I don't know too much about birds, but gulls have always been one of my favorites. I find their cries very relaxing, and I miss the times that I've lived closer to the water when I could wake up to their calls sometimes. It's telling how this video is going on 10 years old and the oldest comments here were made only a year ago. I suppose a lot of people don't like gulls. That's their problem....
I really like gulls including the laughing gull and the greater black-backed gull. I also like the different kinds of terns such as least terns, sandwich terns, royal terns, and common terns.
I think it's their shrieks and calls that are hurting human ears. They are adapted to windy coastal habitat where sound does not travel upwind well. Constant winds also makes them stronger and it's why they can use these brawny muscles to be aggressive. It also means they need a protein rich diet. They're like the pitbulls among birds.
I don't get all the hate. Gulls and Terns are all majestic animals 🌻 Although the world is full of hate, so it kind of makes sense. I wonder what animal will hate us the most when the planet is destroyed 🤔

Gulls and terns are among the finest of birds. Challenging, but well worth it.
