Telluride is a wonderful little town! We've been there numerous times in summer and winter. The distance away from the cities keep the charm from spoiling away too!
@@lucasboyer811 Answering an old question, but if you start in Ridgway, CO, you go West on Highway 62. When 62 T's into Highway 145 go east into Telluride.
This video is beyond magical. Thank you so much for sharing it with us! My boyfriend and I will be going out to CO this summer for the week of his birthday, then we plan to move there next year!! Thank you for giving me a preview of whats to come!
i guess im randomly asking but does anyone know a tool to log back into an instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my login password. I love any help you can give me!
There is some gorgeous scenery to experience in the southeast portion of the front range. And in some places...free camping. There are old villiages and homesteads, cattle ranches. The twin peaks are a sight to behold and there are little roads off to the side that let you see the peaks up close and personal. LeVeta is a nice old town and the Cuchara area is beautiful as well. The geological formations will knock your sox off. Theres some decent trout fishing to be had all over the place.
Wish I had had this experience driving through. The one time I went it was around -8 degrees the whole time and I couldn't see more than ~10 feet ahead of me because of the blizzard.
CO Hwy 62 and CO Hwy 145 link Ridgway with Telluride. It will probably stay open all winter except for terrible storms, because it's a primary route into Telluride, which sees a lot of skier tourism in the winter!
We started in the town of Ridgway and ended in the town of Telluride. This route makes a semi-circle around the mountain range that contains one of the more well know 14,000 ft peaks in southern CO, Mt. Sneffels. There are dozens of nice hiking and sightseeing trails in that area also!
This video was recorded around the end of the summer, probably the first week of September. In March you'll see much different scenery but in a good way. Most likely lots of snow-capped mountain peaks in the distance, with plenty of sunny days as well!
Very pretty area and I love the San Juans. They are probably the most majestic of all the ranges in Colorado. I wouldn't claim this is the most scenic route in Colorado though. Independence Pass, Squaw Pass, even the Million Dollar Highway would rate above this area in my opinion. Nice video though.
You should travel, "The Scenic Hyway" 12 from Trinidad to LaVeta sometime. Outstanding views and October 1st brings some of the most colorful trees and lets us see God's canvas as I have never experienced before. My brother and I coined the saying, "This would be an Atheist's worst nightmare! " LOL!
First time in Colorado last year around November and went through Highway of Legends. Loved that view of the lake and definitely felt the high altitude. Going back there next week. Colorado's back roads in general feel so peaceful, perfect to just cruise along.
Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder... I mean the beholder. Colorado has lots of scenic roads though, each one of us may have a favorite. The pass roads are also very nice, like Black Bear, Independence, McClure, Kebler, etc. Even the road to Mt. Evans is quite nice in its own way. The San Juan mountains are hard to beat though
This route begins in Ridgway, CO. It takes CO Highway 62 west, then CO Highway 145 south into the town of Telluride, CO. There is an additional option shown towards the end of the video that includes continuing on CO 145 south beyond the town of Telluride, this route passes through more of the mountain range. The video ends looking at Wilson Peak along CO 145.
@@ThisScenicLife Thank you for your immediate response. I like Scenic Videos. I will continue watching and like all your videos. Keep going. Have a great day.
Yes there are a handful of pullouts and it's also very remote so I'm sure you can make the decision to stop in many other locations too. The thumbnail image to this video was taken at the most popular pullout just outside of Ridgway!
It's actually only one hour from Ridgway to Telluride. The harder part is getting out to that corner of the state in general. You'll have to drive in from a long way away or fly into Durango or Montrose most likely. Well worth it though!
I've gone at both times and will say sunrise and sunset are fairly similar, so I recommend the time that's easier for you. Both will cast some very soft sunlight on the mountain peaks and make it very scenic!
I can't remember unfortunately. These songs come from a RUclips creator music service called Epidemic Sound. Many of the tracks on that platform come from Swedish artists so it's hard to memorize the names!
It is my daily commute. I live right where the video starts. It takes my breath away every day.

So what is the exact route?
You're so lucky. My son lives outside of Denver in Lonetree. I liked Colorado Springs but this place looks amazing!!

So beautiful 🥰🤗
Lived in Ridgway for 6 years....that is the best drive in Colorado for sure
Very soothing music too!! Love this thank you...
Telluride to Ouray is one of my favs!!!!

And thanks to the person who filmed this landscape.

Yes.
what a beautiful place.
what's the music at 9:21 ? it sounds so good!
where does the video start out at? the road before the mountains hit is picturesque!
It starts near Miami, Florida
Beautiful videos and relaxing music. Please share me the musical themes. Thanks and I look forward to new videos.
Thank you for the kind words... we get our music from epidemic sound! More to come!
I'm driving from HTX to Telluride in 9/26, I can't wait!!! ❤❤❤
Prepare to be amazed!
Kinda reminds me of the parkway in Virginia without the homes!
This must be Telluride! I really miss it and little Ouray.
Yes this is Telluride at the beginning and end of the video, such a wonderful place!
Driving from the Ouray side on black bear pass into Telluride where you were at the old mine. That's THE best drive. One way only from Ouray side
That route is pretty intense though, must be mentally prepared for the steeps!
I love Colorado
I do as well
I hate the words "nice" and "awesome" but this video is fantastic! and the music is perfect. Well done!!
Would be so nice if we knew where we were...maybe annotation along the way. Great video.
Thanks for the comment! We tried that in our Blue Ridge Parkway video and plan to do more annotation in future driving videos as well!
This is near Telluride in SW Colorado. 🚴💨
Switzerland is so much more beautiful, but at least it's something
Switzerland is Europe, this is the American southwest, different, they aren't comparable, such a flimsy statement 🙄

Wow, that sounds like an adventure for sure - but sad you missed the view!
Beautiful places.
Such a beautiful ride thank you. Music choice soothing as well. Can you share route(s) you drove? Can’t imagine this in winter guessing roads closed.

What is the camera you are using?
We used a DJI Osmo+ in this video which kept the camera more stable while driving over bumps and whatnot. It is a very nice camera for scenic drives!

That's not a mountain road, that's a road cutting through the valley

Nice video. However it would be nice to see the names of the towns and highway numbers. Others do it so it can't be that hard.
Good idea - we'll keep that in mind for future videos!
Wish video had been longer...
Next time we go out there we are planning to record the entire drive which is about 1.5 hours!
