Man, Sledgehammer didn't get the love he deserved when it was on. My family and I used to watch this together and found it hilarious. What's weird is, although this is an American show, the humor is moreso something that us Brits appreciated. American's didn't know what they had while it was on. Same with MadTV. That humor was right up our alley, but the majority of the American public preferred lame ass SNL humor. It's beyond me!! Thank goodness for RUclips 😃
I agree about Mr Hammer not getting enough love at the time, but I disagree about SNL Saturday Night Live was on a late night time slot - don't want the kids to see that! I suggest you watch the first clip(s) of SNL called Land Shark. Not everything was great, but it was definitely worth staying up for if you could afford the lack of sleep.
Whatchu talkin bout Willis? America mourned when this show went off the air. Unfortunately, with shows like this, it's the same problem every time. Most of the gags get used, and can't be recycled. The "talking to his gun" thing isn't really a gag, it's more like part of his ridiculous persona. The gags that can't get reused are the one liners and the "target practice" jokes, as they can only be seen from a few perspectives. Same problem with "Police Squad" and the "Naked Gun" movies. Absolutely side splitting humor, and definitely unique in their own way, but it can only go so far before it gets stale.
They should have a Resident Evil 3 mod where you play as Sledge Hammer instead of Jill Valentine. All the monsters and zombies would turn tail and run when they saw him enter the room!
The phoney phone scene smacks of Maxwell Smart to me. He was a real gumshoe. The childhood memory was in color but the adult memory @17:00 is in black and white - a nice touch. The wild west theme at the showdown is also good theatre. @21:30 he made my day in a dirty, hairy sort of way that is both Good, Bad and Ugly. And @23:20 we speed to the end of the show (OK, the bus was an early give away for this one)
15:46 Jonathan Brandis as Young Sledge. RIP! The music queue and the way the scene is staged is also a little reminiscent of the flashbacks in the TV version of IT, which Brandis also starred in.
"May the force be with you. Forget the cliches" "Hay you're supposed to shoot me, not my gun" "A loser never wins" SLEDGEHAMMER quotes that are ridiculous and keep le laughing and rewinding.

I was young and watched with my dad when it was on. 48 and started watching yesterday.

The loudner lol
I love that they counted the innocent bystanders as legitimate targets when it was Hammer's turn. At least they went for realism.
That's funny 😂
Was a hilarious show...why it only lasted 2 seasons is a crime
Yes someone ought to arrest the producer
"Next up, inspector Sledgehammer""Let's get out of here!" lmao.grew up watching this awesome series.thanks much..

19:09 Sledge Hammer's dad was named Jack. Too funny!
His mothers name is Armande
Love it when Sledge loses it and rips the phone off the wall. I haven't physically laughed out loud in quite awhile. Good stuff here.
Same! That and when he was trashing the captain's office.
LOL.. He wanted to be the first person to kill someone on the moon.
Love the little Hammer.
Thanks just love Hammer :)
Gunning down the Helicopter at 12.35 is soooo funny!
Best television show on when I was a kid! I laugh so hard at these still.
Love the slapstick humor!
Sledge Hammer: The comical Clint Eastwood. The civilian Rambo.
11:20 LOL! I love the 80's!
Koogan "is she a gift for me?" Can't take it. Too funny.
Thank you for upload!
this show was Gold
This is the best 📺 show of all time.
one of my fav 80s shows. Hilarious show. whenever I see David Rasche I think of Hammer. and I had a HUGE crush on Doreau.
Hammer´s body language is hilarious!!
Good God, Dorreau is hot
she's OK
Isn't she though. Her and the chick from Remington Steele, good God!!
She was always such a goddess! Just like Beverly Crusher and Sharona Flemming!
@@danielbrown1724 She used to star in Days of Our Lives back in the 80s as well (Attorney Gwen Davies)
Wow, Jonathan Brandis (SeaQuest DSV) played young Sledge Hammer in this episode. I never noticed that before today.
Omg this show is hilarious! Why have I never heard of it till now?
One of the Best Comedy Cop Shows Ever 😂
I got rid of my TV when this show was cancelled. I haven't owned a TV 'since.
In these shows, it's 25 minutes of show in a 30 minute slot. Now I think that's down to 19 minutes.
Both Sledge and Kogan carry .44 Magnums.
Sledge has a Smith & Wesson Model 629
Kogan has it's counter part the Model 29
I was Born with a Gun in my Hand 😂
Love This show! and a insperation it was for Assy Mcgee :)
Who knew Trump’s book was a Sledgehammer quote! “Losers Never Win”
..it's a loudner.. 🤣🤣
Hate when shows like this dont get the love they deserve
"That's illegal" Sledge
"So is this" Koogan
Hilarious
There should be more seasons!
15:48 Rest in peace, Jonathan Brandis.
If all police in the world were like sledge hammer, there would be no crime
There'd be no people to commit crime!
There would be no crime because there would be no laws.

SLEDGEHAMMER quotes that are ridiculous and keep le laughing and rewinding.

This episode plot is also an homage to a novel I believe. Anyone know?
Outdoors filming at Paramount Ranch - 2813 Cornell Road, Agoura, California, USA.
4:40 Before the mobile era
15:47 Jonathan🥺
These paper targets were popular in movies during this era. Luv how this series $hit on Dems and their agenda 35+ years ago! "HAMMMERRRRRRRR!"
Mano o mano, means duel with bare hands, I doubt this is what he meant.
modern meaning is one-on-one. no reference to weaponry
@@dave101t It's Spanish for hand to hand.
