I wasn't aware Tekken had THAT many mechanics! Kind of exciting to know I can still learn more. And with all that's going on for tackles alone, you'd think this was a wrestling game
Just be aware that to escape Marduks 1+2 grounded attack you don't press anything. The armbar break counter is 1+2,2,2,2,2,2 5x2's, 4x2's will just get you out of it. @3:47 should always use this version.
@@TK_TheFURY It's not the same for both, you will never get the armbar counter if you only do 4x2's. If you did you prolly either buffered one of the 2's or you miss-counted.
I was literally wondering just a few days ago if there's an ultimate tackle guide on yt and long and behold here it is! 😆.., thanks alot bro!, great video!
Man, how long are you playing Tekken? Hats off for making this video, being very specific to each characters movements, this is invaluable. The edit would’ve taken lot of time. Thank you so much.
Great video! Will be referencing this a lot. Two points of feedback: Would be helpful to break into RUclips chapters so we can skip to the section quickly for characters Would be helpful to show how long we have to delay 1st and 4th hits for timing mixups :)
Escaping and reversing the arm/leg locks are slightly different inputs. The arm lock escape is 1+2, 2 x4 and can be done by everyone. Reversing it requires 1+2, 2 x6 and can only be done by Paul, Jin, Devil Jin, King, Nina, Dragunov & Marduk. The leg lock escape is 1+2, 1 x4 and can be done by everyone. Reversing it requires 1+2, 1 x6 and can only be done by King, Nina, Dragunov & Marduk. In both cases, they can only be reversed by all the characters who can do them plus Dragunov & Marduk. The window for reversing the locks is very tight, but it's made easier if the locks are delayed (usually by doing three mounted punches first). Instead of Paul & Dragunov pressing 1,1,2, mash 1+2... It's better to press 1+2,1+2,2, mash 1+2. This is the same except it also gives them a chance to reverse the mount. And for all other characters, mixing between that and 1+2,1+2,1, mash 1+2 will attempt to reverse the mount and then completely nullify any arm & leg lock attempts, making it only a mix-up between left & right punches. With Yoshimitsu & Negan, it doesn't have to be 1+2. 1 or 2 or any button combination that includes 1 and/or 2 works fine.
This is awesome! I had no idea that escaping the ultimate tackle before getting taken down was a just frame. Damn you and your ultimate punishment, Paul.
as a small nitpick, you can break tackles with 1+2 as well. And i dont know if its just frame/frame perfect. it feels like there is a pretty good window to break them. I think marduk is the only character with a JF/FP break window with his tackle at far range.
1+2 works because it includes the 2. This is different from all other grabs where we have to be precise. 2+3 and 2+4 also work, and even 1+2+3+4 works here.
I learned you can escape the take down tackles from behind. Always thought you just had to take the damage. Had no idea! I feel like a fool lol. Seems so obvious now.
I somehow knew some of these. (By accident.) But I didn't know that some characters like Paul, Marduk etch. Have some unique tackling and counters. I'm new to the update. Just met a Marduk guy online and got demolished asf. Spammed buttons and there ya go I escaped. After that happened. (I lost of course.) Kinda practiced the tackle counter with Jin
This is kinda amazing! Is Drag's tackle is true 3-way mix or there are something to look for? Btw, Marduk's tackle is literally 2-way mix, since you can guess 1 or 2 and still break 1+2 on reaction (even at 3 bars). This is somewhat option select since 1/2 and 1+2 has ~12frames difference and 1+2 is ~30f of start-up with animation much more obvious than snake edge.
Marduk all 3 options can be blocked on reaction if you have enough practice that's why there is an option to change it mid animation. You can react to 1+2 on a 3 bar connect
@@TK_TheFURY the option to change 1 and 2 mid animation makes it useless to try and react, so you can only guess, and 1+2 is committment with no fein. What I'm trying to say, is 1+2 option is useless
Well... Characters who can db1+2 can also FC1+2. Kazuya can FC1+2 You forgot Marduk's important neutral/1+2 breaks, tackle 1+2 or 3+4. Only tackle followups that can be broken ny doing nothing OR 1+2. Also Paul has his ultimate punishment that always starts with a right punch, meaning you generally wanna mash Paul's tackle with 1 instead of 2.
Seria genial que hagas videos de como safarse de agarres una vez que te lo hayan hecho, como por ejemplo Jack u/f 1+2; qcf 2 y el otro contrincante b en un punto en específico

I wasn't aware Tekken had THAT many mechanics! Kind of exciting to know I can still learn more.

I've always thought that Tekken devs actually wanted to make a wrestling game.
It never ends with this game I swear
This one is a work of art, TheFury!! All that knowledge and the beautiful presentation! Wasn't expecting this quality. Congrats!!
Glad you liked it
very useful demonstration. Should be a built in tutorial for the game itself.
Extra note: marduks breaks for the tackle extensions are 1, 2, or nothing if he does the 1+2
Wait 1+2 is unbreakable? Why wouldn marduks always go for that then
@@Scorpio7500 if marduk does the 1+2 and you don't press anything, you'll break it
@@Scorpio7500 you break 1+2 by not pressing anything. It's a scrub killer option cuz scrubs always press.
The legacy knowledge that went into this short video is wild.
Great video, didn't know asuka's counted as right punch specifically and that heihachi could parry it.
This content is insanely well put together
This is great information, sucks that Tekken doesnt teach you this in-game.
Thank you for the video

Actually it's the same input for both break and escape number of 2s doesn't matter. You just have to time it correctly
@@TK_TheFURY It's not the same for both, you will never get the armbar counter if you only do 4x2's. If you did you prolly either buffered one of the 2's or you miss-counted.
@@Lord_Dranek I actually checked system file 😂 but sure
@@TK_TheFURY This needs more explaining because this doesn't make sense.
You forget to mention specifically that it's a right punch. Left punch gives back neutral, while right punch is +5.
I had no idea about half of these. Thanks for the info man.

it sucks so much that they removed generic tackles in Tekken 8
Paul, dragunov , king and nina can all reverse the armbar and leg lock and do their own
Escaping and reversing the arm/leg locks are slightly different inputs.

how do I break this: 2:24?

A VERY useful video.
I really needed this kind of video thanks,,,
If all the breaks are frame perfect, this means that you can't mash to get them, right?
you can mash but can't buffer most of the breaks you have to mash on time since there is a 3-7 frame break window I think
