These types of titles always piss me off. Why can’t we make videos that respectfully cover their legacy without painting them as a tragic figure in the title
I was fortunate to see Mother Maybelle and her daughters with Johnny Cash at Mississippi State University in 1968. They played in the Animal Husbandry Service Building, a.k.a, "The Cow Barn," and put on a memorable performance despite the less than optimal setting. Carl Perkins was also on the card.
What a terrible title. Totally unnecessary. You did a decent job in the video, I don’t know why you felt you had to title it like that. Sounds like she lived a pretty good life. And then she died - like everyone. I don’t think there’s much tragedy there. Please change your title. This is a decent biography otherwise
Yes, Mother Maybelle is indeed a true icon, and the Carter family can justifiably claim to be the originators of their unique country music style. They proved that it didn't take electronic wizardry to make good recordings.
I'm always drawn to her eyes. Damn she was a beautiful woman. And that shot of her at 4.22. a silver fox for sure. .. Im Only 59 now.... but beauty nows no time line...
Very interesting video, but a ludicrously misleading title. Hidden life - what hidden life? Tragic ending - well sad certainly, and no doubt tragic to her nearest and dearest but hardly unique and off epic proportions.
mother maybelle was an good hillbilly singer and musician. she just happened to be the first to be recorded. she could hardly write her name let alone songs. the songs that we all enjoy were dug up from many sources by A.P. Carter. who, though barely educated, was one hell of a music scholar and a very unusual man in terms of backwoods character. The Carter legend was largely created by this man whose diligence brought us back to our scotch /irish/english folk roots so well that america will never completely tire of his work.
What a talented and lovely lady she was!
Even as a kid I saw Mother Maybelle et al., on a Christmas special and I never forgot her magnificent EYES! Genuine AMERICAN Country music Royalty.
Yes !! Her eyes are just gorgeous
Yes, since a kid her I recall her magical eyes. @@outlawofga
Beauti
There was only one Carter Family, and there will never be another, quite like that one!

I'll go along with that. It is kinda poorly described
THIS. It’s disrespectful to the person and the entire audience. I left a comment saying the same. He can easily change the title.
I’m late to the party but I couldn’t agree more with you. He put the same title on his video about Roy Clark 🙄
I agree with you entirely.
It's complete clickbait. I always give a thumb down and it does hurt their channel.
Thnx for Maybelle C,s live overview. Maybelle also influenced me and my later musical perferences
Thankyou for the tour. Rest in peace 🕊️🕊️, you will never be forgotten 😢
Rest In Peace Maybelle.

Maybelle was wonderful musician!
Not a Hidden Life but indeed filled with much talent.
Thank you! hope you also so Sara Carter
Yes please
good god here eyes were so beautiful...

True.I was also intrigued.
Interesting thanks
Im envious
Didn't know she was born in Nickelsville VA.I live there now
She did not have a hidden life, and the only tragic thing is that she died, bad title.
Her passing was sad but I'd hardly call it tragic.
Sarah passed away just three months later.
This sounds like an AI generated story.
Hola me gustaría oír la historia;pero en español
She reminds me of Tammie Brown (with an i e ). And she plays Auto-harp like Trixie Mattel, how interesting!
Sounds like my gps
Where was the tragedy? People pass all the time.
Focus on how great she was.
Tragic ending?
😂❤
What did she die of

how come tragic?
The entire video could have been done in 30 seconds. He repeats himself again and again.
She did not invent the Carter Scratch, she learned it from Nelson Riddle.
Maybelle was born in 1909. Nelson Riddle was born in 1921.
