Store needles? I am inspired by this video to do that as my tidy up or tackle it project. I have a small supply of needles in different areas of the sewing room. Guess I'll be gathering them up today yay!
I applaud you on doing all of the critter quilts. Nothing would make me crazier than to do that. Maybe some day I will be farther along in my quilt journey and be able to do that. I do love seeing you pull it together! The blocks are so cute. Many thank, Pat for all that you do. I appreciate it and enjoy your smiling face!
The critter quilts are a huge puzzle. That is a lot of work to put together so many disparate sizes, colors and shapes. This is a great example for anyone who has orphan blocks they want to make up into quilts.
Looking forward to seeing how the critter quilt comes along....so many beautiful blocks. One suggestion-might you want to place the deer, whose body is cut off on the left side, on the left edge of the quilt so that it looks as if the deer is coming from the left. I hope this makes sense.😊
And, You’re off to create another unique critter quilt. You are amazing. Sometimes, I think nothing overwhelms you. We’re alike in many ways, but I’m your easily overwhelmed friend. ❤ great video
I love the first draft of the critter quilt. This one appears to be an easier fit than the earlier two. You already have something that looks good without too much added spacers needed! It also appears more like a nearly finished project!
LOL about needles! I keep my machine needles separate by each machine I have. My hand sewing needles are in my hand sewing box and separated by embroidery/cross stitch. That’s a far smaller sewing box than the ones for my big domestic box for my fancy sewing machine.😁 4:30
The critter blocks are all so adorable! I love them all and especially the horse with the patchwork blanket on her back! This will be an amazing quilt! Thank you for sharing with us your process!
What a fun, new project to watch develop. I noticed this Critter quilt has a lot of birds. What a challenge! You are so inspiring, taking on this sort of challenge.
I am SEW EXCITED about the "Kitty Cats" quilt! I have all my fabrics pulled & sewing along will kick me in the rear (!) to finally get it done! THANKS Pat. Loving "Critter Quilt III"--looks like the best one yet.
Your demonstration putting the critters up by size was phenomenal! I look forward to seeing it come together. Have a great weekend, Pat, you fill me with excitement to get sewing!
Thank you for showing about measuring and placement. Looking forward to when you do filters. That is what I am working on now. Love elizabeth hartman animals
The critter quilt is so inspiring! (And a great idea ... no more angst about having to plan an entire quilt based on doing all the same pattern or block)
Hi Pat Im so excited too seeing the 3rd critter quilt beeing build up. BTW I was wondering about the states quilt which you want to do later this year. It should hang in the quilt museum as a reference and memory of all those quilters during the past decates....just my thought you do what ever you want and feel like....many greetings from Germany Bianka
You have inspired me to gather together my sewing needles, they now reside in hidden compartments throughout my sewing spaces. Hidden somewhere, in something, near something that might have needed a needle change. Oh boy, it will be like an Easter egg hunt!!
I’ve made one quilt like you are making the critter quilt only I didn’t have the luxury of a computer to draft it out… I’m going to enjoy watching your process. But, also know (for right now) I don’t want to challenge myself to make a quilt like this again. It was WORK… I’m enjoying following someone’s thought through pattern.😅
aka KPDutyQuiter. The way you set up the Dino blocks is using a similar VALUE, the dark value for the center star. Don't mean to fuss at you, but I teach a color for quilters class. If we are going to be looked at as professionals, use the correct vocabulary. I know it's easy to forget in the pressure of the broadcast moment Love your show and LOVE YOU ❤
My sewing machine needles are in the same small plastic container that you use. Too funny. My hand sewing needles are in multiple small plastic containers for different hand quilting and EPP projects.
Wow thats a lot of needles! I have mine everywhere i am 😂 In the sewing drawer of the machine, in every pin cushion, most are in individual sleeves of an attach in sleeve to a sewing briefcase style tote. I know if anyone could make that orange work it would be you Pat! Your orange bin is overflowing 😂🐿🧡❤️💚🩵💙💜💛
Hmmm... I seem to have needles in various places..Ones for hemming binding are in a basket I have. The ones that are used for machine sewing are within or on their respective sewing machine cabinets. My quilt frame is in my basement and those needles are there. I use empty prescription containers for used needles. I haven't filled one up yet, but, when I do, there are places in the hospital for sharps.
It may not be a sewing notion, but I've been searching for my box cutter. I ordered the pink cart, will use it for storing my spices, so I can bring it along with me when I am cooking and put it away afterwards. The box has been sitting on the table for a week now and I KNOW THAT THE BOX CUTTER is nearby somewhere....wish me luck today, must deal with it now! The Critter Quilt is going to be stunning!
Good morning, Pat! I am laughing so hard after seeing your needle storage, are you my twin??? Lol😂. My storage looks just like mine, plastic tubs and metal tins 😂. But hey, it works for me ❤!
Can you show how you store your threads please? I'm looking for ways to store them with the bobbin attached or next to it, that will fit various sizes of threads and also is a covered container or some way to keep the dust out, and... where you can easily see the colors. Have not found anything that works so far.
Pat, do you use nonstick needles when you do the wave quilting on your table runners and wall hangings that have been spray basted? If you do, what size? If you don’t, what type and size needle do you use?
Love the critter quilt ! Thoughts you might consider donating to: veterinarian hospital, a zoo , environmental group, a wildlife preserve? Some could even be put on a loan program to be displayed for a special occasion or season . Just a thought, love what you do👩🏻🎨🐑
haha.. I haven't even made it yet or had time to enjoy it! Here you are giving my stuff away already. Dont' break the quilters code of conduct ... let me first make and enjoy a piece before i decide what to do with it.

