    Thank you sooo much for your videos . Very informative. Feel very frustrated find out that Ha’ena State Park required advance reservation for Kalalau trail . Back 7-8 yrs ago we always stayed in Princeville to avoid the crowds,got up early to hike in Kalalau trail with no reservation, no fighting for spots, no stress , and that is the spirit of being in Hawaii “ Hang Loose” , but now …. must be “ Hang Tight “What a change

      Hi David thanks for watching. I just posted our hotel review of The Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach hotel, it’s a great location if you want to travel to the south & north shore of the island. I always try to include the room types, dining, amenities etc. in the review so someone could get a good idea of what to expect from the hotel

    I think the Hoopii falls trail isn’t for beginner hikers. We just tried to do it today and it was a bit steep and muddy.

    Great guides & information! Thank you!
    But couldn’t you just take an Uber to the north shore instead of paying all those parking fees or shuttle bus? Especially if u were planning on staying several nights to camp. I did the Kalalau Trail a few yrs back all the way in & am planning on camping it again. We had parked down the road from the trail & were not charged. Apparently that parking lot is not free anymore.

    • @scottsdaletravelchick
      @scottsdaletravelchick  Год назад

      Hi Shelly.
      Yes, if you are already staying in the North Shore area, then probably best to take an Uber or taxi into the park.
      You’d still have to pay for entry and also back country camping fee.

      We actually spend quite a bit of time researching and talking with locals and guides in the area, so we can be as accurate as possible. Maybe their pronunciation wasen't the best. Sorry about that.

    I just came across this video. After being to Kauai 14 times and being a short time resident, PLEASE, if you are going to make these videos, learn how to annunciate the Hawaiian language!!! Hanalei, my final destination every time, is NOT Haaa (not like CAT) nalei (not a short A), it is a soft A, like ahhhhh, Hah nah lei. Just like on Maui, Hah nah, Hana, not Hanna, like the name. Mahalo nui loa. 🏝️
