    It's interesting to see so many buffs/debffs able to be cast on friendly or enemy units. Makes me wonder if we'll see some varied unit compositions (perhaps what the developers were hoping to push)?

    • @fabian4980

      Upgraded Medtech can work well with both bio and mech type of units, so for sure some units are extremly versatile

    • @2639theboss
      @2639theboss Год назад +1

      Yeah I actually really like the direction they went with these buffs and debuffs. It feels like something that would be much better for balancing across the board, as lower-tier players won't use them to their fullest and top players will.
      So instead of just changing the unit values directly, you could alter the buffs and debuffs and still create meaningful balance changes in a more targeted way.

    I just want to know if it's just me, but I don't really feel any appeal to any of the unit designs? Like the Zealot in Starcraft is fucking "cool" - psi wrist blades, super tanky warriors, like it's a "cool" concept. The units in stormgate feel like Fortnite skins almost. They all feel so inoffensive and boring. I hope the third race is more exciting.
    Edit: ghosts, zerglings, goliaths, hydras, stalkers and dragoons, carriers, vikings and BC's, there are no shortage of awesome units in Starcraft.

      The only similarity is they are both melee units. The differences are: splash, no defend, buff when attacked. So basically everything else. The comparison are just starting points, all the units are wildly different. Adding a single ability or stat change (move speed, attack range, attack aoe) makes the units incredibly different.

    • @Bagginsess
      @Bagginsess Год назад +3

      @@mauriciorossi8477 I never said they were the same but they resemble footman way more than zealots. Yes they don't have defend but defend was to counter range units and the Lancer can chase down range units because of the speed boost so it still fits the bill even if it possibly is based off zealot's charge. And yea the exo's ability is like stimpack but the unit controls like a rifleman. And then most off all they resemble the footman rifleman combo because unlike marines and zealots they are on the same race meaning you can get the old combo of melee in front range in the back with the medtec replacing priests and sorceress. In the coop mode there is an exo variant literally called rifleman and you have a paladin as the hero exactly like the wc3 paladin rifleman build. Though I guess they are similar to the zealot stalker/immortal combo.
      Also the dragoon like spider crab reminds me a of a siege engine mixed with a mortar team. And then the rest of the units remind me of terran.

    Will there be variants or factions within factions each with skins, models, voices or abilities?
    - Like a Certain Vanguard with steampunk technology and their dog is a mutant Kane Carso or cyborg rottweiler that is a "bruiser" not a shepherd scout. A hybrid of melee tank and anti-infantry. They got steam powered artillery firing 40-inch white phosphorus shells against buildings and clockwork ballista for rapid anti-air firing. The old-school mechs and soldiers are dressed and decorated in Napolean style clothing. They are demi-humans known as "dwarves". But they have a French, not Irish accent. Preferring wine over beer. When destroying mechanical units or enemy buildings, they can "salvage" to increase production speed of their own mechanical units or speed up the construction of buildings at a discount price.
    - Maybe a in certain Inferno branch there is someone like Archimonde or Jaraxxus summoning them infernos? Like a boss or powerful non-playable hero. They got "Butchers" over "Brutes". Even some balrogs and pit lords as their heavier units that do nasty cleave damage for aoe or mighty shockwaves touching not just land, but enemy flying units. As they are quality over quantity... Absurdly powerful, but expensive units that take up a population cap.

They are talking both focus on the competitive side and the casual side, both on innovation and just mashing together what sc and wc3 have to offer, it is supposed to be both new player friendly and challenging. So far only the 3vE mode seems like they're trying something new. Innovation and QoL features are a meme

    Why are they replicating SC2? Yea there are some differences but the core seems pretty much the same to me. Isn't gonna feel incredibly similar to playing SC2? Or what is the great added value they are bringing to the table that would make this so much better than SC2. I would like to know since I honestly don't see what that would be, from the progress released so far at least. They would need to bring an incredible amount of added value to make this succeed, but they seem (to me at least) to just be recreating an already existing game in SC2 with some differences.

    Question about the game: Will it be any special abilities in the game planned to use without having a unit associated with it and rather a building instead? Think it like a global range utility "skillshot" to gather information, set up light traps(silence, anti-heal), and as the game progresses have more of these stuff for calling low tier reinforcements or bombard an area for light damage/slow?
    It would be nice to see such mechanics and for fairness it should have relatively high costs/cd.

      @johnkalyvas4838 Год назад

      The command center can send out a scouting drone to a chosen location. When the tier 3 version of it is released, it might get an additional global ability. The Infernal Host faction also gets some abilities that they can use from one of their buildings. Energy for those abilities does not regenerate automatically, they gain it by killing enemy units, or losing their own units. Infernal units can't earn exp like Vanguard units, so they are designed to be more expendable.

    Hmm 🤔 I think I will have to try it, based on your two race vids, and some promotional materials the game just doesn't generate any hype for me.
    The graphic issues discussed in the comments on the infernal video.
    Combined with the fact that I can't see or feel why I should play this instead of sc, aoe or frozen throne, makes me unsure of my purchase.

    I want to see a joke version of this post-launch where you talk about how bullshit and unfair the units are in an escalation of both anger and pitch.

    I do hope this is all the units "so far". I know we are still very early on but the units right now feel underwhelming to me. (clarify: like 2-3 units short. Missing the big dogs like Thor or Battlecruiser. Time to kill also seems too slow to me. Graphics still need polish.)

    They're not reinventing the wheel or anything, but it seems to be very solid gameplay, so far. Ain't broke, don't fix it.
    I do think the "command center" buildings need more personality and presence. The overall art style is fine - League of Legends-esk, although I prefer the look Zerospace is going for.

      It's gonna be a tough choice between the two. Every time I see a video for one I think "oh sweet, I'm leaning towards this one now".
      One thing I've noticed is I haven't gotten excited for any particular unit in ZS whereas in SG I'm already lovin the Lancer and Vulcan. Can't explain why, just do.

      The infernal host buildings look much better than the Vanguard. I think the "command center" and the barracks definitely need some work but many things on the vanguard are place holder models like the hedgehog and command center "orbital scout" thing.

      @@invader_jim2837 the lancers, exos, and vulcans are my favorite. It's like a warcraft 3 human footman and rifleman composition but with "titanfall" goliaths.

    I mean, FG need to do something about how the game looks. Not even necessarily the graphic style, but the lightning or camera or something. It looks like SC1 more than SC2 and SC2 is 14 years old.

    The mid tier mech seems similar to the unit sc2 tried to introduce when they wanted to remove the Thor. The mecha looking mini Thor.

    Vulcan kind of resembles an Assault Dreadnought from WH40k Dawn of War series, especially the DoW 2 version, which doesn't have Jump Jets, but it's Assault Cannon has ability to mow down an area in a cone, dealing massive damage and supressing enemy infantry.

    bit disappointed they have so little faith in a favourable video they felt the need to give artosis of all people a script to read instead of letting him do his own thing.
    while i dont have better unit ideas, as im not a game developer, its also disappointing that most units shown here already exist for decades in bw/sc2, making this game feel more like a mod or custom maps for those games.

    Man the art style feels so uninspired. It's like looking at random work from theHive or on the steam market. Its probably hard to tie in such wildly different concepts, such as warcraft 3 undead and starcraft 2 terran, but they should have had a clearer picture before going in. This looks so bad, it may be too hard for me to get into.
