I love this channel! One days he's driving a Ferrari, Bentley, Mercedes, and the next day he's driving a Honda, Toyota, Mazda. It must be awesome driving every popular car in the market. Such a wonderful life!
That "shitty" CVT will let you cruise at 2200rpm going 80 on the highway. The result? 38mpg. I don't know of very many cars that'll cruise at that low of an RPM at that speed.
I love cars. I mean, I really love cars. But I can't afford to right now. I didn't get the Corolla for speed. I got it because it's cheap and drives nice. You "enthusiasts" can talk all you'd like, but if you hate Toyotas, don't get one.
A Toyota won't break down
jaymum23 I love my Corolla, don't get me wrong. But I wish I had looked at the Fusion when I was shopping. It's beautiful haha.
Not intending to talk down to the sporty kids. It's just that Toyota drivers catch a lot of heat for their vehicle choices too.
jaymum23 Yeah, for sure. I had a 2011 Civic and took it through hell and back. The only problem I had was the seatbelt not wanting to latch, but that was because I spilled soda in the mechanism.
I'm not sure if CVTs are as much of a problem on lower powered cars as when they're mated with a V6. I know Nissan extended the warranty on their transmissions because they had so many complaints. I had a Nissan that I kept for literally a month because it was in the shop so much.
jaymum23 Maybe the CVT fad will end soon and we can start moving towards 8 or 9 speed automatics. I've never personally driven a car with one but I hear they're nice to have.
I drive a Suzuki with a CVT, and i love the drivetrain. The CVT gets the best from the engine in real life situations. It overtakes with ease and its very smooth and comfortable to drive. Take notice that cars with CVT are more economical than its manual equivalent. why get a hectic shifting 8 or even 9 speed automatic while a CVT has the same (or even bigger) range? In my 1.6 litre atmospheric Suzuki the engine only searches for high revs (> 3500 tpm) when you really push it, and then its only for a very brief period before settling down at astonishing low revs for such a small engine.
Big improvement over the last model. I like the way that CVT acts.
the headphone thing is really cool! it's like going in a corolla from my bed lol
m2
Just wanted to say thank you for putting on your seatbelt before turning on the car. So many car reviewers don't do that and all I hear is incessant beeping when they turn on the car.
Some cars still beep when putting on the seatbelt, unfortunately
who asked
Nice to hear the chime for evolution of chime videos
like Nissan or ford
I sat in the back seat of a Corolla at LOWE TOYOTA in Warner Robins, GA, and I was quite surprised at how much leg space it had.
i have a 2015 silver one and im driving today for the first since we got it looks pretty basic doesnt look to bad of a car ro learn how to drive in we'll see today.... and i love how your going i can barely feel it inside the car when my hubby goes up to 80mph.....
Can u do the Infiniti Q50s with the deluxe package it's drives it's self with the lane assist mode
@Daniel Fuentes, First, its a compact economy car. Speed is the least of its worries and Secondly, its not that heavy so the power-to-weight ratio is pretty decent.
will you guys be driving audi a6 with a cvt? im really interested how it behaves.
The seatbelt chime remains the same as my Echo, but those turn-signal clicks are straight from Nissan.
How does the CVT compare to the DOHC engine especially on toyota 14?
nice, what camera are u using and looks clear! go pro?
nice i want to see the 2017 corolla SE test
Do you guys Hear a Wine when you're at 4000 RPMs and above ?? I have a 2014 toyota corolla, im thinking its the transmission. what you say ?
My name is O jay Scott from North Miami Beach Florida, does the 2014 Toyota Corolla S goes fast?
I just love this blue color from 2014 Toyota Corolla.
Lived in Southeast Asia for a few months and Corollas are considered expensive there. They go for $50k. Mercedes C Class goes for $120k. S Class goes for $300k easily.
Were you living in Singapore? In every place else besides Iran, Nepal, and Singapore, they still go for under 30K USD
I watched this video in April of 2016, this is the period of time when New Honda Civic (Equipped with CVT) was launched a few months ago. Also, I had watched similar POV Test Drive which was done by Winding Road Magazine on the New Honda Civic. Assuming that the both POV Test Drive videos were recorded by the same cameras, mics and equipment, I found that the cabin noise of this Toyota Altis which is believed to be 3 years old right now is much quieter than the New Honda Civic.
+Adam Tham The Honda Civic is not about shit.
😡🤬expLICIT
do a video of the 2017 corolla xse
tell me its a economic car? and the S (badge)its for what ? sport or slow? im confused
Perfect video Thanks
Hello my name is Onaijay Scott from North Miami Beach, Florida that 2014 Toyota Corolla S plus is a nice car.
Great video
this is a perfect video
الكوكو الحب الاول 😢 corolla 😍
ابوجميل والي فوقه 😡
الله يرزقني كورولا امريكية بمواصفات gcc فل سبورت 2.0 مع valvematic و 158حصان 😍
is this the s, s plus or s premium?
