Flew in to Mexico City today for the first time on a stop over to Austin, Texas. Wow. what a Ginormous city. The green space next to the high rise buildings look like Central park NY from the air
Fun fact: Central Park was inspired in Bosque Chapultepec, also, Bosque de Chapultepec is several times larger than Central Park
@Beatryxa7 Do your own research bud. Bosque de Chapultepec is way older than Central Park in NYC.
Also, Not only rich people do live around Bosque de Chapultepec, There's also middle class neighborhoods and even low class neighborhoods
@@TheyCallMeBeto that’s incorrect Central Park was inspired by Birkenhead Park in England.
Very informative! Gracias for updating us about Mexico City! We follow you from St Albans, England UK 🇬🇧 but we are half Mex and half Brits! We are ‘the Mex Brits’ Jorge y Kathy. me encanta CDMX.
Can you hear me Major Tom?

So look forward to appreciate all of Mexico City. I hope to be there soon!
I'm here in Mexico City visiting. South Santa Fe 2 days ago. I keep looking for you guys on the street! From Spokane Washington
Spokane, like a year ago you had the same problem with the fires and smoke. Now they are having that in Mexico City.
@@robnyc5461 you are absolutely right! Good memory. Can't tell if it is smoke from fires or just the smog.
I'm the patron of the day! My husband and I were watching and my name came up! You guys are awesome! Keep up the amazing work. We can't wait to go to Mexico, Leon, Guadalajara and Mexico City soon!
Thank you for your support Jeannette!! :)
Keep up the great work!!!
I lived in CDMX (well, DF back then!) until 2001 until I left the country for some years. I came back in 2012, and you’re not exaggerating about how Santa Fe has grown. I remember there used to be the mall and the Iberoamericana University, but not much else (and yes, built on what used to be a dump). Then when I came back it was literally a whole new, incredibly modern city. Amazing.
Hola from Spain, we retired here from Plano TX. Making me rethink my decision 😉
Yolanda Gilchrist hello Mexico is definitely better and cheaper than all Europe together
@Steven Lee I am from Texas and moved/retired to Spain almost 2 years ago.
Lol, why bother leaving Dallas just to retire in Santa Fe? IMHO you picked the right spot to retire. Mexico City is fantastic, but South of Spain is safer and it’s cheap enough for retirees, esp if you’re getting a pension and renting out your place in Plano (hope you didn’t sell).
come to México, I would like to know you!!!!!
Hilary and their personal touch when something has another level. That's priceless. Simply hilarious. 😂😂😂
LOVE the music 💚💚💚😊 Santa Fe is BEAUTIFUL! I haven’t been there in a long time! Enjoy

Thank you guys for promoting my city the way you do... greetings from Mexico City
Talking about architecture, you should explore El Nido De Quetzalcoatl is a park and the building have an snake architecture, they are pretty cool
I think they'd need to make an airbnb reservation there to be able to even enter.
I like it when you show us around the places taking good views of stuff we don't see in the U.S. Thanks great video.!!
Go to the new cinemex market, it's a different concept of a cinema located in the Artz Pedregal Mall. 😊

I recommend you go to Real de Monte, El Chico and Husca de Ocampo in the State of Hidalgo, very close to the City of Pachuca, these places are 1:45 minutes from Mexico City, you will like them a lot (The three places are Magical Towns). Best Regards

That centro Santa Fe, one of my favorite ones in Mexico City, it's huge!, and the whole Mexico City my favorite, saludos Hill and Greg:D
Santa Fe was a project created by Carlos Salinas de Gortari in the early 2000s rn there is a similar project being constructed in Monterrey called distrito armida and distrito Diego Rivera with lots of modern crystal buildings
With all the money he stole from Mexico many more Santa Fe's could be built all over the country
@@MrEdwar084 with the money the current president is stealing to give it to centroamerica, many more projects could be build in Mexico. Corruption stay, even in greater extent.
@@pablogarza833 are ou sure he is sending money to centroamerica? really ? how much ?

