This is precisely why a researched diverse perspective is desperately needed. When you have hour long "symposiums", on the glorious style of the exclusionary glory days . not a remote mention of any woman of any color what so ever , oh then that is probably why the 1960' was the choice decade.......those were the protest years, black women were in the fight of their lives for a dignified life w/ opportunities........

As an educator in fashion I try to curtail the instinctive throw up response of students always saying "Audrey Hepburn, or Twiggy for any thing as it relates to retro classic, t's just lazy...at best.

SO..............no mention of Diana Ross and the Supremes ...who as a girl group rivaled the Betel's ....it's disrespectful to flagrantly mention Beyonce and not Diana Ross AT ALL!!!!! See how you are ? We know exactly who you really are.
