I'm excited for it... There were no Pakistan and Bangladesh in 1800s though. All the land combined was called India... there are some mistakes in the map though, but i can let it slide... I'm from Lahore, Pakistan... which is near the area of 5 rivers, in northwestern india which is also known as Punjab. Both india and pakistan has a Punjab province as it was divided between the two in 1947. the wrong thing i noticed over there is that amritsar is shown across the river from Lahore, while Amritsar and Lahore were sister cities once upon a time and don't have a river between them. And another thing, there was no Mumbai then. It was Bombay. Some interesting facts; Lyallpur (which is near Lahore), is now called Faisalabad. Also, current capital of Pakistan (Islamabad) didn't exist at the time as the whole city was planned and made in 1960s. Also, the capital of Indian Punjab Chandigarh couldn't be found on the map here as it too was created around 1960 to replace Lahore as the capital of Indian Punjab. Well, just wanted to share some info... I can't wait to progress as your game progresses... I want to see what happens to Lahore...! There's a saying in Punjabi, "Jinhe Lahore nahi wekheya, o jameya hi nai". it means that a person who hasn't seen Lahore isn't been born yet.... So I kinda request you to make Lahore a kind of hub in Northwestern India if logistics allow ... Even before Independence, it was one of the largest cities of the Indian Subcontinent ... you are not foolish, well, not always. but you certainly are Language gifted ... For the naming of the lines, I always put first the transport mode, train xxxx or bus xxxx or truck-food-anatapur-hubli or ship xxx, that helps find better my lines when I look in an area. it gets usefull when you have a lot of lines for one production chain. I would shorten the route to belgaum, that would increase the rate and take them out of teh traffic heavy road between the settlements. as the cities are actually pretty one to the other, you could actually put a train stop for 2 or 3 and connect all with train. that would keep the train out of the city until it grows and also allow for trams. for example bengalore and the 2 cities to its west.
For passenger lines, it might sometimes make sense to build a decent sized station in the middle of the countryside with a small train on a branch line or buses/trams running to the nearby towns.
@@moneycash-wg7wp well, the Lahore and Karachi train line was a significant one. It was used for both cargo and passenger.
