At first I thought they mistreated him, judging by the condition of his feathers and eyes. Now I understand how old he was. He lived a long, full life, and I'm sorry that he had to pass out of our lives. :(
I'm sorry it brought tears to my eyes that he is no longer with yall I'm sure he had a beautiful life and was well loved now he flies free in that Great Jungle in the sky..
LOL As I hit the video, I said to myself out loud “Awe, pretty bird”......then I hit play and they say the exact same thing 😂😂😂 it must be a birb thing 💕people who have birds, it’s always “pretty bird” and I love it 😍 and those big beautiful eyes of hers 💜💜
I went to PETSMART the other day and got a bird just like him. I had him for 3 days before he died. In those 3 days I felt such a connection. He was my first bird after all. I miss him sooo much and I bet he’s in bird heaven with little Clancy.
Thanks everyone for your support! I did get another bird (not from petsmart) his name is Bernie and he’s lived at my house for a month now so we’re certain he’s going to live! :)
He was a really old bird. My wife had him since she was 8. He passed away last year at around 26 years old. He had a lot of health issues due to old age. Cataracts , arthritis and feather loss.
Awwww. I'm sorry to hear that. :( Have you gotten another one? Pets tend to grow on your and not having one after having a loving bestie just feels hollow.
My bird died last month. She was a green cheek conure named kiwi. She was about a year and a half. She died because I made the mistake of sleeping with her :(. She couldn’t talk yet but she would always give me kisses. The last video I have of her before she died was of her giving kisses. I miss her so much
-sighs- I have a gcc named kiwi too. I have wanted to sleep with him but I won't let myself do it because of that reason. I'm so sorry that happened to you. At least you know it feels and you won't let yourself do it next time
I'm so sorry, I'm thinking about getting one and now I KNOW to never sleep with it. That's so heartbreaking. Dont beat yourself up about it it couldve happened to anyone
I sleep with mine alot and I could definitely see this going very wrong very quickly if you are a deep sleeper. They will burrow and cuddle DEEP and into some really crazy spots. I am a ridiculously light sleeper and always find myself waking up to move him or check on him.
BrantleyCoMama I had a Green cheeked conure and she had really beautiful feathers. There clearly was something terribly wrong with their bird. Clancy's feathers should not have looked like that. Nutrition is so important. looks like he had an all seed diet and was lacking important minerals. So sad.
Soozie Barren i agree, this bird is really not that old, his feathers are dull and chewed indicative of poor nutrition as well as a lack of stimulation. I have a young green-cheek and he is very beautifully feathered. they are great little guys and deserve to have fun with their owners with a balanced diet of pelleted food, fresh and dried fruits nd veggies as well as some nutritious seed. I feel bad for Clancy.
I hope my GCC doesn't end up looking like this. I would feel so sorry for the poor thing. My bird (the breeder said she seems like a girl cause he's been breeding GCC and other parrots for years now and he's just guessing but she seems a lot like a girl). Her name is Tyler and she is a wild coloured. My dad has a gcc pineapple mutation called Happy. We've only had them for 4 months roughly now and they have been amazing. We don't have that much of a bond as there are two of them but they are getting there. I hope mine live as long as this! That would be outstanding!
I was shocked to see how bad of condition his feathers were in and also his eyes. My greencheek is nine years old and in good health. Hopefully it was only because of old age. So sad.
If it's confined to places where they can reach with their beak (as opposed to their entire body, especially the head), it's often because they groom/preen their feathers too aggressively. There are numerous potential causes, but the most common are diet and mental health (stress, boredom, grieving, self-mutilation, etc.). Most birds can get better if it's the result of a poor diet or environment after 6-12 months of addressing the issue, but if it's from mental health, sometimes it can't be fixed. They do make little sweaters for them to prevent excessive grooming, and this can sometimes help to reinforce good habits that persist after the sweater is no longer used. If all of the feathers look like this, such as the head and flight feathers, it may be mites or a feather/skin disease. I would suggest doing some in-depth research to see what the problem may be and the ways you can fix it, because each case is different and it's extremely important to address it in any way you can as soon as you can before your little friend suffers permanent damage.
He passed away last year. He was my wife's bird and he was really old. He was at least 26 years old here.
He lived a long life. I have a 4 month old turquoise green cheek.
Aww sorry about that! Cute bird, can't believe he lived for 26 years!!! I just got 2 green cheek conures, guess I'm gonna have them for a long time!
V S Nicky I'm sorry to hear that. I played this for my conure to hear. He was beautiful. I watched it a few times
V S Nicky awe sorry for you loss
+Crystal Akers the bird was a blessing but he live a full happy life with us.
At first I thought they mistreated him, judging by the condition of his feathers and eyes. Now I understand how old he was. He lived a long, full life, and I'm sorry that he had to pass out of our lives. :(
Ooooh, same!!

