It must be the heavier body on the G8A, but I love how it looks crawling along. Adds some scale realism - imo. I'm a fan of the Axe system - I like the auto-torque adjustment settings. It reminds me of driving a powerful full size rig. Tons of torque - very little throttle - float through and over obstacles.

Heres some specs ($69.99) The EcoPower WP120T Coreless Waterproof "High Torque" Metal Gear Digital Servo , waterproof, high voltage, The WP120T makes 337 oz-in of torque and .11 transit speed at 6.0V. But when you crank the voltage up to 7.4V, the WP120T delivers 400 oz-in and .09 speed, making it an excellent option for scale crawlers, 1/10-1/8 monster trucks etc etc.. They also have an Eco110T, for $39.99 puts out 270 oz in but slower transit speed .16... Good luck
I like your videos but I love the control of brushed or brushless I think that's why you're the red one made it over that spot the other one crashed. Keep them coming
I have two senderos, one rtr and a kit I built around an axe 550 system. My wife wants a crawler for herself and I was considering the trailrunner, but i wanted something that would keep up with ours easily when we're out hiking around. I'm considering the gen 8 axe, but $500 is steep and I'm not sure if I could be spending that money better elsewhere.
@@ExocagedRC That looks awesome, thanks for pointing it out. I decided to get the gen8 anyway, she really likes the way it looks and I'm looking forward to modding a new platform. I'll be keeping an eye on that gatekeeper though, maybe you'll review it!
I was trying to get a better look at the front skid plate on your AXE. I think I spotted a very nice one on another of your videos. Was it custom? I’ve looked around. Seen a few s/s “4 X 4” that are for REDCAT GEN 8, but don’t mention the AXE. I imagine it would work, but I’ve certainly been wrong before. Could you let me know where you got yours?
It looked like the axe motor was so far away from the servo compared to the HH motor... are the 540 and 550 really that different in size offer is something else going on
Great videos 👍 I just bought agen 8 chassy kit and the new axe scout-2 body but it didn’t come with the inner genders on the body , the ones you put the magnets would you know the part #number of ? Thanks for the help!!

I disagree. I find you have much more low speed control with the Axe System. You can also change things like engine braking and wether or not it compensates wheel speed when it hits a load or not with your phone on the trail.
@@ExocagedRC Thanks, I was looking that in the video there was no real difference. But great to hear that, I bought two Gen7 Sports to my kids and "upgraded" the tyres to Hyrax and something. I'm using the Gen7 Super Swamper IROKs in my own TRX-4 and SCX10 II. :D I think they are perfect size and perform well on trails, not so good on rocks.
what exactly did you mean when you said (That Axe maybe thats why it flipped over & the other one didnt ??) what about it being Axe made it flip? or are you saying its Top heavy even beyond the gen 8? maybe I missed it if so sorry , Thanks

My TRX4 Sport is running the HW1080 and HH Trailmaster Sport 27T. Are you getting as much low end torque with the smaller turn pro as you’d get with a 27T? I know the control of the HW1080 is great though. FYI that $220 Axe system is looking less interesting the more videos I watch
Jon Thomas if you’re referring to the Crawlmaster Pro 550 10t yeah it’s got way more power. The 5 slot design is awesome. Also I have 5 axe systems now and use them to compete with as well as general crawling.
I like the og in this comparison the axe is a bit top heavy (although I have the axe thanks to you lol) I think the axe is a better trail rig than a crawler but the og is a better crawler than a trail rig. Just my 2 cents.
Dominates? Lol..Not sure how it dominates it? The electronics are no comparison. The Axe has the better guts. The body is heavy on the Axe. Not the best place for added weight. That's the only reason I believe it flipped over in the end. Both are great scale trucks. I just can't see one saying one dominates the other.
