There's a short segment in bucketheads DVD Secret recipe at a house party. there's a lot of names around. Bootsy, snoop dog. a lot of black people if i remember correctly. the camera just scans the room. everyones drinking, smoking weed. having fun. and buckethead is awkwardly sitting on the couch unwaiveringly still next to a hot black girl who looks bored AF. lol.
That's true. Most people overlook that
I have respect or Axl accepting Brian as Buckethead instead of try to change him like Ozzy tried to do when he wanted Brian, not Buckethead to play for him. I have seen video of Axl doing his job, swaggering dance, belting out his power notes... being the front man he needs to be. While a 6'6 mask wearing, guitar shredding giant is running across the stage behind him, back and forth, as he got a hankering for football in the midst of their closer. Confetti falling from the sky and all. He didn't allow his ego or at times ocd nature of controlling the stage to stop Buckethead from being the guy we love. He met Brian at Disneyland to sign, come on. Well done Axl. ♡

I think too it's amazing of Axyl to bring bucket to play for gunners, letting buckethead be himself. Outside of his antics the guy is an outstanding guitarist. An absolute freak...he takes guitar to the ultimate...beyond the best...truly out of this world
I just saw Buckethead, Brain, and Bower at the Freemont Theater. It was like RUclips, but RIGHT FUCKING THERE! It's an unforgettable experience to witness such ability. Do it. Go.

Then was working as a Stagehand past few months got to work for and see my favorite band ever play PRIMUS Left stage in DC was few feet away watching them kick ass boy they could move a crowd!!! Holy venue shaking from Claypool's bass and Tim's drums then Larry's badass psychedelic riffs was life changing. Lets just say im very honered and LUCKY to have both experiences (;

It's kind of a bummer that Buckethead's persona limits his ability to just hang with friends like that. Like, if he could just let the thing go when he's not performing, people would still love the Buckethead persona onstage. He could be like a super hero.
When kiss took off their makeup it was a stunt to try to get a new generation of fans. But it must have been a freeing thing for them personally. The magic was gone.Ace was a truly great guitarist btw.

This is great.. I love litening to people make real accounts of one of the most under known amazing guitar players of all time... Buckethead Is Amazing. I love thta he keeps his ( known ) identity enough of a secret to be able to have a normal life... It sounds like for him putting the mask and bucket on is Like Becoming his Super Self.. like green lanterns ring or batmans suit... Brain has convinced me that Buckethead is the world's biggest, best, and possibly earliest troll. It's like he told the biggest names in music to just suck it and play his little games or else they can't have him. Wanna jam with the Bucket- Talk to the puppet. Build me a coop. Make statements about firing me that only deepen the mystique surrounding my "transient lifestyle".
And it seems that all these people still love and respect him anyway. Pure genius.
I don't think Brian fully grasps the bravery, strength, and sheer power that he has. What an interesting guy, love him!

Yes!! Intelligent Skater vibe is exactly how I visioned it. So incredible to get a peak behind the bucket like that. Hope he does more but it definitely seemed like a big deal for him to do this one so I can't see it happening for some time. But fingers crossed...and by then he would have probably released about 50 album, which is awesome!

All I really know is buckethead is to guitar, what les claypool is to bass. Theyre both eccentric and way out there.
Buckethead in a weird way makes me think of Doug Stanhope. (Stanhope is a comedian, that doesn't wear a mask literally or figuratively) He reminds me of him because they started at a similar time and have influenced so much but probably will never be mainstream, or even known of by the general public. They both have a lore about them that everyone in their respective fields knows....but fans of either genre rarely do.
It's sad and fucking awesome at the same time. I work in a school.........the band teacher laughed when I mentioned Buckethead.........he had never heard of him. (that is when I lost all respect for him having any knowledge about guitars)
p.s. Working in a school and talking to teachers is an interesting study in how little some teachers actually know about the subject they teach. Growing up I had no idea that teachers taught subjects that they had no actual interest in. They read the same book that I did but got to judge me based solely on their degree and not on their actual knowledge of the topic. It's sad really.

Iv gotta say, I prefer Ron Thal to Buckethead....although..I respect the guy as an amazing musician...I find his gigs a bit too repetitive, ...once you’ve seen the robot routine.the nunchuck routine...the novelty soon wears off...Ron Thal has an amazing vocal range as well as being a phenomenal musician...just my opinion guys...\m/
