There is a mic input bro, you can use your shotgun mic and connect it via the 3.5mm aux port. What i said wasnt there was the headphones port on the a6500. Thanks for watching!!!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

So if I have the chance to buy a Sony Alpha 6500 for $600 do you think it’s worth it?

      A6400

You can go with both. The naming of the models are a bit confusing as they overlap generation and tier. If I'm not mistaken, it's 3 tier 1st gen (6000, 6300, 6500), 3 tier 2nd gen (6100, 6400, 6600), and only top tier 3rd gen (6700). So a6400 is lower tier but newer generation. It doesn't have IBIS (in body image stabilisation) as the a6500 but, if I remember correctly, better video quality. If you use mainly shoot during the day or with a tripod, or have (more expensive) lenses with IS, the lack of IBIS doesn't really play a role. If you shoot a lot hand-held and also in the evening/suboptimal light conditions, IBIS comes in handy. One significant difference is that the a6500 has an in-built flash (not strong but comes in handy when shooting indoors where you can flash the ceiling for indirect lighting) while the a6400 AFAIK does not.
But as said initially, for your purpose, you can take either, when you're on a small budget, you can even go for the a6000, which still does a very good job for your purpose. The newer generations mainly improved in autofocus which is not so much your concern when you shoot mainly not moving subjects like buildings or landscape.

They have the same sensor and same image quality. The differences are mostly pretty minor. One of the biggest differences is that the a6400 screen can flip all the way up.
In this price range, the Zv e10 reigns supreme though. Same sensor and quality but with a full flip out screen. Has several advantages over the a6400 with only a couple disadvantages, such as no viewfinder or weather sealing.
Most of these Sony crop cameras have only minor differences. They’re all like 95% the same.
The a6700, fx30, and zve10 II are the only Sony crop cameras with significant improvements. And those 3 are all also very similar.
There’s lots of great comparisons between the different Sony crop cameras out there. I personally really like how Mark Bennett lays out pros and cons lists between all the Sony cameras.
Again though, 95% the same. Especially if you’re just doing photos.
If you’re looking for just a camera to use for photos and maybe put on a tripod for cheap, the Sony a6300 is a great choice. I think it’s identical to the a6500 aside from not having ibis or a touch screen.
If you want something like the a6300 but with some more features, the zve10 is the same image quality and with more features and a flip out screen. It might not be totally ideal for photography due to no viewfinder but for general video work it’s a good step up due to its features, especially for RUclips and stuff.
If you’re mostly into photography but want to do a little bit of filming time to time, then the a6400 could be good and maybe better over the zve10.
The next step up would be the a6700 imo. It’s got a viewfinder and will be marginally better for photos than the a6300 and a6400 but the video capabilities are night and day better over all 3 of those cameras. Way better image quality, low light, and the a6700 also has tons of features, like best in class autofocus, ai auto framing, and more.
As someone who is pretty video focused, if you’re not just looking for a camera to play with, the a6700 (or zve10 II probably) is absolutely worth the extra money over all the other crop cameras.
I’ve had my fx30 (same image quality as the a6700) for less than a year and it’s gotten me hired onto more jobs than my a6500 has in the 8 years I’ve had it.
I still use my a6500 for RUclips though and would happily take another for it, though I’d probably prefer the zve10 or a6400 for the screen. And if I had the money, I’d go for the zve10 II or a6700, but only because they’d double as another camera I feel somewhat comfortable taking on a professional shoot. Though I use a lot of timecode so really another. fx30 is the lower end for what could double as a professional video camera for me and RUclips.
It really is like 95% the same just with the smaller details making one a better choice over the other.
