Thankyou Anna, I am an american living in Europe for over 25 yrs and I spread the Whit Stillman gospel among my eurofriends at every opportunity. Love the scene and remember we Whitfans are the light of the world.
Thanks for uploading this scene--Tushka Bergen's dance at 1:45 is absolutely mesmerizing...and for that alone she will always be one of my favourite actresses. Don't we all wish for girl who could groove to 70s disco music.
Anna Zakrevskaya sure, you have good material to work with, but I've been looking for the red ant scene for a while. and here you've made a good choice about the recurring leather suspenders joke. Montserrat thinking he might not be wearing them that night? Priceless. :-)
Execution fell short, putting Ted with Greta. But, as the one hospital scene showed, Ted and Greta had more in common, while he and Montserrat could never really make it work. He could not see through his infatuation for her that she could not match his enthusiasm for the things that were important to him (his work, his attempts at moral conviction, etc). Worse was showing Fred suddenly in love with Montserrat, needing at least one more scene of them together for a plausible link. Stillman's vision for his movies is often bigger than what makes it onscreen, it's true, but it comes up so suddenly with so little follow-through. They may have a renegade streak in common, despite differing politics, but, to quote Fred to Ted, "you never confide in me, so I have to extrapolate."

Punta del diamante explanation needed to be included to give the scene context.
Love Whit Stilman.
He is the best!
good scene selections Anna.
I guess all Whit Stillman's scenes would be a good choice)

"You've Got What It Takes" is by Silver Connection -- not Donna Summer, damnit ...
The name of the group is Silver CONVENTION.
Wish they ended together. Hate he was pairing with the other girl.
