"Hey Grant, I did some research and saw that you were doing XXXX and I saw that you were looking for someone to do XXX, is that right?"

Confidence is huge for this. Knowing how to talk and control a conversation is very important. I wish my dad had learned to be more assertive and less 9-5. He was in sales for a start up company that started 15 years ago. He carried that company by his skills with connecting, selling, setting up meetings, ext. He made the company millions a year and only got 2-3%. Now that he's retired, the company is falling apart. Hahaha, I was just some 15 year old kid sitting in the car each morning as he drove me to school talking about the business. We'd talk about issues in his company. When I was 21 the company wanted to hire me as a consultant and part owner. I went into psychology instead, regret that now though. 😂

I've been in this shit position of sales guy for a decade... It's THESE ideas that all these "business professionals" carry and pass along that make it so annoying to deal with. Just be a real fuckin person... Have some empathy.. pay attention... respect each other.. you don't need all this dumb shit

big facts. i start off most of my interactions by asking someone how their day is. you get way further that way then just jumping into your pitch. converse, be natural, be confident. yes u need to know what your selling in and out but that will come once you get down to needs assessment and objections. let it flow don’t go in for the kill too quick

The fact that we got into the situation where this is what a “good salesman” is supposed to be shows that care has gone out the window and all of these people just want to get the most money and fuck everyone else

“I’m calling to sell you on…” seriously? It’s actually easy to sell, but you have to have a powerful value proposition and then lead in with that.
