This video is awesome. It's also a VERY accurate depiction of the way the Sheltie's act! They are completely adorable and perfect companions especially for children. I have a 10 month old male Sheltie and he never stops. When its time to get ready for bed, if he still has pent up energy he will just start running & jumping. Often it's up across my couch and he leaps from there to the recliner. I'm so grateful to have him. My first Sheltie lived to be 15 1/2. I still miss her.
my parents got a sheltie before i was born and had it after i was born until it lived to be 16. it was the perfect dog for my brother and i to have growing up. i miss her everyday. she was a damn good girl.
They are the perfect dogs, for little ones and even if you don’t have any. Very entertaining, too! I have one now that’s four and am expecting baby #1, very exciting for the little one to have a companion like this!
The parents must have been so very appreciative of their Sheltie doing such a great job of entertaining and watching their baby. To have 5 minutes to get a task done when you have busy toddlers, that’s a gift! :)

My sister's sheltie when let out to go, just suts outside the glass door and bounces and barks for hours.. Also occasionally runs a lap entirely around the house. The dog is mad. Jumping to your eye level while yapping for hours.
This just warms my heart!!! Shelties are absolutely wonderful family dogs, they love their pack for sure! I'm so glad your son and pup get to be such great friends ❤
We're on our fifth sheltie--we absolutely love them. We've had 2 tri-colors, 2 sables and our current dog is blue merle. This blue merle is the most intelligent of them all. They are the best pets!!!
I've lost three of these great dogs. I honestly feel for your loss. Keep thinking of all the fun you had. I have two now and keep hugging them every chance I get. So sorry for you.

I do not have a shelter I have a border collie they are high energy dogs perfect for that little one he'll watch him like a hawk till he dies they're great dogs they're shelties are mini long hair collies I've had 11 Collies and three of them has been long hairs Great dogs

Then a bi-black. Now we have a black Merle, 5 yrs, and tri 18 mos. We can't ever see our house without one. The 18 mos is the most active and stubborn of all. But the two love each other.
No relation. Shetland sheepdog were bred on the Shetland Islands on purpose for the landscape and herding. Shelties love to be active, families, extremely smart, and friendly.

Perfect breed to befriend a baby. Tolerant, atomic powered and very seldom do they bite. Super smart.

One of my four Shelties did this. We used to call it "TURBODOG" mode.
This is why you want a herding dog, not a pit bull to play with a child. It might knock he kid down, without meaning to, but even that isn't likely.
