Why do they put direction, IE East on a sign when your in space?

Everyone is flying around in essentially flat space with no orbital movement etc. Why not use a simple coordinate system? :D

sadly as the nature of space is… in ets or the likes you have to deal with roads/traffic and proper parking is also a bit of .. something to do
with this game.. i just fear it all gets old very quickly as there is simply not much to do in space to begin with
everything is kind of a straight line.. docking iss kinda easy and well.. curious to see how this game will try to make the gameplay fun for a while
