Haha, thanks mate, much appreciated! I have read of people just putting the Erevo2 diffs in a Maxx, but I just don't get how it works... or why the heck Traxxas didn't make it work 🤷♂️. Maxx diffs are strong enough really so no big deal. Cheers!
FANTASTIC VIDEO. I'm working on some really cool projects for the Summit and this has been a GREAT resource as I determine which path to go down. Keep it up man.
Thanks for the comments and subs guys! Appreciate it. I’ll grab one of the hop up center diffs when they’re available in Oz and see what’s going on in there too. Will update when I know any more, in the meantime if anyone knows further details please keep us updated. Cheers!
Thanks mate, much appreciated! Sorry for missing this, I didn't see a notification at the time, and I've only just stumbled on the comments page of my channel. Boomer :D Cheers!
Yeah, me too, especially after the Lego system the 1/10's are. Fingers crossed Traxxas releases an E-Maxx 2.0 before long, using the E-Revo 2 / Sledge drivetrain. Cheers mate and thanks 👍.
It’s too bad the gear mesh is slightly off when using e revo 2.0 diffs in the maxx, would be really cool if you could just drop it in and use gears made for 6s in the maxx.
Definitely! And very UN-Traxxas-like. The V1 E-revo played well with the Stampede / Slash 4x4's. But here they either F'd up or worse, intentionally made these incompatible. There's also slight rubbing between the E-Revo2 outdrive cups and the Maxx bulkheads (not that that matters with the mesh wrong anyway). Cheers!
Correction the maxx's gear is a slightly wider gear which is why the e revo 2.0 ring doesn't work with the Maxx's but! The E Revo 2.0 diffs should in theory be better than the maxx cause of the pins for the cups the maxx cups are good but pin is too small which I had snap alot, could you make another video about this? But with the e revo 2.0 pinion and ring? It could sort out the pin issue with the CVD's with the maxx
Not totally sure what you’re meaning here mate? I did try the E-revo2 ring and pinion together (pinions are the same part for front diff), I’m pretty sure I tried every combo possible for this vid? Cheers.
I wanted to ask, would the Maxx ring fit the E Revo 2 case? I would like to try to bore out the Maxx ring out drive to fit the larger more substantial 8mm outputs, I have a hard time with the 7's with snapping the pin from the yolk's. (Even with a plastic shaft) hope to hear your response. Cheers
Good question! Just checked and the Maxx ring gear does appear to fit the erevo2 case. The problem with boring the Maxx gear out to 8mm I can immediately see is there would be no recess left for an outdrive seal. You could look up Vitavon Racing Development on Facebook and see if they have a solution? As far as I know they only have ring and pinion gears though.
@@Boostabeats No problemo I have experience getting stuff machined, I definitely did pay attention for the seals I would have included that but wasn't too sure. In your opinion what would be a good solution? Get some gears made to fit the Maxx? Or just get some out drives without holes for the cups and just put flat spots so I wouldn't have to deal with the pin?
@@thegatekeepercastlecreatio3683 I'm not sure hey. I have heard of people just using the erevo2 diffs in there. I'd be tempted to just give that a go and see what happened. I've been running the stock maxx diffs and found them pretty darn strong.
@@Boostabeats I definitely do agree, they handle the power of the MXL 6s I got in here. But hey, let's see if there will be more innovations. I'd like to see more videos on your thoughts with the cars you own.
@@thegatekeepercastlecreatio3683 thanks mate, appreciate that. I've just started running an Arrma Outcast 4S V2 and I'm loving it! Its light as, suspension is plush as anything, and the LP backflip tyres are perfect too (apart from tearing apart a bit). It has its issues (like the rocks getting into the slipper case and the TERRIBLE servo saver), but I'm loving how it handles. I've shot a heap of vids (a lot on this outcast too), my problem is I just never edit, will try get crackin on it. Cheers!
How the...could i missed this one. Best explenation i ever seen, regardless brands and diffs. Thank you 🥰

thank you for making this video, it helped me a lot to find the correct gears to buy 👍

Thanks for the video, you saved me time and money.
No worries mate, things may have changed in the last two years, but as far as I know this is still accurate. Cheers!

Thanks mate, much appreciated! Apologies for the belated reply, just found the notification then. Cheers! 👍

Wow. Good info. I thought the diffs would be the same as traxxas likes to reuse parts in other platforms.

Do you know if anyone make spiral cut gears for e Revo 2.0? Thx

So is it established wether I can use E Revo 2.0 VXL aluminum diff cups in f,c,r of a Maxx?
Answered in the vid. Separate vid on the 8980 Maxx center diff.
What about vitavon Maxx helical cut gears in e Revo 2.0?
