I’m such a fan of the control she has on her voice and how she can sound like a tiger one second and then sweet as hell the next. She really DOES mix in so well with everything else happening on stage. Love the mixing. We’ll always miss Chester, but I’m so happy Emily is here helping the band carry on. That’s amazing. I grew up near where Chester lived in Mesa AZ. I’ve met him. I’ve been to many concerts. He left us WAY too early but I know in my heart, I know in my soul he would approve of the new singer as I do. She sings her heart out Just like he did. And that fact is very clear. I lost my two favorite singers within a year Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington and it wrecked me internally and externally. Emily has reignited a fire I thought was long dead. Thank you and keep screaming as though the gods were listening.

This sounds really good for the difficulty it has (and I mean all the songs in general), and that's what matters. His voice was irreplaceable, and we will always admire him for it, but now it's time to wait for new songs, enjoy them, feel new things, let them transmit something different to us. I loved Linkin Park since 2000 and had the pleasure of seeing them early on before they got huge and then later with Korn on tour in the early 2000s. Love them! And Emily- you freaking rock- LOVE YOU!!!!❤
I'm sorry but no, his voice is not at all suitable for Linkin Park. It takes a lot of power to sing this music and although she has a beautiful voice, there is no intensity. The goal is not to copy Chester but to match the group's DNA. And there, it failed.

Male to Female can't ever be compared. However one can certainly be better than the other. Which Chester is. No way on Earth would Linkin Park have become so successful had they originally had a female lead vocalist. Their new single is fantastic, but it'll probably be their most successful due to the controversy and revisited memory that Chester is gone. I love the band and will follow regardless. That new single is better than the whole of One More Light, as much as i feel awful for saying do.

god, I thought their music would be... different, somehow with Emily, and while there's no replacing Chester, Goddamn does she do an amazing job of carrying his torch. I'm getting the same chills hearing her sing as I did when I first heard Chester a little over two decades ago. I don't care how controversial it is, I'm so glad to have Linkin Park performing again.
Her voice is actually very clean and nothing like Chester's. I liked her as the lead singer in spite of that. But its very different from a male voice wich I was used to hear in Linking Park songs. But this "scratchyness" in the voice si actually a technique called "drive" and to use drive the base for it is learning Vocal Fry as the other guy mentioned before.

Id imagine a lot of the cracking here could be nerves. Shes only going to get better from here, and i think her vocals fit the band really well overall.

Everyone cries because of the memories associated with the lyrics tied to him. Her vocals dont elicit any of the emotions his did. She cant sustain notes long enough to make the songs what they once were. To each their own, but her version of these songs is like the difference between your mom making you that dish that hits versus someone following a recipe.

Same, I'm going to give her breathing room to find her footing. Just bummed they didn't go with Bonnie from Stand Atlantic. Bonnie seemed to get the vocal style of Chester, Emily seems very breathy and raspy and seems like she is batting outside of her vocal range a bit but time will tell if she finds her balance between her voice and the bands style.

Male to Female can't ever be compared. However one can certainly be better than the other. Which Chester is. No way on Earth would Linkin Park have become so successful had they originally had a female lead vocalist. Their new single is fantastic, but it'll probably be their most successful due to the controversy and revisited memory that Chester is gone. I love the band and will follow regardless. That new single is better than the whole of One More Light, as much as i feel awful for saying do.

Emily will be great, the new material written for her voice sounds fantastic and she’ll find her own way with the classics in time. Naturally she’ll be compared to Chester and some folks will never be happy, but she is the future, they will go forward with her whilst having a deep respect for their legacy and the memory of their lost brother.

Her voice is actually very clean and nothing like Chester's. I liked her as the lead singer in spite of that. But its very different from a male voice wich I was used to hear in Linking Park songs.
But this "scratchyness" in the voice si actually a technique called "drive" and to use drive the base for it is learning Vocal Fry as the other guy mentioned before.

This really made me cry, I was all buffed up listening to the concert, when suddenly she sang this song that was literally Lost in time and it's actually a song asking for help written by Chester, he always made everyone know how he felt through his lyrics and it breaks my heart every time I really listen to Linkin park 💔❤️
Everyone cries because of the memories associated with the lyrics tied to him. Her vocals dont elicit any of the emotions his did. She cant sustain notes long enough to make the songs what they once were. To each their own, but her version of these songs is like the difference between your mom making you that dish that hits versus someone following a recipe.

Same, I'm going to give her breathing room to find her footing. Just bummed they didn't go with Bonnie from Stand Atlantic. Bonnie seemed to get the vocal style of Chester, Emily seems very breathy and raspy and seems like she is batting outside of her vocal range a bit but time will tell if she finds her balance between her voice and the bands style.

Sabemos que no es Chester, pero él ya ha dejado su legado. Comienza una nueva etapa, un nuevo estilo, una nueva voz. Si queremos tener más Linkin Park, hay que hacerles saber que estamos con ellos. Esto suena realmente bien para la dificultad que tiene (y me refiero a todas las canciones en general), y eso es lo que importa. Esta canción nos puede sonar rara a algunos, porque está cantando una canción de Chester, y esperamos que suene como él. Inevitablemente en nuestra cabeza tratamos de compararlo. Su voz era irremplazable, y siempre lo admiraremos por ello, pero ahora toca esperar nuevas canciones, disfrutarlas, sentir cosas nuevas, dejar que nos transmitan algo distinto. Las otras canciones no han desaparecido y siempre las tendremos ahí, y que las canten no es una forma de sustituirlo, sino de homenajearlo. Todas las canciones nuevas que vengan sonarán increíbles con esa nueva voz y un nuevo estilo adaptado a ella. Si no os gusta o no os suena bien algo es simplemente porque estas canciones no estaban hechas para ella sino para otra persona, por eso hay partes en las que tiene que dejárselo al público también, ya que es un gran esfuerzo tratar de adaptarlas. A mí también me cuesta aceptar que es otra persona, a otros les resultará más fácil. Pero sé que lo aceptaré rápido y cada vez me gustará más. Cuando ella cante las suyas propias, adaptadas a su voz (como la que ya han sacado) otras personas no podrán imitarla. Repito para todos los comentarios de odio: ella sabe perfectamente que no es Chester y ha tenido el valor de implicarse. Cantar sus canciones no es sustituirlo ni buscar ser él, es mostrarle respeto y admiración. Mantener su recuerdo. Tenéis que entender que esto va a ser otro grupo con el mismo nombre. Si a cualquier persona que entre a la banda vais a compararla con Chester, no vais a dejar que Linkin Park avance o que saquen cosas nuevas. Disfrutad las cosas que hicieron con Chester, y disfrutad las cosas que harán con Emily.
