Here's a fun Led Zeppelin story for you...
This made my head explode, as I am a TOTAL Zeppelin freak (I even owned a Gibson Doubleneck when I was a teenager!)
In 1997 I had a swing band gig, and as I was playing someone said "Led Zeppelin is here!"
Huh?
And before I knew it, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant along with their girl friends were dancing 6 feet in front of me as I was playing.
What a trip! I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming.
Lots of Love & hope you dig this new arrangement!
Adam

Hey Gang - hope you enjpoy KASHMIR - the epic Zeppelin Riff! Hit the LIKE & leave a COMMENT below 🙂
Nice one Adam! I like how you played the vocal melody as part of the tune as well. Great work.
Adam, you're an inspiration to anyone who aspires to play at any level 🤟
The groove machine does it again.
AMAZING, absolutely AMAZING!!!
amazing precision and articulation, perfection.
Love it, love it love it, one of my favourites from one of my favourite albums, your version, blew me away
This drew me in, those 3 and a half minutes went by so quickly I'll have to watch it again! Great stuff Adam.
Great performance-
You captured the nuances and the heavy beats! My head was bobbing for sure. 🤙
Easily a new fav, thanks Adam!
You make that look so easy to play which belies the complexity that overwhelms a non-player like me. Bravo!
Bravo 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Man, you are fantastic. Your playing always brings me joy!!
GONE,THE MAESTRO!!
This is bad ass! I never imagined that Kashmir could groove so beautifully.
Unexpectedly fantastic.
Hey, last time you said to me you won't do cover songs anymore because of copyrights...
After Staying Alive…Kashmir..🧐
With Staying Alive you motivate me once again to Play more guitar and I want to say THANKS.
I'm practicing the song while watching your arrangement on youtube. I miss your cover-lesson on SWA…😢
greetings Adam👋
This is great! It’s amazing how you captured the energy of a song that is so sonically dense in just six strings!
Thanks man! Although…the original tempo is about 80bpm, and unfortunately I couldn’t hold that slow tempo steadily. Always something new to learn and work on!
I really enjoyed this incredible performance! Great job!👍🎸🎶
Hell yes! Finally... Such great melody and groove, this song was just desperately waiting to be arranged by you!
Really, really solid arrangement and performance Adam. Best fingerstyle version on RUclips! Loved this! ❤🔥
A real piece of ART!
Congratulations 😉
Great arrangement catches the groove feel of this magnificent song .bravo yeh put up on Study with Adam I 'll learn it.
Astounding!
Great job! I feel like you have really mastered your unique picking style. You are doing so well at capturing the life and energy of songs!
Josh it's ALL about capturing the energy and vibe - moreso than the notes themselves! Thank you.
What can I say that I haven’t already said? Brilliant!
@@adamrafferty Well, you're doing so well with it! I think on this one and Stayin' Alive, you start with such a great rendition of what would be the "instrumental part" that it kind of takes the listener's imagination to the original recording. Then the guitar sings after that!
Jimmy will be envious of you excellent
He was my hero, and I would be honored for him to hear this!
Such a cool arrangement. And as ever Adam an immaculate performance!
Love it Adam. Great cover!
Really wonderful arrangement, Adam! Really captures the feeling....an amazing thing to do on solo guitar! Cheers, BB

Great to come back to your channel after so many years and good to see you're using your old Taylor again (?).
Heya! I still use the Matoin live, but I've been liking the sound on video of the Taylor and only 2 mics :-) Yes, this is drop D. Groove oN! :-)
Very Energetic 💥💥
Magnifique 🤩
Awesome
C'est vraiment magnifique ❤❤❤
Nice one, Adam. I can only just about strum along with a plectrum in DADGAD. Hope you're doing well.
Hey Rob!
Superb rendition.
Adam, you're a tiger! No... You're a lion! No... You're ADAM! Huge work! Huge respect!
Wish I could play that
Great!
Nice one, Adam!!
Epic!

Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad you're enjoying the music. Stay tuned for more tunes and keep the music love alive! 🎵🎸🙏
Excellent Adam! When is the lesson? 🙂
3:13 Fantastic! Agsin! Hope you have the tabs on SWA. I will probably have to use a whole year to play this, but it’s probably it 😊
Naci I will stir up some kind of lesson!
Dude you are fucking amazing!
Wow!!! What a fantastic arrangement and so well played. I absolutely love it. Do you have the score for the arrangement?
Great job as usual! Do you have a tab for this arrangement yet???
Yeah, like all the other commenters said! 👍
You should get this version to Jimmy Page, A.R.!! Great tune before you even came along and a fantastic interpretation no less! This is the second great fingerstyle interpretation of great tunes from a half century ago as another fingerstylist just came out with a great version of "Knights in White Satin" also today and I so love these classic well-written tunes! Jim C.
Thank you Jim!!!!
Thank you for your GREAT PERFORMANCE❗❗😍😍
If possible plz my ZEP cover too😊😊
Wicked
check out Ben Lacy's version...he keeps the riff going behing the verses
Ben is a beast. I tried that, and had to adjust to keep my melody flowing. I'll go check his version! Thank you.
Yay
Great rendition! And what speific type of Taylor are You playing on the vid! Thanks for reply :)
314CE - not the fanciest I’d most deluxe, but I’m finding that recording wise it’s the best thing I have at the moment.
Maton is 100% my beloved LIVE guitar though. I’d live to get a small size 00 model Furch or Collings!
Great rendition there bro 👍
Was the guitar you played in the video, in a standard tuning?
Drop D:
D A D G B E
🤘🏿😀
your my favorite player!! what model taylor is that...sounds great and not overly bright!! and strings?? thanks
Taylor 314 CE - cheaper model. New Strings Martin with 11 on top - usually I play 12, but this axe sings better with 11. Lots of love in the mixing process :-). Thumpy fleshy fingers help "roll off the hi's" 🙂
@@adamrafferty i appreciate u!! hi from nyc...u are teachin me alot
I'd love to see a lesson on the right hand technique for this, i just can't get it at all..........
A great version. Loving the groove on this. One question... how do you deal with copyright on RUclips? I pretty much stopped uploading my own acoustic fingerstyle arrangements a while ago due to the fear of copyright strikes and the complications with uploading cover songs. Just wondering what your thoughts are on this and if you have encountered any problems. Thanks!
Paul, most cover songs are fun. Just don’t upload Hotel California! What happens when you upload a cover song is you get a notice from RUclips saying that third-party contact has been detected, but that’s not a strike. That simply means that as Michelle, and in the case of this song, Led Zeppelin, Atlantic records, or whoever will make some of the money. Pretty cool as far as doing cover songs, but as I said, stay away from the Eagles, they are bastards. Good luck can’t wait to hear your videos!
@@adamrafferty Thanks Adam. Very helpful to hear the copyright situation seems to be workable now. Seems like I need to be less concerned about uploading cover songs. And thanks for the advice about the Eagles. Sounds like that information will save me from a big headache. I look forward to hearing more of your awesome arrangements soon!
@@PaulHillGuitarist Right on!
Hey Adam... On first listen, this sounds like a Drop D tuning. Do I have the right? I'm testing my ears here.
YESSIR! Dropped D!
@@adamrafferty Great arrangement, Adam. I really enjoyed that.
What tuning are you in?
Great piece🎸
Loved it, loved it loved it ! but big Led Zeppelin fan so no surprise there, great work and delivery as usual, i need to learn this one thank you so much !!
What on earth is your tuning?
Drop D:
D A D G B E
@@adamrafferty Thank you!
Gloomy and disturbing, just like today.
ok stop showing off now! really nice tune old cheese
Outstanding!! You make it look easy. Lol
I know it takes a whole lotta practice to play like that!!
Well done
open strings ruuule
Unfortunately, you are not playing it correctly. You are lacking one note. Listen to the original. You play wonderfully but I noticed the difference immediately.
Rick yes I made quite a few compromises:
1.Not keeping the main riff during vocal
2.Very tricky to hold tempo at 80, I am faster
3. Highly shortened from original, as it’s hard to keep interest for 7 min…the average watch time on this is less than 57 sec!
4. Yes, Robert Plant on the G minor part sings the low octave and then the high octave (if that’s what you mean) I cut right to his last vocal riff
It’s all in the interest of also keeping the energy, sound and making a successful performance- much the way an artist with a pencil can’t convery all the colors.
Let me know what else you think I could have done better!
That was tight!
Not an easy song to cover.
