Wanted to also take a look at the honda civic but they apparently have crap premium speaker offerings. I don't really want to bother with aftermarket (been there done that), its not worth the time and energy or the frustrations that go along with installation
I played this in my new Mazda 3, and the music was truly incredible! The more I learn about this company and experience it the more respect and appreciation I gain for it.
I wish Klipsch did this. I have a new Mazda 3 with the Bose and it's impressive. Won't knock over small children as you drive by but it seems to always have enough to effortlessly provide everything I ask of it. The whole car seems to have this attention to detail. I thought I would really miss a touch screen but the wheel and buttons are effortless and it keeps your eyes up.
That would be epic. I have bose in the car but my atmos setup in the lounge is klipsch, they would be may preferred speaker system if they did car audio.
My 2014 Mazda 3 has 9 inch bose woofers on the doors and it sounds great. These new ones are a few levels up. Fantastic sound. Its no Mark Levinson but its freakin close.
I was actually dead set on the Civic Sport Touring, and honesty there is nothing premium about the Honda premium sound. It was horrible. When I sat in the Mazda, I was blown away by the Bose sound, and by the interior. Its on another scale yet the same price. I will be leasing the Mazda in 2020. Greg Fusco
I am writing this after driving this car for about half a year. The first comment was too agressive so I deleted it. Now I am calm and this has purely informative meaning. The sound system in Mazda 2019 is no match to the previous version of 3. Mazda could have boasted with "immersive sound" tag in the previous model. I drove it for 5 years. And man how I enjoyed it. That sound system outweighted couple of small imperfections of that car. Many times I came home at night tired but boosted by the sound system after 30minutes drive. Nothing is left. The speakers in the doors and in the back plate are exchanged with tweeters and woofers built somewhere into the structure of the car. There are no speakers where you were used to. The tweeters are directed straight to your head and it renders the sound unpleasant after a while and from one direction only. There is no sound comming from the back. I literally looked back after few km, when I drove that car for the first time and I thought "what the hell did these guys do to the sound?". Immersive tag is gone. poof. Overall I do not like it and ended up using it very little. The sound is overbased, overtrebled, I dont hear things that I used to here previously no matter what I do with the settings. Very big disappointment for me Mazda and Bose. One of 2 reasons I decided to go for Mazda is gone for me now. I will be paying very good attention to details when I will be choosing the next car.
Are you sure you drove a Mazda whith the *optional* Bose Sound -System (we've seen in the Video here) ? It sounds more like you drove the standard one. Wich, if you play with the EQ is quite okay but it isn't by Bose.

@@hugolinprsnickus I've listened to the 2018 Bose system and the 2021 Bose system and the new one is significantly better. The bass is deep and punchy, the mids and highs are decent too. Great system for the price point!! Just make sure you turn the stereo mode to standard, (linear sounds to thin) and turn off centrepoint too.

I would not consider Bose domestically, and although I thought Mazda may have chosen a better audio partner, I am prepared to give it a chance inside of a Mazda 3 (the 12 speaker version that is, I'm not falling for any of the 'explanations' so far). Anyone who has heard it and thinks it's good, please give me an idea of what your home set-up is, thanks.
I have tested around 30 different cars these past couple of months. I currently have a mazda 6 2009 with bose, which is due for an upgrade. With the car I have today I feel that it is a bit too mushy and not punchy. The car I have driven with the best sound thus far is actually a 2016 BMW X3 with Harman Kardon. You can crank it up to 60% and it's clear and crisp with punchy bass. The stereo spread is as good as I have tested in a car. MB A class 2019 with Focal upgrade was also not bad imo. VW golf with dynaudio, not a fan. Audi Q3 with B&W not bad, but not as good as BMW X3 with HK. Then it comes to the Mazda 3 2019 with Bose. The punch is quite astonishing. It's quite crisp and clean, but I wasn't entirely convinced of the overall sound. I tried various different sound setup options, but couldn't really find one that was perfect. I felt like it was a bit like my old mazda where the center in front steals much of the attention so that you feel that everything comes outta there,, and I couldn't figure out a way to lower that one specifically. I like the 3 and it's not far from a very, very good overall sound system, but it is the bass punch in the chest that stands out as the most "earcatching". That is quite extraordinary if you ask me.. My home setup is a pair of Q Acoustics 2050i with a Hegel H95 amp. When I want to listen to something that needs good stereo, I do that at home, because I've never really had that experience in a car, naturally (law of physics).
@@thomas3503 Thanks, you raise a point that other people have, in that the system is better without the use of the artificial audio enhancements, (I think there are 3 options?), which doesn't really say much for all of the research and testing by the Mazda and Bose acoustic engineers (explained in the 'Signature Sound pages of the Mazda 3 brochure), I'm afraid.
@@k.thompson8549 yup, when it comes to bass, I do think they have done something right here, because it's quite noticeable how you're punched in the chest by it. But that's about it imo with this particular system. Nothing special compared to others.
Yeah I wasn't impressed, but if you're being realistic; for the price point it is good for an econ compact. so Far my two favorites have been the Audi Bang and Olofson and Lexus Harmon Kardon systems. Both offer good boomy and clean theater like sound

I personally have found the 'Harmon Kardon premium systems' found in some German manufacturers (but note an expensive option not standard), just kill Bose for audiophile level sound and power/configuration options overall. There is something very 'bland' about the Bose sound that is hard to put a finger on..

Let's face it, the biggest offenders on mazda's factory setup are the tweeters and lack of proper insulation. Tried myself with mazda6 and mx-30. Both cars have otherwise decent setup. However, clearly lacking on those departmens which are easy and inexpensive to fix.
Not sure if this is for everyone but the volvo s60 harman kardon sound are so dull and cold midrange sound,overall it is like heavily processed compressed sound
I have HK soundsystem on me e92 3 series ant the sound is great. I drove a Mercedes Benz C Class from 2017 with Burmeister and that system sucks. My parents have a Renault Megane 4 with Bose…that Bose is way inferior to the one in Mazda 3…

While waiting, I was so impressed with the feraures; the most two are Bose sound system and the two tone of dash board with colourd seat.. All are not prevail in Malaysia… I still enjoy much driving the car…

I bought a brand new mazda and was pumped to hear what my music would sound like coming out a sound system like this. Gotta say, im disappointed; it just sounds like the music is coming out of that front driver door speaker
Did you get the bose speakers or the stock ones? If u got the bose one then that's a bummer. My 2011 stock ones sound great compared to most cars I have heard.
You probably are not setting something correctly, or your source of music is low quality. This sound system is honestly better than the premium Harman Sound on my BMW. I hope you can figure it out.
DJ Presentation I’m willing to bet: when someone complains about the quality of a sound system, after making sure it’s calibrated properly, you replace the Bose logo on the speakers by the logo of that person’s “favourite audio brand” without changing anything else, then you make them listen again while keeping this little secret, and they will suddenly love the audio system so much they will wreck their seat while making a huge mess, if you know what I mean;)

It truly is superior to anything in this price point. I drove a Civic Touring and a Jetta GLI and neither were close to the quality of sound in the 3.

My mate had a Kia which has an Harmon Kardon system, guess I need to test it and compare to my bose.
