Funny how a woman asked me what I did for a living, and I told her that I worked for a Government Agency that paid me close to 50k a year. She told me that I was broke, but I NEVER told her about my residual income that made that government job look like pennies on a dollar. She thought I was only bringing in under 50k a year when in all reality, I was bringing home close to 200k a year in Alabama. One of the top 7 poorest states in the Union. This is why I don't share everything with any woman I just met.

You can afford vacations and a nice home and kids and cars, etc. All of that and you still have a retirement stash. Upper Middle means you are a little rich. You are prolly in the 1% and have over 250k coming in. It's a matter of perspective and where you live really, imho. 70k might be upper middle class in Alabama. In NYC, 70k makes you the working poor, aka "lower middle class."

As far as working in fast food goes, I worked in fast food for more than 10 years of my life, and I am not ashamed of it. And yeah, I flipped burgers, received inventory, cleaned, and said "would you like fries with that shake?" but what I really did, was teach (I am essentially a teacher, at heart) which, for the record, was done on my time, mostly, without pay---And I loved it. Watching other people develop, and grow; developing skills that they can take with them, when they leave, seeing the light in their eyes, when they "get it,"---nothing else is like this feeling---And this is the reason that I stayed, as long as I did. You don't have to be rich, you don't have to be well-known, you don't even have to have a high paying job, to be a high value man. One last thing; the most high value woman that I ever met, was my mother🙏
