Bad News, Air India Updates & LATAM Expansion

Lufthansa has reported big losses for the first quarter of 2024 amid strike action and delayed aircraft and expects this to continue into Q2. Meanwhile, Air India will send its Airbus A350 to Dubai, acting as the first international destination for the aircraft as the airline enters a new era and attempts to turn its fortunes around. Lastly, LATAM has announced that starting in October, it will resume nonstop flights between Santiago and Sydney, enhancing connectivity.

Air India (AI) will resume Delhi (DEL) - Zurich (ZRH) service since this coming June 16th, 4 x / week on Mo, We, Fr, Su with a B787-800 as per Aeroroutes. Coming back after 26 years !
Timings are very convenient as pax arrives at 08.05 in the morning, leaving ZRH in the evening.

so bad service, i cancelled my international tickets from them after my Christmas trip. They dont answer customer or give them food drinks reasons for a day delay or so. Second time for me and cancelled tickets. No more!

Part of the losses at Lufthansa also comes from their cabin retrofitting costs. Rumor has it that they plan to retrofit the lower deck of the 747-8, but leave the old seats on the upper deck. Are they expecting business class passengers to pay the same amount for the old and new seats? Weird.

Air India is no more a National Carrier. It has now been bought by its original owner, the Tatas. Now the Tatas will modify this aircraft to an international level.

With regard to strikes, would you seriously want to fly an airline whose pilots are dissatisfied with their pay. Lufthansa should factor in sufficient pay to avert future strikes!

Last week travelled from Delhi to London in Air India in business class. The crew needs training badly . Service was very poor. Never again.
