Did you have to pay the guy in the green suit or did he pay you to be in that position?
Leadfarmer153 i would have payed too
"Her", it's not a guy.
Good question XD
😂😂😂
@@Stormwern Guy, girl, same difference
Green suit guy must be glad he entered his line of work.
Its a female
ha ha ha
Great stuff. I especially liked what you said about "combining the best of both worlds". Many movies rely far too much on CGI, and the scenes end up lacking in atmosphere.
PropaneWP The lord of the rings movies are the perfect example of this.while it had cgi most of the monsters like the orks and uruk hai were practical FX
NIELS MICHIELS And the hobbit is a great example of too much cgi :/ It isn't as breathtaking as the old trilogy, because of its lack of realism.
BoomCarrot i know ,right?
I still don't get why it was more expensive to make the hobbit trilogy than the lotr trilogy.
The lotr trilogy was filmed in the new zealand countryside and it was heavy on the practical FX side.
How the hell does it cost less to make that than 3 movies who were pretty much filmed with nothing more than a green screen i will never know.
NIELS MICHIELS And the story... Don't even get me started on the story...
PropaneWP and I especially like your profile picture.
I wish Barbariana would ride me like that..
same here
DrLeatherface pick-up master proof
DrLeatherface fuck yea i would of layed on my back barbariana is soo damn hot
0:39 and 0:42 - we need a gif for science
hahaha
It's been 8 years since Kung Fury, I think about this so fondly still.
Just beautiful. Thanks for inspiring me to become a green screen guy.
The more videos like this I see, the more Im shocked by the resourcefulness and ingenuity of Sandberg and the rest of the staff. Just fucking incredible.
loving this insight
KhailAnonymous khaiiiiiiiilllllllllllll
KhailAnonymous Hello Khail
Imagine what Kung Fury would be like if it was actually made in the 80's.
Allie-RX We should hack time and make it happen!
Would have been made by Cannon films and started Chuck Norris or Charles Bronson lol
It would be more expensive to make, and there would be only CGI in the time travel scene, some stop motion, prop guns firing blank, analog sound effects, and authentic 80s synth.
The movie was amazing, and watching how the effects were done was also very entertaining. Hoping for a full length video of the behind the scenes.
David Hollywood needs you.
Kung Fury is now a modern legend! How one guy can make a better film than most of all the Hollywood output in the past 5 years. Thank you for showing everyone how it should be done. Creativity and ideas FIRST.
Holy crap - I thought your digital work was impressive but those practical effects are an inspiration. Beautiful, smart, and mind-blowingly effective. More on the practical effects, please! More than 2 minutes, ha!
Love it. Wanna see much, much more. A full, feature length "how it was done" would be great.
I'm curious to see how he did triceracop.
ZombieMurdock667 the awnser to everything is: green screen xD
sodapopinsky87 dont ruin my dreams of a triceratops/cop hybrid damnit.
haha!... check out the other videos of lazer unicorns.... the whole triceracops fx is in there
This is why Triceracop won't be on SDCC. ;)
ZombieMurdock667
Motion capture of the head with a 3D tricertapos head with animations to match the speech, breathing, and expressions.
You guys did an amazing job on the visual effects for this movie.
I really wish you guys come back to create more of this magic!
Awesome stuff. Looking forward to more behind the scenes videos
love this 80's feel cyber punk!
Great video! I always love seeing behind the scenes stuff.
You've done a legendary job on this.
I can't get enough of it
Some really awesome practical effects! Excellent production workflow!
Excellent stuff.
Can't wait for the full length version of the film.
you are a GIFT to Hollywood David. Looking forward to the sequel! and to still work with you in the future! :)
Awesome of you to share how it was done!
Waiting for the 2 hours movie.
If you ever need a guy to go under Barbariana you can call me :D
The production was so awesome, that 4 people liked it, turned the screen upside down, and liked it again
Great visuals, David. Can't wait to see more.
This is incredible. I had no idea so much work went into this
You really created a masterpiece. I look forward to more content here and your future work.
Some really well done visuals here.

