      @gregorytatoian4181 I can't remember a distinct difference in sound or volume! I think the tech internally is quite similar (which plays in to the acoustics) much of a muchness

      @@FredzGolfHave you tested the Mizuno STZ 230 ? How does it compare to the PXG Gen 6 ?

      @@ariesnc6320 I've not tested any Mizuno drivers! I don't have any access unless a customer brings one in and is happy for me to film a comparison :( I'll keep an eye out though!!

    Hi Freddie, what's your hight and shaft length if u don't mine me asking? Debating on cutting my shaft down half inch, just wondering if it's worth it, does feel a little more secure when I do grip down a bit.

    • @FredzGolf
      @FredzGolf  Год назад +1

      I'm 5ft 10" and the shaft is 45" ...PXG's stock length is 45" and I tend to build at 45" in general, as opposed to the 45.5"-45.75" you get in a lot of 'standard' lengths 🙃

      Awesome!! Thanks. I am 5 9" and was thinking of cutting down from 45.5 to 45, which I thing I will do, just feels a little more control gripping down a touch, but rather not feeling the need to grip down.

      @@captainsnake7406 Sounds like a good idea to me ...If you have the option to grip down and grip up, you might vary ....if you cut half inch off it, you're forced in to being consistent with that element :)

      @@captainsnake7406 You need to be careful when doing this as it will alter just about every aspect of the club's performance...
      Cutting an 1" off a driver shaft will change the swing weight by about 6 points which is a lot. This in turn will then affect the flex of the shaft.
      The solution is that U need more weight (or less weight in the grip). If you put more weight in the head then U will alter the launch and spin characteristics of the club. U can put more weight in the tip of the shaft, but not if it's pre glued into the hosel or adapter.
      For that reason if U want to experiment with a shorter driver shaft, id recommend building a separate shaft for the purpose. If U want the club to feel similar but at a shorter length without addidng excess weight then U will need to order a slightly heavier weight of shaft i.e. 75 instead of 65. A lot of people simply find a cheap secondhand 3 wood shaft but the problem here is that they are tipped different from the driver shaft to accommodate the heavier head weight and shorter shaft length of the 3 wood...as one of the disadvantages or just general changes you have to counter when shortening Ur driver shaft is generally slightly lower launch, this option may not work so well as a shaft tipped for a 3 wood and installed in a driver will further exaggerate this...
      I hope this helps... mccustom golf is a good place to start understanding what Ur actually doing before cutting up Ur favourite $500 shaft 😉

      @@daveeastcott9323 appreciate it. I've done this before by cutting an inch off the tip of a regular shaft making play stiff and that worked out great. In this instance I would be cutting a half inch off the end of a stiff 55 shaft.
