    Making good money before you retire is super important. It can boost your social security benefit and give you a stronger retirement portfolio. Basically, the more you earn now, the better off you’ll be later.

      Prioritizing effective personal finance management holds greater significance than the sheer amount saved, irrespective of income source. consulting a certified financial advisor can offered tailored strategies to optimize financial results by reducing expenses and enhancing income, regardless of whether it’s earned through employment or investments

      I totally agree. At 60 and newly retired, I’ve got about $1.25 million in outside retirement funds. With no debt and only a small chunk of my portfolio in retirement funds over the past three years, I see how crucial a financial advisor is.

      I had a similar thing happened. I had a Roth 401k for a while. I was getting ready to retire in 2020, so in late 2019, I moved it to a Roth IRA with a big brokerage. They said the 5-year rule start over, so by 2024, it’s all good. Also I moved a traditional 401k there too, but kept it secret from the Roth. My employer’s admin said I was the first to do just a Roth 401k transfer, so they had to update their system for it. Luckily it was quick. Goodluck with your situation!

    I run a small IT department and one of my hats is being the defacto cyber security person among other roles.. Would be willing to bet money there is someone or several IT people at CDK who have been pushing for security additions over the years and have been blocked because it's "too expensive." I just got an oil change at my local Toyota dealership (Houston area) where they use this software, and they couldn't sell me any "recommended" service that I didn't need. They just did what I asked for and they had no clue what service they have done before (no history). They couldn't even give me a receipt. The sales people were just sitting around doing nothing, but there was only one couple shopping for a new vehicle. If I was a salesperson at a dealership, I would start the day by showing a sample of my inventory every day on social media, with my personal contact info (cell number).

    I would love to find how much CDK has spent for Cybersecurity over the last 10yrs. My guess would be not nearly enough. Corporations don't understand how painful a cyber attack can be and usually skimp on paying for it instead sometimes even buying back their stock with the funds they should be spending for Security. What they have done for cybersecurity will probably come out in Court in all the lawsuits they will be defending. If Customers'and Employees credit card data, Social Security numbers and passwords are compromised they are in for a world of hurt.

All dealerships need to go out of business. The last few years showed how awful they really are. The last place I worked at still has markup on all there cars by up to 7 grand. Even the cheap cars. And they still sell 300 cars a month. The public allows these dealerships to get away with this stuff. I have lost all hope in humanity. And to top it off that particular dealership has been bragging about how they have been making even more money per car since CDK went down. They have stayed open the whole time!

    You don’t have all the context. CDK forced this cloud-based nonsense on dealers with a take it or leave it approach. They weren’t even done transitioning all dealers to it, as other dealers that had the older local-based server version of CDK going weren’t affected. CDK is going to get thoroughly destroyed in court when during discovery its found out via documented communications how much their customers protested the change to a cloud-based server setup for THIS EXACT REASON.

    OPINION: 1. Perhaps this finally starts the bloodbath needed in order to send the prices tumbling. Dealers go out of business in mass, unsold cars flood the market and prices all around drip back to reality.
    2. Also, i can personally attest that EVERY SINGLE STATE title office for real estate has been hacked over the last couple years. Its been mostly kept out of the media.

I'm in Sales Internet Department and have to try and find leads going into every lead source possible while dealing with the GM calling and yelling "did you get this lead, how about this lead, this lead isn't showing assigned to you". There is no way we in the Internet Department can tell whos lead is whos or if the car was sold, and thats how we get paid..... wondering if this can be a class action lawsuit

    Just few days back on june19th I went to the dealership with the intention of buying a used minivan. The sales people took my RealId compliant license and speculated it's validity more than a DHS/ICE/ TSA officers. It was insulting and when I objected and confronted their scrutiny asked if they are law enforcement to doubt it so much, I got yelled at by their sales guy to " Get Out" or spend "Jail Time" . This was just to show a car , buying was too far....I have 0- zero sympathy for the dealerships, I don't even care if they are dying rotting. Car salesmen are the worst kind of vile creatures. They are not truthful to anyone.

    • @EMichaelBall
      @EMichaelBall 3 месяца назад

      I know of one dealership that installed a machine that scans the ID for validity. If a dealer doesn’t want to put such a machine in, that’s on the them. But you’d be surprised by the frequency of fake ID’s being used to steal cars taken on test drives or are service loaned out and disappear.

    • @akumaar
      @akumaar 3 месяца назад

      @@EMichaelBall They did not scan. They did not even take me on a test drive on which they would have accompanied me anyway. If they are so afraid that some one will steal the car then they have to educate themselves very well on quickly spotting a genuine license. They were speculating the expiration date on the license not the license itself.
