Hello and welcome to another edition of SUMO PRIME TIME. Once again, I’d like to extend my heartfelt appreciation for tuning into the channel that offers in-depth coverage of Japan’s national sport. As we witnessed, the May Sumo Tournament turned into another wild and exciting competition, with the new Komusubi Onosato capturing his first Emperor’s Cup. The road to victory wasn’t as easy as it sounds for Onosato. Find out how he was able to overcome adversities and achieve the biggest triumph of his life. And, for those who can’t wait until the next grand tournament, make sure to join us during the entire month of June, as we’ll bring you more updates and features on wrestlers to get you fully ready for the July battle in Nagoya. Arigato and see you again soon!

I had to rewatch that match in slow motion about five times before I could begin to comprehend how Hoshoryu pulled that one off. Absolutely amazing technique on his end. The way he rotated his hips to get into throwing position was unlike anything I have ever seen!

I tried to keep up on the May tournament, but NHK and the JSA keep going after the NattoSumo channel on RUclips and Rumble. Their daily summations of matches the top 3 divisions was a great tool for Ozumo fans outside of Japan.
Instead of shutting down NattoSumo NHK and the JSA should hire him/her.

New rikishi with a greater hunger will lead to a changing of the guard at the top ranks.

@@smittywerbenjagermanjensen320 thanks for your emulation mate :)
As an "elder" in sumo (i guess since 15+years) this year is quite unique.
The emergence of many good prospects and the end of an alpha dog can be very exciting.
Who will be the true heir? we'll see. but clearly there is a gap to approach excellence that we saw in this millennia.