That's the one that's the car for me!!!!! ^_^
How driving this great cars ??!!
Interior is pretty loud, but it's an economy car what do you expect?
Economy? I from Russia here again this car successful people own only. The price begins from 659 000 to 1 million roubles ~ 20 000 - 30 000
Sergey72GrandTurismo It's SGD$130,000-140,000 (USD$103,000) over here lol.
***** Corollas are the noisiest actually. Old Corollas were great little cars but the cost cutting done by Toyota really shows in their newer cars. Sure they're reliable but the older ones were reliable and well put together. The reason why they still sell is because of the reputation old Toyotas have. At this point as sad as it is to say Kia makes a better compact car than Toyota.
the newer Fords are okay but the Ford Company just sucks all together you can't get s*** on trade in and if you want to get your car fixed they rape you
***** Ford and Chevy made the best cars in this segment...in 1964.
What game is this the graphics looks ok for a driving game
It's not a driving game 😂😂 he's got a go pro on his head
what meme are you
+AwesomePerson 777 omg 😂
+KariMeili ?? Did I do something? 😂😂
+AwesomePerson 777 lol the main comment was just so funny
make a video on toyota harrier
Those are always nice.
Very very nice !!
Wow that’s a nice Toyota Corolla s
I wish you would have driven the car in the non manual mode so I could listen to how the engine sounds normally.
in terms of reliability and insure costs...which is better 2014 toyota corolla or a 2014 Mazda 3
Sam Wilson Toyota
a fair bit louder than the 14 civic
I like this car a lot!
same
the left hand drive version looks so much better
That new transmission is weird when you are use to having a transmission with gears.
is this car peppy/quick? I don't expect it to be fast obviously. It's good enough for daily driving.
+Native722 If you're looking for a peppy or quick car, go for the turbocharged Honda Civic. That is MUCH faster than the Corolla.
hey can u do the2009 Nissan plz
Dude you went without me
Those tires are quiet, what kind of tires did the test car have?
Low resistance I think.
so if i put a trd exhaust on this car, would it sound even better??
yes
Binaural audio will make even the quietest car sound like a rattle can.
you reviewed bmw m5 with a manual but you reviewed corolla with a cvt wtf ?
Needs more hp and cylinders
That's right, drive the shit out of it, lol.
😂 toyota ftw
oooh nice cars
I think the people who're complaining about the road noise are unaware of the fact that this car has a CVT transmission.
The interior room
Does not isolate the air
The car is to noisy
Is this just the S or the S plus or the S premium? I've been trying to find out if the normal S model has push to start (I know the plus and premium models do but I'm not sure about the regular S model).
the s is normal its the le eco that carries 140hp
regular S model doesnt have push button ignition you can tell the difference between a "S" and a "S Plus" by the wheel covers rather than alloy wheels
انا احب هذه السياره موت
i feel like i wouldn't be able to see over the wheel because my torso is small💀💀
Жаль в Турции не выпускают Короллу с автоматом. В России вариатор не в почете.
whats the button he keeps pressing?? does it come with all the 2014 modals??
its the paddle shifters i think
They are the paddle shifters that only come on the S and S Plus models equipped with the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission)
paddle shifters
In Indonesia, there's no 2014 Corolla, but there's 2014 Corolla Altis.. Don't know what is the difference
Mostly the difference is styling and probably engine
It seems like this car is a little underpowered, it should be enough for around town, but if you had to pass going up a hill, it looks like it might struggle... which if you live in a hilly area, like I do, could be an issue.
Yes, make all your decisions based on RUclips videos...
MCSPT117 Wait, isn't that how everyone makes decisions? :P
I have this model with a couple little extra features. (Such as the option to switch it to "manual", paddle shifts, "Sports mode", etc.) But I've driven through the mountains and with "Sports mode" activated, this car drives like a dream. It's speciffically programmed for hilly/mountaineous terrain and I flew by most cars that struggle to climb steeper hills.
Cjaiceman super late, but it has enough passing power, even on hills. It's a light car, and the CVT puts it right in the power band, so it doesn't struggle all that much.
David Bourne How does it handle on the highway? I'm thinking about getting this car but I keep hearing pretty dangerous things when it comes to highway driving. And I usually drive the highway at a consistent 80mph the whole way.
wow
But video uploded in 2013 and car model is 2014 ..............why
This car is known in China as Toyota Levin and in Southeast Asia including Taiwan as Toyota Altis.
Hey man great video but can u PLZ make a video of how u film up self and if u have what is the name of the vid .
wow I wish I had this car........ I kid, I kid.
the interior is so busy
на скорости ускорения даются тяжко наверное вариатор
I think the 2013 model was a much better looking ride from an exterior point of view. Interior looks a little better, but I still like the older model better. Just me. I would (however) like it if the S model came with a sportier engine like the Civic Si or something. Sure more money, but more fun to drive!
but you have to remember that Toyota builds the corollas for budget families who need reliability, good fuel economy, and a specious vehicle. Putting a performance engine in a corolla sounds a little off...now maybe a traditional 6 speed automatic would have been a little better for the S model than a CVT.
