I do not like to have little tiny triangles of fabric in the corners of my stripped pieces, because they get "eaten up" in the seam allowances, and there's often too much bulk in those corners too. So, I would start out by putting a TRIANGLE of fabric in the corner instead of a little strip. Actually, I would start piecing the strips onto the batting somewhere in the middle and work outward, but if I were going to start at one of the corners, I would start with a triangle that's somewhat larger than that tiny strip. And then the same as you work toward the other corner -- pin another triangle to that corner while you are adding the other strips, and that way you will have a nice triangle in that corner too, instead of a very tiny strip. Just my opinion. Thanks for the video!
I had to read your message about three times to figure out what you were talking about but I think I figured it out. Everybody that I have watched making something like this they do start in the middle. See you Saturday!

Vanessa from the RUclips channel called the crafty Gemini when she is sewing her lining, she comes in an extra eighth of an inch or so that way the lining fits nicely inside of the bag. It starts off at the zipper, the same same allowance, but then tapers.

Most likely quilters select. I believe that is what it’s called because that’s typically all they sell on their website. Probably cotton, but I’m gonna start using more of polyester batting.

See you Saturday!
@@dcwatashi Sorry my explanation was not very clear. 😜 But I totally stand by my "triangles in the corner" method. I have a TON of triangle scraps.
@@jonnaosborne1832 it just took a few times for me to get it

What is the name of the thread, type, and location for purchase?
We use Aurifil thread, and you can get it in store or online at Sew Yeah Quilting!
The only thing I'd do differently is top stitch the exterior sides on both sides of the zipper. It's great to see other men sew.
I thought same
I was also going to say that😂😂
Thanks , but what happened to the zipper? Did u cut it or ???
Yes he cut both ends after he sews the edges of the main part of the bag together along with stitching over the zipper first in the video.
@@rebeccasorensen7925 cutting the two ends weakened the zipper specially the slider side bcz that’s where the zipper locks !

Surprise that you didn’t use Carolina Moore’s boxed ruler for at least two of those box corners, just to showcase her ruler again
We wanted to! Our sample makers were using it :P

Great project. The fake plant next to the sewing machine is a bit distracting. I don’t think you need it on the set.