Excellent video! Keep them coming! Congratulations on the completed project. Kung Fury looks fantastic!
David I just love your work! Thank you for sharing these techniques with us.
You are Genius David !!! Love it !!! ,)
I'm most impressed the stunt guy actually did the splits like that, even if assisted by wires.
This is so cool to see the magic behind it all
You inspire me to make my own film David! You're amazing!
You guys did very very well on the production
What a good job. Practical effects are the best!
Tack för att du väckt hopp hos mig för coolt VFX i Sverige!
love all the behind the scenes stuff! can't say I blame barbarianna for cracking up during that scene, haha. fantasic work from the whole team and I can't wait to see more of behind the scenes stuff as well as any future projects (director's cut, a sequel) that may come in the future!!
Tank you David.
I learned more from this video than from my whole semesters learning CGI in college
So refreshing (well, refreshingly old school!) to see special effects used to their full effect - to actually enhance a scene instead of the lazy reliance nowadays of everything being CGI.
Great video. This kind of stuff is really helpful for someone like myself trying to become an up and comer. Congrats on the success of Kung Fury guys!
I love all that hard work you make, to do de wonderful kung fury *-*
Amazing work David, you are truly an inspiration!

Can't wait for another VFX breakdown :)
Thank you Mr. SANDBERG! You have made the world a better place.
Very kind to share the VFX breakdown with us !!! some more ? ;-)
What I find fascinating is that they use these effects combining the best of both worlds and it still looks more sophisticated than most Hollywood action movies. Opinion only
These are so awesome to watch! I wish there was a full movie scene by scene breakdown D:
I would totally watch that
Amazing work!!
I halfway hoped David would do the narration in the Kung Fury voice lol. Really cool stuff!
Proud to be one of the subscribers of this chanel. And i wish u are the director of all fighting movies like Tekken, Street fighter ..
Better than the crap that we saw .
You guys did an excellent job!!!
Really good Job, OSOM!
Thanks so much for sharing your insights. I agree that the use of both practical and cgi yield the best results. Its just knowing how to use them.
Great job guys greetings from Argentina.

David, you have some incredible skills there man! I hope you Kung Fury helps open a few doors in Hollywood. You're going to go far!
Great job !! And nice tricks
David this is great stuff, hope you do more soon! What computer configuration and 3d program do you use?
Great stuff. What I want to know is: how did they make the asphalt spray up like that in the miniature shot?
Combining oldschool and new techniques, love that attitude!:)
Any chance for a feature version?
Great job! A lot of pleasure,
thanks!
Hey David, what an awesome production! I wanna ask you; are all the voices in the movie overdubbed, especially your one?
Signing up for green screen guy - school tomorrow! So psyched!
Yessss practical + CG used to enhance practical effects is the way to go!
I like it I hope to see more man you made a great film
This was awesome!
David Sandberg you are awesome!!
Your shadows were captured at green screen stage or did you add them at post? I am learning virtual production in Unity engine, and one can have real time everything. Some things are nice. Your green screen studio is amazing! such a talent you guys got.
Wow I love the green man jajaja the best job xD
Good video.
You guys are the future!
THIS IS AMAZING! :D
Thank you dude!
This movie was epic. I would have paid to see it in a theater. Any plans for a feature length film? Possible the sequel?
Th3uNn3rV3d Yes, Kung Fury movie by KatzSmith Productions with Sandberg again as director went into pre-production. They're having a hard time with story/plot, because they need to cater both to people who have seen the Internet short and to people who will be hearing about Kung Fury for the first time.
awesome skills m8
Great work, and I want to be the green guy next time
Most triumphant brotha brotha!
Could you please do a more in depth version of this with what programs you used and time lapse After Effects or 3D modelling and stuff?
Oh nice, more content woo!

Where in Norway was the background filmed?
I LOVE DAVID SANDBERG!
