During my most recent extended visit to New York, I met a man from Kerala who informed me that, should everything go as per God's design, Jakir Nayik would return to India and take on the role of Chief Minister of Kerala. He replied that Rahul Gandhi's I. N. D. I Alliance would win the next elections and that the new government would drop all charges against the well-known preacher when I reminded him that he would be arrested the moment he entered India because there was no bailable warrant against him. He responded that over half of them are his devotees when I reminded him that even in that case, he wouldn't be able to become chief minister because the majority of people are Hindus. He was firm and confident for this reason, the BJP will never secure a sizable portion of the legislature.