There’s plenty of modern neighborhoods in Mexico. My dad’s Mexican and his family’s from Guanajuato, and Jalisco and the time I went I saw skyscrapers, good housing, and overall everyday modern locations. Sadly, I’ve only been once. Glad you guys enjoy it! My moms from Spain, you should check spain out too. It’s the same way.
Hi guys!
In fact the beginning of "Santa Fe" new development was in 1986 after Mexico City earthquake that occurred in 1985.
- In a trash Land Filled -
- The "Ibero-American University" construct is new headquarters, and in the early 90's The skyscrapers and the first shopping Center.
- I Was a Kid Working with AutoCad for an architecture Studio Proyects for that Land "Santa Fe" -

It's missing to visit Interlomas and Satelite, they are modern places too, here in Mexico city. Also is missing to visit Tlateloco, there you can find archeological sites like "caja de agua", "Parroquia de Santiago Apóstol" , this church is a mix between aztec and spanish culture; museums like :"Centro Cultural Universitario Tlatelolco", "Museo indigena" , also there are a lot of parks liike "Huerto Tlatelco", "Jardín Santiago Tlatelolco", "Jardín de la Paz"
Satélite está re culero
Satelite, moderno? LOL
I am from Mexico City myself (51 year old) Santa Fe used to be Mexico City’s “trash dump” Yes Mexico City’s garbage used to be dumped here for decades on end. Everything changed in the early 1990’s
Friends. "Santa Fe" and "La Mexicana" park are really awesome, beautiful and very modern. Thanks for sharing another amazing video. CDMX is hard to beat. 😎 Sorry "Monterrey enos". 😂😂😂
All the country taxes go to Mexico City. Is understandable they have the best city.
Ricardo Campos hahaha what a lie you've just said, Monterrey taxes stay in Monterrey, it's just that CDMX has a much larger population , more population= more taxes invested in their city,at the same time that makes big corporations invest their money in this city, CDMX ain't taking any taxes from the states, CDMX isnt the same as the federal government my friend, lo sé porque soy mexicano y economista ;)
@@dazd14 I'm not from Monterrey, but also all the money when crossing the bridge from united states to Mexico it goes to Mexico City. I was exaggerating but a fraction of all the states taxes go to Mexico City. The federal government don't know how to administer the money and they keep it there for the most time.
@@ricardocampos6517 Mexico city has always been ahead of the rest of the country, people there have a progressive way of thinking.
@@buscador2007 I know that, I'm not arguing about that, I'm just saying they have advantage from the rest of the country. That's where most of the corrupt of the POLITICIANS keep the money and make business.

Santa Fe is a great area. Amazing to think it used to be the city dump years ago. Many corporations have their Mexico HQ there.
Todo México es hermoso,mi querido México
I agree with you. There is a subtle touch of art in the architecture on these buildings. I love that!!
Good to see another of your video. We love seeing your videos
I live in Dallas as well, i drive past modern high-rises to work everyday, i'm so used to it, that seeing them in mexico city, even though impressive... i wouldn't be so impressed, i have been to Santa Fe, but have yet to visit mexicana park. I am more impressed with the mesoamerican ruins and colonial architecutre as well. I love this channel alot btw.
Hahaha we Mexicans are the opposite, we are amazed at the great buildings.
Gregg and Guera...the name SANTA FE, cones from the Chapters of SANTA FE, between The Kings of Spain and Christopher Columbus in 1492, as a contract to know what each other could get...
Great video Mr. and Mrs. Kennon!! 😊👍🧡
hope you're having an amazing day guys? saludos desde California
The area were originally a empied lawnfield. Outside of México City .
That eas when the Goverment had and brilliant idea to develop a Comercial distrit and apartment housing complex. Adding a big park
To be used as recreational area serving the neighborhood.around.
i woud love to have a whallet like that if possible. Please go to Tepotzotlán, it is an old convent and now it is an old colonial paintings museum. Just beautiful !!! thank you for your wonderful videos. My very best from Guadalajara.
If you were a BILLIONAIRE where would you choose to live in Mexico?
Guadalajara, looks okay, my father was from there! You have a lots of places where you can go near by. ;)
Mazatlan or Puerto Vallarta !
San Miguel de Allende or tulum QR
Los Cabos or Cancún
Mismaloya, Santa Fe looks very modern and beautiful but, it’s seems to be missing that soul, a vibe that a city puts out. It’s hard to explain but, you feel it when you travel.
I amazed by the mall and wonder what kind of volume those stores do. I'm in LA...and those stores are not uncommon in an upper end mall...but they do a lot of volume to make their numbers!
Hola amigos, good video, very nice and very modern, but $$$$$$$... I take the province instead, San Miguel de Allende all the way. Keep in mind that I am from Mexico City.
those buildings are astronomically expensive but man they are hideous, only rich flashy people with no problem with ugliness and lack of beauty must be willing to live there.

