Can't help but wonder if Tommy really was coming out with some of those off the top of his head or if, as a caller suggested, he had a writer hurriedly feeding them to him. If it's the former, I'm absolutely in awe of his quickness of thinking & sheer wordsmith-ery 😂

It's a good question. I suspect he had a few prepared pre-air and freestyled later on using the details the switchboard operators gathered.