V S Nicky poor thing. Did he want a cookie? 😂
I’m sorry but birds don’t cataracts I don’t want to be that person but I think it must have been some other disease
Awe My little Clancy is so cute! I love my birdy! :)

PetSmart is awful. They don't treat their animals well and a lot of them die young. I'm sorry about your bird.
Thanks everyone for your support! I did get another bird (not from petsmart) his name is Bernie and he’s lived at my house for a month now so we’re certain he’s going to live! :)
Was the birdy okay? It looked like he was hanging his head really low. I heard they do that when they are sick?
He was a really old bird. My wife had him since she was 8. He passed away last year at around 26 years old. He had a lot of health issues due to old age. Cataracts , arthritis and feather loss.

+DaWhiteWolffie I would love to get another bird but we had a baby last year too and I'm just not ready yet. I miss my Clancy a lot though. :)
Congrats on the bebe. x) Hope you get more pets someday, especially since you got a kid now. Kids and pets go great together.
Such a cute little bird.
Karley Hanson awe thanks! He's not around anymore, he lived a full happy life! It's still sad that he's not around anymore! :(
I'm sorry to hear that.
+Karley Hanson awe it's ok, he's in a better place now :)

Rest In Peace Clancy. We’ll miss you. 😕😩😢😭
Ugh. This makes me sad, I think my green cheek conure is 2 years old. Sorry for your loss😭

V S Nicky I know right!
Wow your conjure has a lot more grey than my green cheek that I had a while ago :P
I love it. My bird free flies but cant talk yet.
What a wonderful bird.....we love you....maybe he missed Pookie?
So sad your cutie passed away. I just got a little baby, it would make me so sad! Would you have any advice on encouraging my little guy to talk?
RIP legend 🦜
How do you train talk

Former Government Human #4937 just be careful. It’s actually weird you commented that today, because it’s the two year anniversary of my birds death
looks like one eye is bulged and one is flat. His feathers look pretty rough too
Yeah he is a very old bird, he was a bling bird.
+V S Nicky blind bird.

26 years is super old for a conure, if they kept him that long he must have had a very nice life ♥️
OMG IT LOOKS JUST LIKE MY BIRD WITH THE GREY AND EVERYTHING
Awww hes cute
I had a Quaker parrot that I lost a few months ago. She was 19😭 .now i lost my green cheeked conure today. She was only 1😭. R.I.P. my birds 🐦 🐦
I have a green cheek conure. His name is Pancho. XD
Rest in piece Clancy
Whoever Pooky is, Clancy would like to see him. Finally "yes I'll say 'pretty bird'; now I demand to know, Where's Pooky?"
I hope my GCC doesn't end up looking like this. I would feel so sorry for the poor thing. Hi... I just got my Baby... I am going to call her GINGER too!!! That's the best name... does your Ginger eat ginger ? Is it to sweet for them?
Is he missing an eye?
Awww😍
Sweet baby
I have one his name is sunny ,he says come on .
Even at 26, I don’t think your bird should have looked like this. His feathers were in horrible condition! What did you feed him? Poor thing
I was shocked to see how bad of condition his feathers were in and also his eyes. My greencheek is nine years old and in good health. Hopefully it was only because of old age. So sad.
At 26 years old I’d say it was just from age
What did you feed him to keep him alive for so long , I keep hearing mixed opinions
Not sure what they fed him, but I would recommend pellets and vegetables.
My birds feathers are fluffy grey like that right now too! Can u tell me what is is?
