That is not true in the NFL, where your position has long limited the range of numbers you can wear (though those restrictions were greatly relaxed going into the 2023 season.)
@@irishjet2687 well there is one rule, if we’re getting technical. An offense must A) field 5 players numbered 50-79 B) Those numbers must be on the line and be ineligible receivers and C) Any players that exceed those 5 that also those numbers must report as eligible to an official before the play.

I think Freshman difficulty nerfs the defense. While Heisman the defense might be too strong. So maybe the middle difficulty will make both equally valid? It's like we're running a science experiment with this game at this point.
I definitely think the gap between freshman offense and Heismann offense is smaller than the gap between defense difficulties
I would rather see alot of offense in these videos and have high scoring games than defensive battles. So I like the freshman difficulty, but that's just my opinion.
@@KJBrown883 While I agree for the most part, I think the defenses were a bit too incompetent. There were so many dropped potential interceptions.

3:43:41 Shadows over Loathing has settings for Arachnophobia (you won't encounter any spiders), Arachnophilia (you will encounter *so many* spiders), and Arachnophonia (all combat sounds will be replaced with spider noises). West of Loathing and Shadows over Loathing are both fantastic, check 'em out!

Honestly with the fact that we've used every team, doing a worst of the worst is a great idea. You get to see the teams, besides Rutgers, that played like one game.

if scaled up but still assuming 2:56 left it's 8.539 which is 91st percentile since '99

Never disappoints. I hope the new one has Mascot Mode. If not you could always play/emulate NHL Hits 2002. It doesn't technically have a Mascot Mode, but you can unlock (buy) special characters. You just have to play through the game to get them or download a save file with all of them unlocked. Either way I will always be looking forward to a Mascot Tournament.

Game 1 had probably the most dominant performance in one of these tournaments I've ever seen. Between the juggernaut HB #45 and the perfect QB, Iowa was unstoppable. Sure, we've had worse blowouts with the winning team even scoring more than Iowa had this game, but those games involve a really weak second team that'd fumble or give the ball away for easy TDs with pick-sixes. Fresno didn't make any major mistakes like that. Iowa's offense was just absurd.

The least realistic part of this video is not the mascots succumbing to heat stroke but Iowa having a good offense.
What if for the toilet bowl II (?) The losing team of each game is the team that moves on, thus the winner of the tourney is actually the biggest loser.

So I don't really follow sports IRL. When I first saw TCU's "horned frog" mascot, I thought "that doesn't look like a frog". Apparently it's supposed to be a horned lizard, but they call them horned frogs. I guess people in Texas (or at least the people at Texas Christian University) don't know the difference between a frog and a lizard.
