Up and coming top chaser right here. Been watching your stuff all year and man you can really make something of this. Keep chasing hard man, earned a subscriber.
Out of everyone I have seen so far, you take the best videos and pictures. Thank you for sharing the beauty. I also love how you and your dad work together.
It can be - when it's going well. It can also be soul destroyingly boring (when you drive day-after-day & see nothing), utterly terrifying (oops, too close!), panic inducing (Aaagh! WHAT do I do NOW!! when you find an injured person), massively traumatizing (seeing the aftermath of something getting splatted), and highly depressing (asking yourself if you could've done more when lives are lost). It can also be REALLY DANGEROUS, both from other drivers being distracted by a tornado, and from the tornado itself if you don't know what you're doing and get trapped in a bad spot. Other than all that, it's harder than it looks, depending on being able to interpret a LOT of data to successfully predict where a tornado is likely to form, while simultaneously working out how to navigate unfamiliar roads to get there. It can also be ferociously expensive, both in the cost of Fuel, and in vehicle maintenance and repair - replacing a windscreen is a regular expense, oil changes become a weekly event, and tires need regular replacement, both from mileage covered, and from debris damage. All that said, it can be immensely rewarding as well. There are chasers who have met those who were saved by their reports, which (reportedly) makes all the time, money, and pain worthwhile...
Did you ever hear of the Mayfield, Kentucky tornado that happened December 10 2021? It wiped out the whole town. Not far at all from where I live. It was a EF4-EF5 tornado. That tornado caused 57 fatalities and 515 injuries
That supercell at 9:03 and 10:07 is bitchen The stacks are awesome ,. And with that green layer it looks otherworldly , not from this planet at all. Wow what a find. One of the best cells I've ever seen. Congratulations , you deserved it after all the down time you guys had. You gotta another sub😎👍
I had to drive back on June 9th, cause I had work on the 10th. I was in ND on the 7th and the 8th. Knew I was going to miss the best day, but what can you do... Stunning video by the way
I'm sorry to hear that man! Hopefully you got some good stuff on the 7th and 8th. There were some decent ones up there. I was close to driving back home on the 9th as well, but then my good friend Mike convinced me to stay. Here's to a better 2022!
@@FreddyMcKinney Honestly, 2021 was a huge year for me. What took the cake was the Sycamore IL tornado, plus a few more that day and one in WI 2 days later. Then intercepting Hurricane Ida in Hammond LA. I made my own year in review video, if you want to take a gander.
We don't have tornados in Denmark, but then one day we had a small gust, appearing as a barely visible baby tornado, that wouldn't even be able to suck in a bird. It was heavily covered in all of our news stations and magazines.
The biggest fear in my life is tornadoes ever since I was a kid my brother would scare me every time the tv warnings went off saying ooooooo it’s coming!!! OMG it’s coming!!! And it freaked me out mentally every time warnings went off for years as a kid. I’m 30 now and in a hypochondria way constantly check radars and 24/7 check the weather during those hours of watches and warnings. It’s not healthy and I need to get over that fear of a tornado. How can I join a storm chase one day? Are their tours or something? I need to see one in person to break this phobia on a ride along.
I appreciate your work and efforts. I'll wish you nothing but the joy that you receive from doing this, and more! Tho, my heart warms up every time someone mentions Pecos Hank. Hes a true treasure!
5:04 this is the first time ive seen video from that event . i was at work in Wolf Point MT just watching cell after cell spawn and move north.... making a WALL of cells and i was staring at the back side of it (looking directly east pretty much) . i was watching it on radar and PLEADING with my boss to let me go early lol . . IIRC.... everything went QLCS in NE MT.... malta got a few cool storms that didnt last very long and/or hauled butt into canada . we didnt get a lot of rain.... just QLCS windbags
7:22 ya... they were just exactly the same... one right after the other for HOURS . one of the stranger things ive seen and it really didnt go QLCS iirc . they stayed as supercells or at least strong cells, and moved NNE they didnt group up into a line and move more east like everything in NE MT did . idk... it might have done that in the late hours when the sun was setting.... i cant remember i just know it was one of the stranger (and COOL AF) things ive seen in NE MT weather
Did you chase the December 2021 a Derecho storms? I live in west-central Iowa and had 3 tornadoes within 4 miles of my house, including an EF-0 that was within an 1/4 mile of my house!
22:26 it looks to me like it got a boost from entering the cut crop (possibly hotter / wetter air??) . if you look at the VERY base, right above the ground..... and when it starts making a higher pitched whoosing/whistle sound... the base sorta leans forward and appears to accelerate . once in the cut crop... the structure changes also . . im not even a "real chaser" (yet... i plan to get my spotter training done soon TM) just a nerd who has watched every tornado doc on youtube and chases locally (no tornadoes...yet... just big hail, strong winds, and amazing structure...AKA malta MT supercell) . but their is a definite change maybe its the cut drop.... allowing for less "wind drag" and/or possibly being hotter and wetter air maybe it was an RFD surge . idk.... just thought it might spark a discussion or chance for people to learn
@@FreddyMcKinney Obviously! Mine was the same. Brave enough to let us explore our interests and stoic enough to clean up any resulting blood without losing her mind! Though there was, occasionally, some hollering...

@@FreddyMcKinney thank you for actually reading and replying😇😎 and Thank you for caring about your safety. Hopefully you’ll soon see that the outside view of the cell is actually what we don’t get to see as often as we should, but you guys did get some excellent outer views....and that’s the biggest reason I decided to sub....second, your videography is breathtaking! Have a wonderful and safety filled day!⚡️⚡️⛈⛈⚡️⚡️⚡️
I genuinely didn’t realize Americans ACTUALLY ate fried chicken for breakfast? I mean live you’re truth kings but i thought they were joking about that😅

Dude this took a full intermission and popcorn! That was amazing!
Latest video on my channel is some slightly closer timelapse of the Kit Carson landspouts and tornado touchdown.
I’ll have to check it out! That was an amazing storm! I’m glad you got to see it!
@@highvoltagefeathers You absolutely killed it! By far the crispiest footage I’ve seen from that day!
Great video. pleasure playing a cameo role at the end.
Thanks for stopping by and entertaining us! Glad I finally got to meet you!
I'm getting Pecos Hank vibes from this, and I'm all for it
Pecks Hank clone
Absolutely fantastic man, incredible work. Congrats on the fantastic season!!! See you out there next year
Thanks Isaac!! We gotta chase this year bro
9:48 and 10:06 was possibly the most beautiful view of a shelf cloud I've ever seen. Great work

I do either. The most important part is NO coleslaw lol
Exceptional production quality, choice storms, clear footage, and awesome people. :D Dude you hit this one out of the park. Great job!
Love this compilation of chasing footage! ❤ Sometimes you get to see action other times it quiets down. Very nice job. "NEVER STOP CHASING" -Timmer.

@6:25 - In Steve Carell's voice "That's what she said!"
what's that lowering to the left at 12:32? or am I just going crazy
I’m not sure. Maybe a scud bomb?
@@FreddyMcKinney Didn't think of that. Definitely a possibility
The chicken part made me laugh haha
19:25 looks just like the scene with the first tornado in the Twister movie
at 12:31 I saw what looked like could have been a funnel cloud but idk if its just an SLC when the lightning flashed
