my 71 pickup 404 diesel is from S. Africa, was that the first year?

Are they all floor shift? or is the 4 speed column shift?
They were all Colum shift some 504 to . There were 404 sedans with a floor shift . Both my pickups are converted to the BA 10 5sp and the other one BA 7 5sp The one is powered with XD2 motor the other one with XD 3 motor.