I live in Canada since a coupe of decades ago but before moving here I used to work in Santa Fe end of 90’s I remember what impressed me back then was the corporate buildings very modern at the time many of them with automation I never seen in my travels to Germany of the USA, if you can go to that area also in Santa Fe so you can see great architecture buildings I used to work in a building known as “la Lavadora” based on Mayan Cosmology, some tables in a glass floor in the top floor that you could see everything below you (not recomendable for people afraid of highs lol!) very interesting also took several courses in “El Pantalón” the view from there was phenomenal you should go there, very good restaurants and nice architecture
la guera accent with the R in spanish is so cute..

Great drone shot! Was just there two weeks ago, glad to see the rain coming in!
I rented in a condo bldg in Acapulco that looked like a cartoon. It was designed by the (LSD)acid-crazed son of the local Corona dealer. Bizarre true, but very livable AND it faced the Pacific Ocean and north to Pie de la Cuesta, a wonderful beach area outside of ACA.
Thanks for the video !! I caught a Freudian slip on geography, Santa Fé is on the northwest part of México city! I went to la Ibero when it inaugurated and remember it clearly up to this day. I would like to see sala Nezahualcóyotl. It has the best classical music played anywhere. Thanks again! :)
You were lucky to film the video when agapantos are blooming. 3:01

Other great video ✌ BUT plz do other "A day in the life" video!!! Esos videos me encantan ❤
Yeah, blown away by the beauty of these skyscrapers as well as the verdant areas, so the biggest, the POSHEST Mall is Santa Fe? Being from the interior I had heard that comparing Satélite in the north and Perisur in the south, Perisur is AWESOME! Maybe next time Güerita and you Goyo can trek from your neighborhood to Perisur, or go there by the metro? Santa Fe is another place, like Condesa, where: "Puros hipsters aquí vato"! XD
Hey guys! Congratulations all the information you guys mentioned in videos is totally legit! Good job!
Please visit the north of Mexico City, the metro area. Like park of sculptures in cuautitlán Izcalli or Lake Guadalupe, the magical town of Tepotzotlán, xochitla or arcos del sitio, and so on
The skyscrapers are definitely modern and feats if engineering and builders. I just don't think I'd care to live in one with the history if earthquakes there. Give me something closer to the ground and less dense!
The idea of being 30 to 40 minutes outside Mexico City may appeal to some but I'd prefer to be closer to the heart of the city for the arts, museums, dining, and all the activities found downtown. Living in one of the largest cities in the US, I've seen people move out to the suburbs only to later become unhappy and return to where the action is.
Earthquakes are the very reason why Santa Fe exists. After 85, many people fled the more central areas towards the rocky west, which is why you'll actually be safer in one of those buildings if you're caught in one.
Unfortunately, the heart of the city sits atop the lake, which makes earthquakes worse. However, I and most people agree with you, many central neighborhoods have experienced a renaissance in the last decade. Living there simply offers a better quality of life... at the cost of a slightly increased risk.
Santa Fe is a neighborhood in Mexico City, it is 30, 40 minutes from downtown

Go to UAM Cuajimalpa, one of the nicest and most modern public universities in México. It pretty close to Santa Fe.
and then we also have the tiniest houses from infonativ..
this reminds me of a architect interview that he said that some people leave third world in the morning and go to the first world during work day just to return to the third world by night....
In the US there is a thing for tiny houses, no such thing as a third world class.
