WOW. Kenji Midori has some of the best kicks I've ever laid eyes on. The power and form is PERFECT!!! Before I even saw him compete; as he kicks the pad in the intro to the video my jaw was already agape. Such beautiful form and technique. The power he produces is the product of it. His kata at the end of the video is amazingly flawless as well. This guy is AWESOME. I have alot of respect for these Kyokushin Karate guys. They're the real deal. Great upload. THANK YOU. :)
Kyokushin is unrealistic. Think about it, they train to punch to the body and kick to the face. In reality in a real confrontation we should punch to the face and kick to the body. I am not saying these guys are not tough. But their style is foolishness

No, you hear that all the time. Including by other types of sport arts. And yeah, they are sports. Combat sports. What art do you train that you are so offended by the word sport? I do Kudo, it was designed from the beginning to be a martial art/combat sport, so most of it's practitioners don't have problems with sport training. Olympic judo gets the "that's a sport" thing called on them all the time. By freestyle judoka for one. All sorts of combat sports athletes think boxing is one of the most sporty arts. And mma gets called a sport a lot as well. Which makes sense, as these are all sports.
@@gesshugh9976 You may already know but Kudo came out of Kyokushin. Takashi Azuma (Kudo/Daido Juku founder) was a top level Kyokushin fighter and left Kyokushin to do his own thing. I do not think so my friend, To me the Okinawan karate or the Shotokan(JKA) way of fighting whether in sports kumite or street fighting is relatively the most difficult fight in the world as to karate fighting excluding other martial arts. It is because in their way of fighting, even in tournament, they can hit the face and body with punch or kicks; and anybody who tried sparring even using gloves that it is painful or destabilizing to the consciousness when you are hit hard or even lightly to the face how much more when your face is hit by a bare knuckle punch. The Shotokan(JKA) do not use gloves, body and head protectors or even shin guard during their kumite fights; and this make it realistic because in a street fight for self defense(the purpose of karate) there is no time to use protectors and so you will be hit by bare knuckle hand and worst by a shoe laden foot. This makes also Shotokan sparring boring because they keep always their distances waiting for the time to attack; for sure the players are consciously nervous that they may be hit by a bare knuckle punch especially on the face and that is reality. Try to hit hard each other on the face with a bare knuckle when you spar and we will see if you will not quickly disengaged upon being hit on the face- in particular in the nose, lips, eyes or even in the cheek.

sir, when the undefeated thai warriors issued a challenge to all martial artists. Mas Oyama sent his best kyokushin fighters to challenge them. And the kyokushin fighters won.
@reppait I know. It's a technique I favour in competition as well, great for a surprise knockdown but I've spent a lot of time learning to hide it with combinations first and I still see it as risky. It's like our suicidal wheel kick, when you come unstuck you go in a big way and using it more than once, like say to push an opponent back, makes it worse because your opponent learns. When it comes to forcing distance repeatedly I'd definitely avoid the spinning back kick.

I am involved with mma on a novice level as a trainer, and I think a smart thing to do is to combined the Thai and the Karate snap kicks to be a more powerful kicker,
You are the first person to get it right about BJJ!!!!!
Hey guys, this is Vishal Coodye from Mauritius. I am Shodan rank 1 blackbelt. I have recently come across a new form of kenji midori (full japanese style). I've looked for it everywhere but no trace. If you know it please PM me. OSU!
That was a rule set in the 50's because Oyama didn't want anyone to use protections, and approximately 90 percent of the students had to drop out of his dojo due to injuries and broken teeth.
Would love to have this skill for self-defense. Brilliant stuff.
Look at him just pure technique this is what oyama meant by 'small overcomes large' Shihan Midori OSU!!
@mikeymarshful What do you mean, internal? If you mean the inner mind, you realise Kyokushin has quite a strong spirit..Kyokushin is the ultimate truth - Spirit, body and mind. Kyokushin is a full-contact art that focuses heavily on Sparring, it is known as the strongest karate.
Very nice kicks and punches
Sir
Thank you for up loading this video. I think at 1:09 Mr. Midori is kumite with my Sensei Mr. Shichinohe, Yasuhiro (the head of the Okinawan Kyokushin Branch back in the early 1990s). Osu
that round house kick with variety of knee snaps is awesome I used it alott myself it looks like u missed but then wham knock out
Lyoto was a shotokan practitioner, GSP george st pierre was a kyokushin pracitioner.
sir, when the undefeated thai warriors issued a challenge to all martial artists. Mas Oyama sent his best kyokushin fighters to challenge them. And the kyokushin fighters won.
it's not about size. it's about heart.
