    They're definitely fun. I've been running Gmags and G&P Pmags for propane magazines, and I also have some EB Co2s as well.
    It definitely helps if you trim down the routers by 0.5mm on the GHK mags , if you ask around in the right places you'll see a good way to do that! Helps the action run smoother and keeps the nozzle from gouging out the router. Swapping to a light hammer spring can skyrocket the efficiency as well, in exchange for a lighter trigger!

    • @BadaBingPictures
      @BadaBingPictures  2 года назад +1

      Once again, thanks for the tips mate. Really appreciate it! Going to do some improvements and look at picking up a lighter hammer spring.
      Interestingly my eb co2 routers sit quite high. For example engaging the forward assist helps push it over them. Thankfully they won’t get used. The gmags aren’t as much in the line of fire, so to speak.

      @@BadaBingPictures Good to hear. Good choice on not using them too anyway, VT has said it is not recommended to run CO2 on the 18mm carriers as it can cause them to bulge with extended use in warmer weather, although in the UK I'm not sure if that's as common of an issue as it would be in TW. The EB tech build quality is certainly nice, though.

      Thanks buddy! Yep, it’s been a dream gun for a while now. Also I have a small collection of GHK mags and been carefully crafting them to slide easily into the 416. I’m surprised they drive the system as well as it does on propane.
      When I owned an INO back in 2010 it couldn’t perform anywhere near this with the same gas.

    Great video! I used to have a Viper Tech myself, but they had horrible QC when I bought mine.
    I'd strongly recommend replacing the charging handle on yours as soon as possible. The steel latch on this will absolutely destroy your upper where it interfaces. The 6061 aluminium they use is not strong enough to resist the blunt steel latch paired with the very strong recoil spring smashing into the upper every time you rack it. Get something like a Geissele or Raptor WA style charging handle if you can, which use aluminium latches.

      Interesting. I remember the one on my VFC HK417 poking a hole through the receiver!

    Welcome to the vipertech club, great choice. I have a view of them and one of them is the 416 as well. Front heavy but sweet. Enjoy the heck out of it, you won’t break it they are build like tanks. One suggestion if you are into heavy recoil I’d highly recommend doing the devils mod on the ebtech GI mags and get a reel steel buffer the recoil will be so much stronger it will be more crisp and the rate of fire will go up.
    H1 buffer rate will be around 1200 I believe
    And super heavy H4 buffer will drop it to around 800 rounds per minute.
    Been playing for years like that and the Gbbr is loving it no problems with it also the ebtech mags are taking it very well even in 100 plus Fahrenheit / 37 celcius weather but only the GI mags the p mags style one seem not to like the devils mood too much.
    I’m very excited for you I remember my first vipertech😁

      Thanks Tomi.
      I’m enjoying it so far. I’ve set it up to use propane by installing a soft hammer spring and removing the weights in the carrier. Otherwise it’ll be ruined by the temperatures here.
      I don’t like co2. Having said that I did buy a bag of 50 capsules for a good price. So at least I get to see what it’s like on the stronger fuel…if only for 50 mag fills.

    • @TomiHarley
      @TomiHarley Год назад

      @@BadaBingPictures my pleasure.
      Since you don’t like Co2, smart choice with a softer hammer spring. You could get a softer buffer spring too. If the rate of fire would be too slow since it is a heavy bolt you could add a speed buffer return spring. FG Airsoft used to sell it.
      Im sure you know what that is and for all other that don’t know:
      A Speed buffer spring is a short lill spring that sits at the end of the buffer tube. When the bolt carrier travels back, at the end it hits that speed buffer spring it compresses it a lill bit and helps the big buffer spring with returning the bolt carrier back home. That would keep your rate of fire still high even when using a much softer buffer spring. It be also much more gas efficient especially with the combination you did using a softer hammer spring.
      One thing to keep in mind, if you would choose to go down that route. I think you would have to get a new buffer tube. There is something in the back of the 416 vipertech buffer tube obstructing the bolt carrier from traveling all the way back. I couldn’t remove it on my 416 but my mk18 (2012) and m16 (2014) older model they have removable plastic spacers.
      Quick tip if the desired length of travel is not achieved with those plastic spacer, you can use coins as spacers and get the exact length of travel that you desire.

      @@BadaBingPictures May I ask why you do not like Co2?

    • @BadaBingPictures
      @BadaBingPictures  Год назад +1

      @@TomiHarley Thanks mate.
      It’s cycling very much like my old VFC HK416A5. Fairly strong recoil sensation but retaining that crisp snap. I’m really pleased with how it was adaptable for my particular parameters.
      Yes. I have that nylon spacer in the stock. To be fair I’m alright with it being short-stroked.
      I tried it without and it’s okay…
      I think the main thing is getting it to shoot a little bit hotter. As it’s a Japanese import, the speed is low 200’s on propane and 280/290 on co2. It had a screw in reducer in the nozzle tip, but I took it out.
      I don’t do co2 mainly because of costs. I have several Propane cans that I refill from a tank and all of my gas guns run on that. In my mind if a GBB can’t run on propane to an acceptable degree, it’s not worth my time. It’s not practical to buy into another gas source specifically for one gun. Not when everything else works great..you know?

      @@BadaBingPictures Very high quality, I bought it for 1700 usd (400 usd shipping cost and bribe...). It's worth it. Instead of adding weight to the bolt carrier, I think you should buy H1 and H2 buffers to play in summer and winter. The use of a tool that screwed into the bolt carrier made me concerned that it would rotate out and get stuck in the buffer with the tremendous recoil of the VT. It's really a bad idea to put the rotary tool on the back of the bolt carrier. I bought VT Pmag, if only VT was HK's magazine stanag instead of Colt's stanag. I love the curve of HK's stanag

    Standard VT or EBTech mags are poor quality and low gas capacity. You can use GHK AR mags on the VT but you need to do some shimming. There's also other mods you can do to winterize the rifle. Like a lighter hammer spring and a lighter buffer spring. GHK Mags are far superior in gas capacity, 17grams vs the OEM 10grams. I live near the VT factory and know some of the employees so if you want to DM me for more info you can.

