What a fun collection you’ve made. I have a tip for you on cutting out rayon… Get a small rotary (I like the 10mm) and as you are cutting place an acrylic ruler (like a quilting ruler) along the edge of the pattern. It will keep your fabric from shifting and will give you much better precision. You can also do a heavy starching to the fabric before you start cutting which will help too. Thanks for sharing this video. I really enjoyed it. 😊

Love all of your makes, as usual!! I also have been sewing and knitting for many years, and enjoy switching it up, especially when summer gets a little warm for having wool on your lap!

Thank you Stephanie, this was such a great episode.
These tops and dresses look so adorable on you. Your fabric choices are very fun and summery.
I really liked the rayon. I found some good tips for working with rayon on line.
    Take care

What a beautiful collection of items for your summer wardrobe. The strawberry pockets are perfect. My husband and son are blacksmiths and they volunteer at the colonial stagecoach stop museum in our town and have a smithy at the Ren Fair in Pittsburgh for 6 weeks in the fall every year. They keep me busy sewing period outfits and it is so much fun.

Love all your FOs and this sewing content. One day you will get me to launch my garment sewing hobby. I have everything but the muslin and bias tape or that super cool tool to get started without risking my fabric. One day! You make it look so playful and approachable. ❤

I absolutely love your channel, I learn so much from it, and you are such an inspiration!! I mostly wear dresses so the pink & the gingham are too cute but I can appreciate the others too (I loved the top where you used purple bias binding instead of the fabric itself). I cannot see what you will come up with next!!!

When I first saw the title for this episode, I thought you were going to talk about the Orchards dress pattern by Vivian Shao Chen, which I love. But this pattern also looks so (sew) lovely also!! Thanks for highlighting sewing, I also am a creative and sew and knit all my own clothes. Great episode!

Thank you! Oh yes I remember someone else mentioned that pattern too - but it’s the Orchards Dress with an “s”! Also I don’t believe it’s size inclusive….but I think Vivian is working on it per the pattern page - “If you fall outside of my current size range, please get in touch with me! I am working on expanding my size range and would love to hear from you.” (www.vivianshaochen.com/patterns/orchards-dress)

Thanks for sharing about all your versions. That strawberry fabric is especially cute. I love the bias tape makers--I think I got a set of different sizes off Amazon as I use them for making the binding for my quilts, too. Often, if I have to make one "tape", I will take lots of leftover fabric and keep going making several, and then store the bias tapes wrapped around cardboard and put away for future use. It's a great way to use of "scraps" as you just sew the angled ends together to make the strips before making the tape.

Thank you Jessica!! LOVE that. I’ve been piecing together ones of the same fabric but how fun to have a spool of scrappy bias tape!!!

Your tops and dresses are beautiful and so summery!
I downloaded this pattern a couple of weeks ago, but I haven’t had the time to do any sewing yet. School is out in a couple of weeks and I’m really looking forward to sitting down at my machine. Thank you for the inspiration!

Love all of those lovely summer tops. They look so cool and comfortable. I'm sorry I never learned how to sew. My mother and grandmother both sewed beautifully. I gave it a try, but didn't have the patience for it at the time. What kind of sewing machine do you have?