So busy while I was away. I bought the kitty pattern and will be making a few blocks to test it out. The Critter quilt will be amazing! ❤
Yay for critter blocks! They’re so cheery
The critter quilts are a huge puzzle. That is a lot of work to put together so many disparate sizes, colors and shapes. This is a great example for anyone who has orphan blocks they want to make up into quilts.
Thanks for sharing your creative process, Pat. I'm taking notes.
It was so fun to revisit the critters!🐵🐯🦁🦝🦊🐿🦔🐼🐻🐨🫎🦄🦘
I forgot how adorable the remaining critter blocks were.
I can’t wait to see how it all comes together. I love your original quilts‼️‼️‼️

That critter quilt is adorable! Know it's a headache to assemble but so so cute!
There are some adorable critter blocks. I am looking forward to seeing the progress of this quilt.

What a fun, new project to watch develop. I noticed this Critter quilt has a lot of birds. What a challenge! You are so inspiring, taking on this sort of challenge.

Some animal track sashing for the fillers would be cute color source for your critters 🐾🐾
Great to see another critter quilt come together! Adorbs!
I don’t like plastic bags but I made some flat project bags with clear fronts-work great to keep projects “in sight”.
The critter quilt is so inspiring! (And a great idea ... no more angst about having to plan an entire quilt based on doing all the same pattern or block)
Critters are already looking fantastic. Thanks for sharing 👍❤️🙂
Love this Pat!

I made this kitty quilt for a wedding gift and it is off to the long armer. I will share it in 10 weeks when it comes back.

Interesting that a Great Pyrenees is included.
YOU are SO ALL inspiring Pat🎉🎉💕💕💕🧵
Just an idea, for your critter quilt, may be cute to sprinkle some of the fusible sin the border!
I keep mine plastic bags in clear tubs! Because I like to see what I have!
Are you going to do the Cats as a QAL? Love that pattern!
Good Morning, Your Lemon Chiffon quilt has brought a question to mind. How do you address seams that are not “nestled” when joining?
Pat, do you use nonstick needles when you do the wave quilting on your table runners and wall hangings that have been spray basted? If you do, what size? If you don’t, what type and size needle do you use?
Good morning everyone!

Love hummingbirds where can l get a pattern
Pat, How often do you change your machine needles?
❤❤❤
I know the fruit loops is cute fabric, but have you seen Tula's Tabby Road shipping this month. I am doing kitties in Tabby Road. Check it out.
Four dinos in a row with a big border print would make a table runner?
What's the answer to life, the universe and everything? 42! 😆
What animal is the gnome ☺️💞
There is a dragonfly on the gnome.
He has a dragonfly
Store needles the very same way
