Beautiful little car. Unfortunately, Volkswagen is legendary for not giving the North American market what they ask for, or what European markets get. People wanted a VR6 AWD New Beetle practically since the NB's introduction. It was teased at with concept cars and race cars by VW, but it never happened. Perhaps if Volkswagen would be a little less condescending and taunting, people would take their lovely concepts more seriously.
After my last car (jetta) I can't stand veedubs with a passion! Dumbest fuckin car company ever! Everything failed on it and was insanely expensive to fix simple shit that had to be purchased thru the dealership also bmw I owned was the same way! I don't know why any1 thinks german cars are good nothing but problems. And every1 who's owned them knows what I'm talkin about
110 mile range with a recharge time of 35 minutes. I wouldn't buy that line, except this is a 'concept' car, so it will never have to prove it's claim. It can probably also cook a complete roast beef supper in the time it takes you to commute home, and convert sea water into Pepsi at 3 glasses/ minute.

I just bought a red 2012 beetle turbo. I think a chick would look funny driving this car. How many girls do you see driving a turbo vehicle with carbon fiber interior? And racing gauges?

straight electric will never will.. The range is to short and rechange is to long. The auto maker really need to look the the diesel/eletrics.

Actually, It would be the other way around considering the history behind them both. The Porsche is just a VW on steroids.
@andeleputo89 Porsche and VW are like distant cousins. The first VW beetle was designed Ferdinand Porsche. the rest is self explanatory.
@motapapi I don't know i think it's very similiar to an 1950's porsche speedster. Not an exact copy, but quite similiar though...
That's funny. It looks good, but with a electric motor and a girly back ground. I'm not getting it. Way better than any FORD product.
@doormagic Because this is the DETROIT Auto Show in the US and we still haven't converted to metric. Not yet anyway.

If you make a 2 seater, Hot Hatch electric car. Make it fast, not comparable to the leaf.
