  • Bose has developed a version of its QuietComfort noise-cancelling headphones for cars that promises to minimise unwanted sound inside the vehicle.
The US audio company's new QuietComfort Road Noise Control (RNC) measures vibrations on the vehicle body caused by driving over uneven surfaces and sends a cancellation signal through the car's speakers, reducing the road noise that passengers can hear.
Bose says the system is "a smarter, more flexible and adaptable electronic solution" than previously available.

I don`t care about the noise from the bumps on the road but the constant wind and tire noise reduction would be awesome. New CR-V has a noise cancelling system but I am not sure how effective it actually is.

To low down those noises you need good insulation and thick glass panels and thick metal panels on the car which most of cars dont have if you are seeking this things buy a luxury car and make sure its german. And small compact suvs or cars are excluded from the list as they just resemble the brand but dint have the options or quality the brand stands for. Buy an f10 5 series or a better car or equal audi merc you wont be dissapointed

@@147NITRO The idea is that we want low noise levels without weight increase from all that you mentioned.

In 1980 in Minsk were done some tests for that idea. They try to improve noise environment in tractor`s cabin. But the level of electronic components was incomparable with the current time.

This solution has been around a lot earlier but the solution was too simple for car technology but on the same principle. You can actually make that device at home and the result will be only as good as your components are. Much easier it gets for some irritating constant sounds.

One of the first commercially available vehicles to use ANC was the 1992 Nissan Bluebird.

lmao yeah bose noise cancellation will produce an equal and opposite noise that will cancel out all the idiotic people in your life too

The excellent bose suspension could never make it to production.
Soundproofing technology by bose maybe a success but it depends on cost effectiveness.

I think that canceling the electric motors and road noise is a good idea for electric cars

@@Alex-oc6hk its for road noise/ any vibrations that the tires resonate at. So I dont think it would do anything to block out the engine noise unless the microphones in the cabin pick it up and cancel it out. It would be great for electric cars too.

Road noise is actually even worse for EVs because they are much heavier
