Featuring artists Xu Bing, Cao Fei, Lee Mingwei, Tsang Kin-Wah, susan pui san lok, RareKind China, Gordon Cheung and Yu-Chen Wang.
In 2016, CFCCA celebrates its 30 year anniversary in Manchester with a high profile exhibition programme spanning 6 months featuring some of the very best Chinese contemporary artists of today.
Cao Fei is a key figure in Chinese art with whom we first worked in 2013. Cao Fei’s work includes video and digital media that explores the culture and daily life of Chinese citizens born after the Cultural Revolution.
First exhibited in the 56th Venice Biennale in 2015, Cao Fei's atmospheric La Towntakes us on a tour of an alternate reality modelled on our own, constructed from miniature models handmade by the artist herself.
This film was produce by students from University of Salford as part of a larger working relationship between CFCCA and the university.
