I had pure maple syrup in the fridge for 3yrs
and just finished off. I had no problems. Here's some info that I found. Sorry for the all caps, that's the part that I just copied and pasted. I hope this helps.
MAPLE SYRUP MOULD (OR BLOOM) IS ACTUALLY MORE COMMON THAN YOU MAY THINK - ESPECIALLY IN 100% PURE MAPLE SYRUP.
DO NOT THROW IT AWAY - YOUR MAPLE SYRUP IS COMPLETELY SALVAGEABLE.
THE MOULD THAT GROWS ON MAPLE SYRUP IS A RARE, WEIRD LITTLE FUNGUS KNOWS AS A XEROPHILE.
THIS MEANS YOU DON’T NEED TO THROW AWAY YOUR MOULDY MAPLE SYRUP. SIMPLY SKIM OFF THE MOULD AND THEN PUT YOUR MAPLE SYRUP INTO A SAUCEPAN. HEAT IT TO BOILING, SKIM OFF ANY OTHER FLOATIES/MOULD AND THEN ALLOW IT TO COOL AGAIN.
PLACE IT INTO A STERILIZED JAR AND INTO YOUR FRIDGE.

so beautiful...I started to watch this vlog with mixed emotions because I used to live very close to there for a year when I was 13 years old and I was bullied very badly in the little town near there as a neurologically atypical kid with a weird Canadian accent .I found it a living nightmare going to junior high school there .. But that being said my favourite memories were going for drives and hikes in the Nevada desert were the highlight of my life there... unbelievable beauty

Beautiful place and amazing night skies. I can so relate to loving the stories that footprints in the snow tell, from a tiny mouse to bears and cougars. One of the wonderful things about winter 🐾. Such Energy in that space!!!! We have similar Energy here in the Outback Australia. I was blessed as a child to have months driving through before resorts and actual roads were put in.
Also I drove around Australia by myself in 1993 (before my adventures to Canada and other places in the 90's/ 2000 when I was 22.
Now at 52, even though I am settled i own a Van to take off on adventures. (I may have mentioned that it is in the shop as I hit a Kangaroo and did a bit of damage)

Snakes in the blind (shedding) are always aggressive.
Mama snakes agressively protect their young as I learned the hard way. She hit me twice before I had a clue of what was hitting me.
Beautiful country and cinematography. Love how you let us know what you have been through after you’ve had time to process and heal a little. So sorry you went through that…twice. People ask me if I get lonely being single. I think it beats the alternative. Twice bit twice shy.

I have a couple of questions: Did you develop a daily routine while there?
Did you have any sort of time frame that you would be spending there ? (Other than visa issue.)
I just met one of my favorite RUclipsrs last night I was all smiles and was so excited but I totally understand that I already know that RUclipsr but they don't know me except through the spirit. So I always leave a distance between anyone I come in contact with even though she she entertained the idea of a what-if scenario if one of her RUclipsrs happened to stumble by her house she said they would be welcomed if they were ever in the area. I was taken back a bit and was surprised but flattered and humbled at the same time. Sometimes we think we know someone but it's really just our idea of them whether good or bad
Amazing, Amazing !!! What a gorgeous place! Ioved the first shot in your video with the moon and planets and all the other starry night pics. Keep improving that skill and developing that eye. I like being alone too out camping, not always safe but it is what it is. Listen to your gut and stay alert and safe. Frank looks relaxed and happy too :)

I'm so happy to know that you called Nevada your home. I to live in Nevada in a little town called Mina. I absolutely love living here it's a small little mining town and I mean really small. Another great video where you share what’s good for the soul as well as some awesome practical tips for living in a variety of environments. I love watching what you cook, I could practically smell the potatoes, onions, and peppers! Yum! A favorite of mine too.
I’m realizing how much the PCT can be a great prep for off grid living. Finding the water sources and filtering is so helpful, for example, and having the courage to be alone outdoors. I got a couple hundred miles of it under my belt in 2019 and confidence was the biggest gift I walked away with. I’m going to make a second attempt in 2024 and hope to live a life similar to yours after that. Do you feel like the hike mentally prepared you for van life in some ways?
This is spectacular, I absolutely love it. It is like you get transferred to somewhere completely different, and it is just excellent and so relaxing to witness. I would almost say a perfect way to spend after a long and stressful day at work, you get entirely sucked into the beauty and present moment. Thank you for creating this and sharing it with us :)

I am sorry you had a bad experience with making a friend. It is too bad because there are a lot of good compassionate and helpful people out there. I would hope if I ever met you on the road that we could be friends. I personally like my alone time with my dogs camping as well but it is nice to learn from others or just have some intelligent conversations sometimes.

Beautiful place! I went to Spencer Hot Springs outside of Austin Nevada. It has some big water troughs like the water source you found and the snow covered mountains off in the distance were beautiful. All the best to you and Frank!