      CRW would be your best bet as they used to stock VT’s and now they’re U.K. London based.

      Yeah if they've said no to you I don't think I'd have any more luck. . Checked online forums + reddit etc for any dealings with some of the Taiwan based stores are fairly old now, certainly pre brexit times
      CRW could be worth a shot now they're in London.
      Basically I'm after a high quality "retro" AR and the only options are the stock VT's or the TM MWS and fitted with the aftermarket kits (6061 receiver, steel barrel, etc)
      I'd imagine the TM would actually be cheaper even though the receivers alone are a good £500+
      I've watched your videos and you do seem to rate the MWS very highly even if the takedown isn't quite as realistic as some of the other brands.
      VT would be my top choice but if they are not a realistic option regards to the availability I could well be better off with the MWS.

    • @BadaBingPictures
      @BadaBingPictures  Год назад

      @@James-dt1kl their retro line of AR’s are beautiful. Forged receivers are basically the best you can get…although I have to say they are a bit overkill for airsoft.
      If you’re looking for realism and retro flavourings why not look to VFC? They have recently put out M733’s and an XM177. Also I believe they are branching out to other variants like full sized M16’s. They are like the realistic counterpart to the Marui M4 series.
      The feedback among the community has been very strong indeed! Action Airsoft Online Store is a great TW shop.
      And yes, I really do rate the TM. Unrealistic internals but it’s a skirmishing powerhouse right from the box. It is one of the finest GBBR’s you can buy.

    Hey Badabing, nice to see you again!
    Soooooooo, if you think a very M4-ish gun deserves so much trouble 😛 But to be fair, as much as I'm not an M4 fan I bought myself a WE 416, just to see if I can make it as cold resistant as the TM MP7 😀Now I'm chasing down parts.
    Also, if you'd keep the CO2 mags just for the review, it would be nice. To compare it to propane. I have the GHK AUG which I use with CO2 mags and they do two mags worth of BBs with one 12g capsule. I like how CO2 runs but not the fiddling which you mentioned too. On the bright side you can't under or overfill the mag. Have you ever though about doing the DH mod on your GHK AK mags? It's supposed to be cheaper that way. In your currency it costs me about 45 pence for 60 BBs with the CO2 capsules, that's pretty high but from what I've heard the DH mod is also not a solution to everything.
    PS: I don't get the Paul Allen reference.

      There he is!
      I remember AR’s aren’t really your thing. And that’s okay.
      I used a WE 416 on a milsim game and the gas key broke off in the opening shots and jammed up the whole gun! I think I have the video on this channel somewhere. One of my first vids
      Yeah I’ll keep hold of those co2 mags for a while until I see what they operate the system like and record data.
      I bet that AUG runs nice on co2 as well!
      Nope. Never wanted to try DHM my AKM. I will only use propane as I do my own refilling from a big 11kg tank. And I use all my GBB’s on propane. For me it’s perfect. Cheap, strong and dry.
      Paul Allen is reference to the 2000 movie American Psycho, starring Christian Bale.

      @@BadaBingPictures Hopefully WE has improved their 416. For example if you can believe the WE FB group, feeding (magwell alignment) is not an issue on newer Mk17s (Scar Heavy), but it was on mine back in 2019. Just like how the top screws on the BCG never came loose on mine but it was an issue in the first batches.
      As soon as I move into my house I'll also get a propane tank, which should be next spring, I have all the required hardware except for the tank itself, I don't want to keep a propane tank in a flat. But I like the CO2 capsules too, I think I'll get a 551 too when I find one inside the EU and run it on CO2. Sometimes even our autumns get really cold.

    I happened to have chance to see person to person and touch viper tech mk18mkd1
    Man I am telling you it was just different from other brands gbbr... it was just from another world.
    Perhaps TM, GHK and even VFC might out perform Viper but it doesn't matter, you nust have to own one...
    But I was surpirsed that it works pretty smoothly with propane gas in ur video....can't wait to see your performance review...until then have wonderful days.

    I really like all the videos BadaBing produced, and I really don't want to be an ass here, but I do think people should know this.
    If look carefully at the receiver ( obvious actually ), the ribs on both sides of the magwell, the machining is wrong ( looks different from the real deal ) just like pretty much every single 416 airsoft guns out there except for the marui NGRS & "forged" version of the vfc ( twice the price, not zparts ).
    I know viper makes good looking ARs, but only limited to their old school style ARs. Legend has it that they bought colt's old A1 & A2 tooling for the receivers so that they can make the most realistic airsoft ARs, but that doesn't apply to their more modern ARs.
    I understand that BadaBing really likes this 416, the anodizing is amazing and the build is solid ( have played with it for a while myself ) but in my mind, with the same amount of money, a more correct version of the vfc is out there and the bolt is not short-stroked from the factory.
    Disclaimer, I do not like vfc, but their forged 416 is literally the most realistic 416 out there.

      No worries man. It’s good to hear about the inaccuracies. I wouldn’t have known otherwise.
      I had a VFC forged 416 but due to shipping restrictions I never got it, and then went out of stock. So I had the next best thing, and as long as it functions well I’ll be happy with the decision. Cheers bud

    RS 416s were bad quality guns. The bolt carriers rubbed hard and you had to constantly teardown and clean the shavings. That's why it was dropped from mil use. If VT was as realistic as possible, I bet they shave their BCs as well... Hence the polish 🤣