I'm sure they will
I think the Scion tC was meant to fill that niche
kssnyder2 That may be a compact vehicle but its a different class. It has its own niche
Well I would say Toyota hoped the tC would compete with cars like the civic si, which is why they didn't create a corolla version of one. It may have attracted a different type of buyer than they wanted for it, I don't know...
Turn signal is straight from nissan
CVT? :(
yeah i mean it's a corolla, not nissan
InsAllah menede qismet🙏🙏🙏
Aamiin.
This car is 1.6 or 1.8 ?
+SuperEmircan the Toyota corolla is 1.8L
1.8 in usa only 1.8
They should have put a six speed in the S model instead of a shitty CVT.
this CVT working good better than CVT Competition
nissan CVT Really sucks.
This is a stepped CVT
3:00 5 hours later
Heavy
A cvt slush box I'd opt for manual
Feel that power - This is the car equivalent of a washing machine.
That “shifty” CVT will let you cruise at 2200rpm going 80 on the highway. The result? 38mpg. I don’t know of very many cars that’ll cruise at that low of an RPM at that speed. I love cars. This car has 132 horsepower that's not even a lot
😂😂😂 my 09 corolla has 132 and it’s slow af

not very good graphics . mediocre details. draw distance sucks

come on man , bring more exotic cars POV videos , and enough of these cheap cars
*****
I think this is the point of why people like pov videos , cuz we can experience what it feels like driving expensive cars
Doesn't hurt to see in advance a car we want to buy, an affordable one.
You clearly aren't a car fan... i simply appreciate all cars from a Prius to a Bugatti
***** very well said.
***** at least some one understands me!
Seems like a pretty fast sport sedan. I would prefer the manual 6-speed transmission, but then I am not an amerikan. Most Yanks don't know how to drive manual transmissions, because shift requires one hand on the wheel and one on the shifter. Yanks always have a Big Mac in their right hands, so they can't shift a manual, and require an automatic transmission. Nice car though.
I can shift just fine with a big mac in my hand. It's call mad skillz bro
Okay then, I stand corrected.
I've driven this car once, and god is it horrible, driving wise, absolutely no feeling at all, no steering feel, no directional feel, it's like riding on a cloud, if you close your eyes, you wouldn't even know where the car is going. The only good thing might be the brakes, they're good, modular and have a good bite. But I guess that's probably because I'm used to the older generation vehicle where the cars are much more raw. Oh another good thing is that it is very comfy for a compact car, a baby Camry like they said. Haven't driven the CVT yet, mine was an automatic fortunately, not manual but still better than a CVT gearbox in my opinion. Can't imagine how worse the CVT would make the driving.
If it sucks then why your watching this video??
Just to see if there are anybody else thinking the same.
I'm used to a 2002 f -150 going a new corrola and it's diffrent the electric steering better brakes cvt etc
I personally like the fact that it drives like a cloud? Its so smooth!
ChezFeroce I want a le when I graduate :)
Also, the CVT transmission is fast. Instead of Automatic Transmission.
nul corola je prefere micro korondo
A waste of my time it's not even a Stick Shift.
salakca bisey olmus
Slowest car you've ever tested?
Ben Steele Actually the slowest he did was either the nissan sentra or Volkswagen egolf
It is one of the slowest and boring car to ever drive. Yet one of the most practical cars ever.
It isn't made to be fast, it has never tried to be that type of car, it's dessigned to be ride in normal situation witha a good comfort, reliability and been practical
real worst driver,,,, man you dont even know how to use padel shifters sucking engine and transmission,,,,,, shift where needed shift down when the rpms are low or car struggles with the throttle ,,,, then it creates a proper torque
Volkswagen jetta is much better
not for the price
treverlid87 But it's A LOT more fun
Yea I doubt a Jetta sounds nicer. It is more fun to drive but who cares.
My friends sister has a 2013 jet ta and she dont like it . Idk why she bought it if she already dont like it
treverlid87 I live in Hong Kong and the price of them is pretty much the same
SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW !!!
+uriel zavala garcia You don't buy a Toyota for speed, you buy it for a commuter car, and I have a chevy so im not biast towards Toyota.
So slow lol omg hahaha does this guy really think he has a quick car?
gerson Lopez You obviously don't know the purpose of his videos, First, the vehicle isn't his. Secondly, not all cars are fast. Thirdly, Its a Corolla, its not going to be fast...
I think the people who're complaining about the road noise are unaware of the fact that this car has a CVT transmission.

good job copying top comment
I love Toyotas,I even have a sienna!!!!!!!
I got the sienna for $6,000,000 and I paid a lot. On the way to work, I go 3300rpm going 90 on freeway 5!!!
