Mr. Mulligan: I know you'll most likely never see this small comment, but I'm going to write it anyway. Please believe me when I say that God is speaking to me through your song. Not a single lyric is sung that doesn't hold meaning for me, and what my life has looked like the past year and a half. And especially where I am now. Especially now. Truth be told, I don't think God loves me, or that He accepts me as I am; I don't know how I drifted so far away, and why I believe so many lies when I know they are lies. I am always a long way off from a long way off (Luke 15), and don't know what will happen if I try to come home, or if I can even come home, and what will happen if I try to know Him again, like I did a year ago. I don't know what to do, and your song feels like God's answer to me. I bought your album before I heard this song; I would have bought it had I heard this song first, and never heard any other on the disc. Your whole album is speaking to a despairing 21-year old who doesn't think she can or ever will come Home. Thank you for your transparency with all things faith, doubt, and perseverance, like your AccessMore podcasts. Thank you for encouraging me to always come to God with honesty about how dark things are. Your music has become, for me, God's way of helping me hold on to Him. Thank you, for it all.
I know I'm not Mr. Mulligan, and I hope he sees your beautiful comment, but I can relate to how you feel. I have wrestled with the same feelings of doubt and with believing God could love me, but I have faith that He does and I know that He loves you too. I believe He is always ready to welcome us home again if we come unto Him with a sincere heart and even just with the desire to believe in His grace. I'm at a cross roads in my life right now . 7 years earlier I had lost my husband and my father and my land and home and seem to just went way down hill from there . Somehow was caught up in a relationship that wasn't even good from the very start . Drugs became such a big part of my everyday . I was truly lost and didn't see a way out but God ! But God , was right there to pull me out of that pit . Hallelujah ! And I finally moved out of the place I was suffocated by . Back in the area I once loved and making a new start a new beginning , a new light in my life . Glory be to God !

I’ve struggled with anxiety recently as well so I know and understand that. I encourage you to cast your anxiety on God and turn to him when it strikes. He is a wonderful counselor and mighty God. Trust Him through it all. He stands with you.
